Chapter 521: Chapter 521: She is the Weak Spot_1
Upon looking at Xia Qingtian in his arms, Bo Jingyan squinted his eyes and seemed as lazy as a cat.
His usually stony heart all at once melted down, becoming somewhat softer.
While massaging Qingtian, he spoke, "I heard about your accomplishments in the entertainment industry. You solved it nicely. You’re being praised by many."
When her successful career was mentioned, Qingtian immediately opened her eyes and spoke out enthusiastically, "Because of this incident, our company will be expanding significantly. Many talented rookies and capable agents are actively seeking to join our company."
Witnessing her radiant joy, Jingyan genuinely felt happy for her.
"Congratulations." His deep gaze revealed a hint of indescribable warmth as he focused on Xia Qingtian, saying, "You’ve done really well. Do you have time tomorrow? I’ll treat you to a meal to celebrate."
Subconsciously, Xia Qingtian was ready to agree.
But, she soon remembered that she had scheduled an interview with a magazine. She did not know whether it would go smoothly or how long it would take.
She could not hastily agree to Jingyan’s invitation in case tomorrow did not go as planned, and she would end up standing him up.
"I have something important to do tomorrow, how about some other day? Then I’ll treat you." That was all Xia Qingtian could say.
Jingyan casually asked,"What are you doing tomorrow?"
Qingtian didn’t plan to reveal that she was going to have an interview with a magazine as a top-tier agent.
If she remembered correctly, when Bo Jingyan first took over the company, he was interviewed by that magazine, so their professionalism was highly commendable.
She planned to give that magazine issue to Bo Jingyan once it was out.
She vaguely replied, "You’ll know eventually."
Seeing that she didn’t wish to elaborate, Jingyan did not press any further.
After a while, the digestives started working and Xia Qingtian’s stomach discomfort finally subsided.
Uncontrollably, she yawned again. Exhaustion once again engulfed her, she was really lacking sleep and seemed like she wanted to compensate for it all at once.
Seeing that she was tired and no longer in discomfort, Jingyan let her go.
"Since you’re tired, you should sleep it off."
Xia Qingtian rubbed her tired eyes, did not persist and replied, "Alright."
Then, she returned to her room to sleep, without minding Jingyan any further.
After an uninterrupted sleep for over thirty hours, she finally woke up refreshed.
...
The next day
Qingtian sprang out of bed full of energy and visited the company after breakfast.
Lots of new contracts were signed.
Qingtian currently had only two artists, Huo Qilin and Cheng Bingbing, under her supervision so she thought of selecting a few more to relieve the burden on other company agents.
The income of an agent is directly linked to the growth of the artist, so even if she is a higher-up in the company, she did not cherry-pick those with good qualifications.
She first allowed the company’s agents to choose.
The artists that the agents couldn’t support came under her sole supervision.
By the time Qingtian arrived, the agents had already chosen the artists they preferred, leaving only two female and one male artist.
She chose not to choose, so the three artists became hers.
Initially, the three artists were upset about not being chosen by any agent, they never expected things to take such a positive turn—they became Xia Qingtian’s artists.
Anyone with bright ears and eyes in the entertainment business knows about Xia Qingtian’s capabilities.
Signing with her implies more opportunities, and artists would also get the chance to be mentored by Huo Qilin and Cheng Bingbing; good relations with them would offer them more screen time.
Realizing this, the three people were overjoyed.
Qingtian gathered the three and chatted briefly in her office before sending them off.
Soon, the time for her scheduled interview with the magazine approached.
This interview required her presence at the magazine.
Xia Qingtian gathered her things and asked the company’s driver to drop her off.
But when she arrived at the parking lot, she discovered that Huo Qilin was the one behind the wheel instead of the company’s driver.
"How come it’s you?" Xia Qingtian lifted her eyebrows in surprise.
Qilin got out of the car, and opened the door for her. He bent slightly in a gesture for her to get into the car, saying, "You helped me out a great deal when I was being slandered. Let me drive for you today and serve you in return."
Since Qilin is really popular currently, and as this was a busy parking lot with poor security and privacy, Qingtian feared he might be recognized by someone if they lingered any longer.
Disregarding her refusal towards Qilin, she immediately got into the car.
Qilin got into the driver’s seat and reminded, "Fasten your seatbelt, then we can leave."
Since she was already in the car, she couldn’t abandon the car. Xia Qingtian obliged to his instructions, fastened her seatbelt, and admitted, "You must be rather idle to be so irresponsible, even stealing the chauffeur’s job. After I finish my interview and return to the company, I’ll assign you more work. Then you’ll experience what it’s like to be an A-list artist."
"I don’t mind at all." Huo Qilin shrugged, showing no fear whatsoever.
Xia Qingtian was his agent; if he got busy, she’d definitely have to run around for him.
With this in mind, he looked forward to busier days.
They were lucky not to encounter any traffic along the way, and arrived smoothly at the magazine office.
Upon arriving at the magazine, Xia Qingtian was taken to the makeup room where the magazine’s makeup artist applied professional makeup that accentuated her femininity while portraying her competence and allure.
Done with the makeup, Xia Qingtian was not led to the designated interview room.
Instead, she was led to an outdoor beverage store near the magazine office.
When she arrived, scenery had already been set and the camera along with the crew were in place.
Upon her arrival, they took a ten-minute break before the interview commenced.
The host was humorous and appeared friendly. He quoted references while conducting the interview and his eloquent speech, in combination with such a relaxing environment, made Xia Qingtian forget they were on an interview. It felt more like chatting with a newly acquainted friend.
The interview went smoothly.
Unknowingly, it reached its conclusion.
The host stood up and extended his hand to Xia Qingtian, saying, "Ms. Xia, it was a pleasure to have you for this interview. We had a great time. I hope you continue to shine in your industry and your position."
Xia Qingtian immediately stood up and shook his hand.
"It was an honor to be interviewed by your magazine. I will work even harder in the future."
