Cheng Bingbing was scolded, yet she didn’t get angry, on the contrary, she found herself moved and sniffles.

Because she knew that Xia Qingtian was worried for her, not treating her as a tool for making money, but as a family member and partner.

Once back at the company, she began planning to contact overseas talent agents to find a better acting coach for Cheng Bingbing. She shortlisted several promising candidates, including accomplished actors and professional acting teachers.

She had already finalized a deal with the agents’ company, and now Cheng Bingbing needed to choose a teacher.

But Cheng Bingbing was not in the company.

Her phone calls were left unanswered.

Feeling surprised by the situation, Xia Qingtian wondered what Cheng Bingbing could be preoccupied with.

"Huo Qilin, do you think I’m a fool?" She asked sternly, "Tell me the truth, how badly are you hurt? Will it affect your ability to play instruments in the future?"

Huo Qilin immediately looked guilty, "It won’t affect my ability to play instruments. Only a few stitches were needed on my arm, but there might be a scar later."

Upon hearing that his ability to play instruments was not compromised, Xia Qingtian let out a sigh of relief.

She was well aware of how much Huo Qilin loved music. Being unable to play instruments, even if it didn’t affect his singing and songwriting, would be a disappointment for him.

She did not wish for any of her artists to bear that kind of regret.

After inquiry about Huo Qilin’s injury, Xia Qingtian turned towards Cheng Bingbing, "How about you? Where are you injured?"

Cheng Bingbing moved her hair to reveal a patch on her forehead, "I was just hit, nothing serious, just a mild concussion, it won’t leave a scar."

On seeing them both injured but not in any grave danger, Xia Qingtian was finally able to relax.

Having checked on their condition, it was now time to find out why they got injured, and how they got injured together.

A frown creasing her forehead, Xia Qingtian demanded, "What happened? Why are you two injured?"

Cheng Bingbing bit her lip, "I’m sorry, it was my fault. Huo Qilin only got hurt because he saved me."

After finishing, she bowed apologetically towards Huo Qilin.

"I’m sorry. It’s all because of me that you got hurt, and that your arm got injured, perhaps even scarred. I am sorry," her voice was choked at the end. "Someday, I will find a way to remove the scar from your arm."

She was genuinely remorseful, feeling that she had dragged down Huo Qilin.

"You don’t need to..." Huo Qilin countered generously, dismissing it without a thought, he even comforted her, "I’m a man, a scar won’t change anything. Besides, this scar represents my bravery, it’s my badge of honour and adds to my masculinity."

After hearing her explanation, Xia Qingtian finally understood that despite her advice, Cheng Bingbing decided to follow the veteran actress’s advice and fully immerse herself into the character for Director Zhao’s film.

She dabbed some minimalist makeup, hid her striking facial features and went incognito to some shady places to experience firsthand the fall and despair of the character she was portraying.

Everything had been progressing smoothly initially, but unexpectedly, a customer had taken an interest in her.

She was just trying to experience the role, not trade herself in, so she refused.

The customer was so furious he attempted to force himself on her when she was alone. Luckily, at the critical moment, Huo Qilin unexpectedly showed up in search of a friend. He not only rescued her but also managed to drive the customer away.

During the scuffle, however, his arm was slashed by a knife.
