"Of course, I’m your wife. If you need to bring a female partner to the party, it absolutely has to be me." Xia Qingtian’s tone was matter-of-fact.

"If you don’t bring me and instead bring another woman, it would be an ungentlemanly act. In ancient times, you would have been dunked in a pig cage for this." By the end of her words, her tone became rather menacing.

Instead of being offended, Bo Jingyan felt a tingling sensation in his heart.

He subconsciously explained to Xia Qingtian, "I’m not planning on bringing a partner to tonight’s party."

The invitation clearly stated that he should bring a female partner.

And she was the perfect choice.

"Alright then." She sighed in disappointment, having no reasons to blame Bo Jingyan.

After all, he had never said that he would take her there. It was she who took it for granted that he would surely bring her since the invitation specifically mentioned bringing a female partner, hence she had done a bunch of futile things.

"Remember not to drink too much at the party. It’s bad for your health." Xia Qingtian couldn’t help but add a few remarks before hanging up.

"Got it." Bo Jingyan responded, his lips involuntarily curling into a smile, a smile he himself didn’t even notice.
