Chapter 366: Chapter 366: Seizing the Handle_1
Bo Jingyan’s mother clearly showed favoritism towards Shi Qian with her words.
But she was Bo Jingyan’s mother, and before Bo’s father passed away, he specifically urged them to take good care of her.
Xia Qingtian could beat up Shi Qian severely, but she couldn’t do anything to her.
Just as she was unsure how to confront Bo’s mother, suddenly...
The sound of footsteps was heard, someone held her shoulder, patting it soothingly. She was instantly wrapped in a sense of security.
Xia Qingtian looked up and found that the person was Bo Jingyan.
She was stunned for a moment, and the expression on her face relaxed a little, she asked, "What brings you here suddenly?"
"Jiang Xuan said he had handed over the results of the investigation to you," Bo Jingyan explained softly. "I realized that Shi Qian was involved in this matter, and I was worried you might be at a disadvantage."
A warmth spread through Xia Qingtian’s heart.
"I didn’t suffer any loss." She lifted her chin, indicating for Bo Jingyan to see for himself.
Following her direction, Bo Jingyan saw Shi Qian’s red and swollen face. She looked very miserable.
"See, I told you I didn’t suffer any loss," Xia Qingtian’s tone had a hint of triumph.
However, Bo Jingyan wasn’t fooled by her casual tone, "If things really went so smoothly, why did your face look so gloomy just a moment ago?"
Xia Qingtian was speechless.
Shi Qian watched Xia Qingtian and Bo Jingyan whispering to each other, as if there was no one else around. Her hands, hanging at her sides, clenched into fists out of anger and jealousy.
She nudged Bo’s mother’s arm and started to sob lowly.
Bo’s mother immediately felt an unspeakable ache in her heart for Shi Qian, "Jingyan, there must be a proper explanation for this matter. How can she start hitting people before the matter is made clear?"
By the end of her words, she frowned in displeasure.
Xia Qingtian’s face instantly darkened.
Noticing her change in expression, Bo Jingyan held her chilling hand, slowly retorting, "Who said the matter hasn’t been cleared up yet?"
At these words, a momentary stiffness crossed Shi Qian’s face.
What did he mean by that?
Did she leave behind any evidence?
No!
That’s impossible!
She was very careful and couldn’t have left any evidence behind.
Bo Jingyan was so cunning that he must be trying to trick her with this, so she couldn’t lose her cool or unintentionally reveal anything.
With that in mind, she forced herself to calm down.
Even Bo Jingyan’s mother was taken aback by his words, "What do you mean? Do you actually have evidence proving that Shi Qian really poisoned us?"
As she spoke, there was an odd expression on her face.
She knew that Bo Jingyan wasn’t the type to talk nonsense. Since he had mentioned it, it must be more than a wild guess.
Could it be true that Xia Qingtian’s words were the reality, and Shi Qian really poisoned Xia Guohua?
Bo Jingyan’s mother instinctively moved a bit to the side, putting a little distance between her and Shi Qian.
Shi Qian noticed her movement, her eyes dimmed instantly. She felt furious inside but dared not show it.
"Of course I have evidence." Bo Jingyan clapped his hands, and someone immediately stepped forward, producing a wrapped package and a phone case.
Seeing these items, all color drained from Shi Qian’s already red and swollen face.
Bo Jingyan’s mother also recognized that the phone case and bag belonged to Shi Qian.
She furrowed her brows, "Why do you have Shiqian’s phone case and bag?"
Bo Jingyan calmly stated, "If you can recognize these belonged to Shi Qian, that’s good. There are traces of cantharidin on them. She probably knew that she had cantharidin residues on her own hands and threw these items away, fearing she might be poisoned if they got contaminated."
With this, he looked at Shi Qian, "Am I right?"
Shi Qian’s lip trembled, she couldn’t utter a word.
Bo Jingyan’s mother shot a intense look at her, "Shi Qian, what exactly is going on?"
"Now that the evidence is solid, you deliberately poisoned my father. What else do you have to say?" Xia Qingtian’s voice was harsh.
Shi Qian shuddered.
What should she do now?
It seemed like she had become the target of public criticism, should she admit it?
She admitted that she resented Xia Qingtian for causing her to lose many endorsements and good scripts, missing the opportunity to skyrocket to fame.
She plotted to teach Xia Qingtian a lesson in revenge, investigated Xia Guohua, knew that the father and daughter had a bad relationship in the past and recently reconciled, and thus intended to make him suffer, right?
No!
She can’t admit it!
Shi Qian clearly understood that her actions were illegal, even if Bo Jingyan’s mother favored her, she wouldn’t allow her to violate the law.
Damn it.
She was afraid that someone would find the bag and the phone case. She clearly threw them randomly into a trash bin on the roadside. Even she herself couldn’t remember which one it was.
How did Bo Jingyan find them?
"I’m going to call the police about this matter." Bo Jingyan’s voice, filled with absolute coldness, resonated.
Hearing this, a wave of panic surged in Shi Qian’s heart.
She didn’t want to go to jail, that would destroy her life.
The only person who could save her now was Bo’s mother.
With this thought, Shi Qian clung to her tightly like a lifebuoy, "Mother Bo, please save me..."
She couldn’t help crying out in desperation, "I didn’t mean to do it, believe me, I really didn’t. It was all just a misunderstanding."
"Yes, it was all a misunderstanding."
Wit quickened in Shi Qian, the words came fluidly.
"I don’t know what cantharidin is. When I was helping you to get the medicine, one accidentally spilled a little and got contaminated on my phone case and bag. I poured the medicine out."
"But the smell of the medicine was very strong and couldn’t be washed off. I was afraid that if you found out I had spilled the medicine, you would think I was clumsy and wouldn’t adore me anymore. That’s why I threw away the phone case and bag. I thought I could hide it."
Sensing that she could no longer deny her involvement in Xia Guohua’s poisoning, Shi Qian had already come up with an excuse.
So she went on, "As for Uncle Xia’s cantharidin poisoning, perhaps what I spilled was cantharidin. When I greeted Uncle Xia, those residues might have accidentally contaminated him and led to his poisoning."
"All this was my fault. It wasn’t Qingtian’s fault for suddenly coming over and slapping me, I deserved it."
While speaking, she smacked herself hard as if atoning for her sins.
She didn’t hold back.
Her eyes were seeing stars from her own slaps, but Bo Jingyan’s mother didn’t react.
