Chapter 312: Chapter 312 Not Clear Even for a Lifetime _1
Suddenly, the door to the room was opened.
"Mrs. Bo, are you awake?" An unfamiliar voice echoed through the room.
Then, the room’s lights came on.
Xia Qingtian’s eyes were not yet accustomed to the strong light.
She forcefully shut her eyes, blinked hard, and slowly opened them. When she saw what was in the room, and the person who had just spoken, she felt like she had fallen into a bottomless abyss.
This was not her room at the Bo family’s old house, but rather—
A hospital room!!!
A stab of pain pierced Xia Qingtian’s heart. Finally recognizing the reality that everything was not a dream but had actually happened.
She had been deluding herself.
From the moment she woke up, she had been smelling the scent of disinfectant.
Xia Qingtian’s tears poured uncontrollably, her voice laden with unprecedented panic, "Where is my grandpa? How is he?"
The nurse replied, "Old Mr. Bo is undergoing emergency treatment."
Upon hearing this, Xia Qingtian immediately threw off her covers, disregarding the nurse’s protest, didn’t even have time to put on her shoes, and ran towards the emergency room as fast as she could.
The door to the emergency room was still closed.
Bo Jingyan and an elegant and charming woman were standing vigil outside.
Hearing the sound of footsteps, Bo Jingyan turned his head. When he saw her, his gaze immediately fell on her bare feet. His brows furrowed instantly.
He strode over to her, picked her up, and set her on a nearby chair.
"The ground is cold. How can you walk without shoes? What if you catch a cold?" Bo Jingyan’s voice was hoarse and although his tone was stern, it was tinged with indescribable tenderness.
"Where are your shoes?" He asked.
Xia Qingtian shook her head, her tears falling fiercely, and her voice choked so much that she could not speak.
Bo Jingyan took out his phone and made a call. After a while, Jiang Xuan rushed over with a pair of shoes.
He knelt down on one knee and put the shoes on her feet.
"Grandpa, is grandpa..." Xia Qingtian wanted to ask about Old Mr. Bo’s condition, but she was crying so hard, her voice choking, she could barely utter a complete sentence.
Bo Jingyan knew what she wanted to ask. He pulled her into his arms, hugging her tightly.
"Grandfather is being treated in the emergency room, I believe he will be fine." His tone was very firm, but it was unclear whether he was comforting Xia Qingtian or himself.
Xia Qingtian felt his words were reasonable.
Since her grandpa was still in the emergency room, he must overcome this hurdle. Therefore, she shouldn’t cry.
Thinking so, she summoned all her self-control to suppress her tears.
"Right, you’re right, my grandpa is such a good person, he has the protection of Heaven. He will be fine." Xia Qingtian nodded emphatically, saying fiercely.
It was as if by doing so, Old Mr. Bo would truly be out of danger.
Time passed moment by moment. Xia Qingtian felt a sense of familiarity with the scene. She then remembered that not long ago, Old Mr. Bo was poisoned, and she and Bo Jingyan were waiting outside the emergency room for a long time, just like this, right?
Last time, Old Mr. Bo made it through. This time, he surely will too!!!
Finally...
After a long wait, the door to the emergency room was opened.
Xia Qingtian almost stumbled as she rushed forward, gripping the doctor’s arm tightly, "Doctor, how is my grandpa?"
The doctor removed his mask, a grave expression on his face.
"I’m sorry..." he sighed, "the patient’s injuries were too severe, and he wasn’t brought to the hospital in time. We did our best."
"Did your best? What does that mean?" Xia Qingtian’s mind was slow to catch on, completely unable to understand what the doctor’s words meant.
"Condolences." The doctor intoned gravely, "The patient is still conscious. He will be moved to a general ward soon. You should prepare to say your final farewells."
Having said this, the doctor slowly extricated his hand from hers.
Xia Qingtian wanted to catch up and ask for clarification, but someone grabbed her arm, preventing her from moving. She could only watch as the doctor moved further and further away.
She glanced back and discovered the person holding her back was Bo Jingyan.
"Bo Jingyan, let me go..."
The tears that Xia Qingtian fought hard to suppress returned with a vengeful force.
"I need to go ask the doctor for clarification, I need to know what his words meant, I have to get it clear."
"Qingtian, do you want to miss seeing grandpa for the last time?" There was profound sorrow in Bo Jingyan’s deep eyes.
Xia Qingtian suddenly felt as if all her strength had been sucked out. The pain in her heart was so intense she almost couldn’t breathe.
It seemed to prove the truth of Bo Jingyan’s words, Old Mr. Bo was moved from the emergency room back to a general ward by the medical staff.
Xia Qingtian was led half-draggingly by Bo Jingyan into the ward.
The noble and elegant woman she had seen before was the first to step in. Old Mr. Bo was holding her hand now.
"Dad..." The woman wailed in sorrow.
It was then Xia Qingtian realized, this was Bo Jingyan’s mother, Tian Suqin.
"Xiaoqin, you’re finally back. Will you stay now?" Old Mr. Bo’s voice sounded weak, though still kindly.
"Yes, I won’t leave anymore. I’ll stay in A City." Tears also fell from Tian Suqin’s eyes as she tightly gripped his hand , "So, you need to get better soon."
Old Mr. Bo gave a bitter smile, "I know my own body. I won’t get better."
"Dad..." Tian Suqin wanted to comfort him.
Old Mr. Bo shook his head, cutting her off, "I’ve lived a long life, and have seen and experienced everything. I’m very content."
"I’ve always felt very guilty towards you. It’s all my fault, I...," he faltered for a moment, "In short, it’s my fault. The Bo Family owes you a debt we can never repay in a lifetime."
Tian Suqin wanted to say it didn’t matter, that she had let go of it.
But her mouth opened and closed, the words never escaping.
Even after a decade, she still could not get over that hurdle in her heart. She could not deceive herself, nor did she want to deceive Old Mr. Bo.
"I’m sorry, Xiaoqin, I’m sorry..." Old Mr. Bo’s eyes instantly reddened.
Tian Suqin was also upset, "Dad, it’s not your fault. I could never forgive that person all these years, but I never blamed you. I know you treated me well, loved me like a daughter."
"I’ll live well, and try to slowly move on."
Hearing her say this, Old Mr. Bo felt somewhat comforted.
"That’s good!" He seemed to have shed some of his burden.
Then, he released Tian Suqin’s hand and signaled for Xia Qingtian and Bo Jingyan to come closer.
