Chapter 297: Chapter 297: Audaciously Daring_1

Soon, Bo Jingyan and Xia Qingtian found out what poison the old Mr. Bo had been exposed to.

They managed to purchase an antidote from the dark web, had it checked by doctors, and once they confirmed there was no issue, they gave it to the old Mr. Bo.

But even with the antidote, it would still take some time for its effects to kick in.

During this period, Qingtian’s phone kept buzzing. It was Chen Momo calling probably because she hadn’t seen her and was wondering why.

Previously, she had to deal with her for the sake of saving the old Mr. Bo.

But now that they have the antidote, Qingtian didn’t want to waste any more time with her. She simply blocked Momo’s number.

So Jingyan and Qingtian spent the whole night in the hospital, looking after the old Mr. Bo.

Early the next morning, the doctor performed a full examination and confirmed that most of the poison had been cleared from his body.

However, the poison had corroded some part of his internal organs, which would need to be dealt with slowly.

After the check-up, the old Mr. Bo was transferred to the regular VIP ward.

Not long afterward, he woke up.

When Qingtian saw him open his eyes, she could no longer restrain her emotions and tightly grabbed his dry, rough hand, "Grandpa, you’re finally awake!!!"

As soon as the words left her mouth, tears started streaming down her face as if a string of pearls had been broken.

Seeing the old Mr. Bo being carried to the ambulance, and later in ICU, she had really been terrified.

Even now that he was awake and out of danger, she still felt a lingering fear.

She was afraid that he would never wake up again.

The old Mr. Bo had no idea what had happened. He wiped her tears with his hand subconsciously, there was a sense of tenderness in his voice, "Don’t cry."

Qingtian didn’t want to cry, but she couldn’t help it.

"It’s okay to cry if you want to," sighed Jingyan, sounding surprisingly indulgent.

He knew that she had been really terrified over these past few days and needed an outlet for her emotions.

And so, Qingtian cried even harder.

Upon seeing this, the Old Mr. Bo cast a stern glance at Jingyan, "She’s expecting a baby, crying so much isn’t good for her eyes."

"The occasional release of emotions won’t harm her. From now on, I’ll protect her, so she won’t cry anymore," said Jingyan in a serious tone.

The Old Mr. Bo had nothing to say in response.

Crying herself to exhaustion, Qingtian fell asleep.

Jingyan, seeing her state, gently carried her to the spare bed in the room next door.

"Rest well." Jingyan tucked her in, leaned down, and placed a kiss on her forehead.

Qingtian slept for a full day and night.

When she woke up again, she was a bit disoriented. It took her a moment to realize where she was and remember what had happened.

Immediately, she jumped out of bed, intending to check if the old Mr. Bo was truly awake or if she had simply dreamed of it.

However, just as she reached the door, it suddenly swung open. Startled, she missed a step and found herself off balance.

Just when she was about to tumble, a strong arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her into a secure and comforting embrace.

"Why were you so careless?" A voice, cold yet tinged with concern, rang out.

Qingtian immediately knew it was Jingyan’s voice.

She clutched at his shirt nervously and asked, "How is grandpa?"

"Grandpa is completely out of danger. He’s had a good rest yesterday, and he’s much better today. Under Mr. Zhang’s supervision, he even went for a walk downstairs."

As Jingyan was speaking, he noticed that she hadn’t put on her shoes. He picked her up and moved her onto the bed. To her surprise, he knelt down and helped her put her shoes on.

"The floor is cold. Remember to put on shoes next time you get out of bed."

Watching the top of Jingyan’s head as he helped her put on her shoes, Qingtian’s heart swelled with fondness, almost drowning her in sweetness.

Jingyan finished helping her with her shoes, then said, "Let’s go, I’ll take you to see grandpa."

"Okay." A smile tugged at the corners of Qingtian’s mouth.

When they entered the ward, the old Mr. Bo was watching the news on TV while eating fruit.

This poisoning incident had drastically affected his health. He seemed more than a decade older, but thankfully, his spirit seemed to be in good shape.

As long as he maintained proper rest and nourishment, there was hope of a full recovery.

When the old Mr. Bo saw Qingtian, he beckoned her over with a loving smile, "Qingqing, you’ve worked hard these past few days."

He was now aware of the situation and knew what Qingtian had done for him.

"It wasn’t hard, grandpa. What matters most is that you’re okay." Qingtian shook her head and responded sincerely.

"It seems I wasn’t wrong to have doted on you." Saying this, the old Mr. Bo took her hand and they continued their conversation while enjoying their fruit.

Jingyan was the one peeling the fruit.

Even though they were in a hospital ward, the atmosphere was surprisingly harmonious.

Until there was a knock at the door, and Chen Momo entered with a bouquet of lilies. Stopping when she saw the old Mr. Bo, her eyes flashed a cold light which she quickly suppressed.

"Grandpa, are you okay now?" she asked timidly.

"Chen Momo, how dare you show up!!!"

Just a second ago, Qingtian was happily chatting with the old Mr. Bo. But when she saw Momo, a hint of coldness flashed in her eyes.

Initially, she and Jingyan planned to deal with Momo after the old Mr. Bo had fully recovered.

But to their surprise, she had rushed to present herself now.

"Why shouldn’t I come?"

Chen Momo looked innocent and said, "Although I don’t live at Bo’s house anymore, I haven’t forgotten all the care grandpa has shown me. I know he fell ill and was admitted to the hospital, isn’t it normal for me to come visit him?"

Truth be told, she didn’t want to come.

But she had waited for Qingtian at the beach for quite some time and hadn’t seen her. Then she discovered that she was blocked from calling her. This made her sense something was wrong.

But she didn’t want to admit that her plan had failed. So, she waited another day at home.

But she didn’t get any news of what she wanted. Finally losing her patience, she decided to come and check on the situation, to see if the old Mr. Bo had really solved the crisis.

And then her worst fear came true—her plan had failed again.

Thankfully this time, she didn’t leave any evidence behind.

Qingtian had seen shameless people before, but never someone as shameless as Momo.

"Did you forget how you poisoned grandpa and threatened me to leave A City using his safety?" She couldn’t help but ask with a cold smile.
