Chapter 213: Chapter 213 I Agree_1 Chapter 213: Chapter 213 I Agree_1 “Xia Qingtian didn’t dare to think any further.

She threw the covers off and bolted towards the direction of the ICU ward.

She knew that no one from the Bo family would welcome her now, but she still wanted to secretly check on the condition of old Mr. Bo.

She wouldn’t let anyone see her.

As soon as she was sure that old Mr. Bo was out of danger, she would leave immediately.

Xia Qingtian chose not to use the elevator and instead took the emergency stairs.

Having finally reached the floor of the ICU ward, she had not even had time to catch her breath when she heard footsteps.

She saw a team of medical staff hurrying towards old Mr. Bo’s ward.

And she could vaguely hear them saying—

“The patient in room 2503’s condition has changed!”

Room 2503?

Isn’t that where old Mr. Bo is staying? What does it mean that his condition has changed?

Did Grandpa wake up? Or has his condition worsened?

Xia Qingtian didn’t care if her appearance would cause everyone to be disgusted, she immediately followed the doctor towards old Mr. Bo’s ward.

Just as she reached the door, she heard the doctor say with a hint of relief in his tone, “Excellent, the patient has regained consciousness and is out of the danger zone, he can be transferred to the general ward now.”

At these words, Xia Qingtian suddenly felt a wave of relief wash over her. She slumped down against the wall outside the ward, sitting on the ground, and tears started streaming down her face non-stop.

She was overjoyed.

Thank goodness Grandpa was alright, otherwise she couldn’t forgive herself.

She surely would’ve hated herself to death.

Xia Qingtian cried for a while, but before old Mr. Bo was wheeled out of the ICU, she had already dried her tears and quietly left the hospital.

Now that she knew Grandpa was out of danger, there was no reason for her to stay at the hospital and be in the way.

Not long after she left the hospital, her phone rang.

Xia Qingtian looked at the caller ID—it was Bo Jingyan.

She took a deep breath, answered the call, her voice slightly hoarse, “Hello…”

The tone of Bo Jingyan was somewhat cold as he asked, “Xia Qingtian, where are you?”

After knowing that Grandpa was out of danger and had been moved to a regular room, he remembered that Xia Qingtian had been very worried about Grandpa, so he went to her room personally intending to tell her the good news.

Yet when he arrived, he found an empty room. She was still a patient herself, but nobody knew where she had gone.

“Mr. Bo, the doctor said I’m alright now, so I checked myself out,” Xia Qingtian replied, “I’m on my way home.”

Upon hearing this, Bo Jingyan’s expression softened slightly, “Grandpa’s awake, you don’t need to blame yourself anymore.”

“Ok, I know.” Xia Qingtian responded quietly.

Bo Jingyan frowned. Wasn’t she supposed to be happy to hear this good news?

Why was she so cold?

“Mr. Bo, my phone’s about to die.” Without knowing what he was thinking, Xia Qingtian said this and then hung up the phone.

When Bo Jingyan came back from the hospital that night, Xia Qingtian was already back and fast asleep in her room.

He had something to tell her but now it would have to wait until tomorrow. He didn’t want to disturb her tonight.

The next day.

After breakfast, Bo Jingyan picked up his coat on and held Xia Qingtian’s hand, saying, “Grandpa should wake up today, come with me to the hospital to visit him.”

Saying this, he led her out to the hospital.

But Xia Qingtian stayed still, not moving from where she stood.

“What’s wrong?” Bo Jingyan furrowed his eyebrows, asking in confusion.

Xia Qingtian’s tone was somewhat downcast as she said, “I don’t want to go to the hospital…”

“Why?” Bo Jingyan’s tone was slightly cold, “Don’t you care about Grandpa very much?”

He noticed that beginning from yesterday, Xia Qingtian had been acting quite strange.

Instead of responding to the question, Xia Qingtian looked down at the tips of her shoes and suddenly said, “Mr. Bo, let’s get divorced!”

“What did you say?” Bo Jingyan’s handsome face, void of any emotion, became even colder. His grip on Xia Qingtian’s hand tightened, “Say it again!”

He gave Xia Qingtian another chance.

If she took back what she said, he could pretend that nothing had happened.

Xia Qingtian looked up, into his eyes. Her voice was not loud, but her tone was incredibly decisive, she repeated again, “Let’s divorce!!!”

Bo Jingyan’s face darkened even more.

“Why?” He looked at Xia Qingtian with deep eyes, suppressing the anger welling up in his heart, and asked again.

Xia Qingtian pressed her lips together, not saying a word.

But Bo Jingyan seemed to have an inkling, his sword-like eyebrows wrinkled together as he began to speak in a cold voice, “Because of what I said at the hospital the other day?”

His intention that day was to have the pale and haggard Xia Qingtian go home and rest. It seemed that her strange behavior started from that point forward.

Could she have misunderstood him?

With this in mind, despite Bo Jingyan’s discomfort with explaining himself, he still made an effort to change for the sake of the woman in front of him, “That day I was just …”

“Mr. Bo, other than divorcing, we have no other choice!” Xia Qingtian’s voice simultaneously rang out.

“What do you mean?” Bo Jingyan swallowed the words he was about to utter. His face was stern as he asked again.

Xia Qingtian freed her hand from his grasp and weakly sat on the chair, her expression a bleak gray as she said, “Grandpa already knows…the child in my belly isn’t yours.”

“Just seeing the DNA paternity test report once was enough for him to vomit blood from anger and spend three days in the ICU. Only yesterday was he released from danger.”

“Are you sure that seeing me now won’t cause him to have another attack?”

“Even if it won’t happen this time, if we don’t divorce, Grandpa will constantly be reminded of me, my child, and I will be like a thorn in his side, causing him pain with every thought.”

“Grandpa’s health and heart are not good. He can’t take anymore stress. I don’t want to hurt Grandpa, and I don’t want to be the cause of his death. I can only choose between you and Grandpa, and so must you.”

By the end, Xia Qingtian had become choked up and was unable to utter another word.

She had long thought about divorcing Bo Jingyan, but now that the moment was truly here, she couldn’t help but feel heartbroken and reluctant, the tears flowing freely down her face.

Bo Jingyan, after hearing her words, also lapsed into silence.

She was right; Grandpa Bo couldn’t take any sort of provocation, any time it could be life-threatening.

Not every time would grandpa be fortunate enough to be saved.

If he continues to be with Xia Qingtian, every day would be a test of life and death for Grandpa Bo. He couldn’t possibly allow this to happen.

When he was young, his father had died in an accident, and his mother, unable to bear the shock, had fled abroad and remained there to recuperate, avoiding any contact with home for fear of being distressed.

He was raised by Grandpa Bo personally.

Therefore, their relationship was very close. He rarely defied Grandpa Bo, mainly because he didn’t want to upset him and risk harming his health.

“So, apart from divorcing and leaving the Bo family, not appearing before Grandpa again, we have no other options.” Xia Qingtian’s voice was filled with sorrow.

“Mr. Bo, for Grandpa’s sake, we must divorce!”

Bo Jingyan thought of Grandpa Bo lying lifeless in the ICU, and thought of all the years he cared for him …

He swallowed hard, his voice becoming somewhat hoarse as he responded, “Alright!”

Eventually, he agreed to it!
