She said to Bo Jingyan, “Bo, you don’t have to tell me so much about Chen Momo. I really don’t want to hear the details of whatever happened between you two.”

Still deep in sleep, Xia Qingtian faintly made out the sound of someone sobbing.

The noise was hella annoying, generating within her feelings of disgust and aversion.

Half-awake, Xia Qingtian cracked open her eyes to take a peek and saw Chen Momo.

The person whose voice had annoyed her was none other than Chen Momo.

Xia Qingtian didn’t want to see Bo Jingyan and Chen Momo together. The very thought of it would involuntarily make her recall the intimacy they shared.

So she kept her eyes closed, pretending to still be asleep, while eavesdropping on Chen Momo’s crying and murmurs.

“Bo, I’m sorry, you just told me you can’t be responsible for me, but you never mentioned that I couldn’t reveal our affair to Qingtian. That’s why I accidentally told her about that night.” Chen Momo cried, looking utterly pitiable.

Bo Jingyan maintained a stoic expression.

But he was in no position to blame Chen Momo.

That night was indeed his fault to begin with and not once did he instruct her otherwise.

Thinking of Xia Qingtian’s painful expression last night when she was clutching her stomach, he decided that he didn’t want to further discuss the incident at the Imperial Hotel.

With that in mind, he interjected with a cold tone and a hint of a warning, “That event is now in the past. You should refrain from mentioning it to Qingtian, or anyone else for that matter.”

Chen Momo obediently nodded, agreeing to his condition.

Since Qingtian already knew about the affair and she was already upset to the point of potentially losing the baby, there was no reason for her to continue bringing it up.

“So, are you still mad at me, Bo?” Chen Momo nervously asked.

“I’m not angry,” Bo Jingyan responded, maintaining a neutral expression.

This time, it wasn’t Chen Momo, but the incident at the Imperial Hotel that triggered Xia Qingtian’s condition.

He saw no reason to direct his anger towards the woman he had hurt.

“I’m glad you’re not mad at me, Bo. That really sets my mind at ease,” Chen Momo let out a sigh of relief.

When she woke up in the morning and didn’t see Xia Qingtian or Bo Jingyan, she found it rather puzzling. She asked around and found out from the servants that Xia Qingtian had been taken to the hospital by Bo Jingyan after having a medical complication.

She didn’t bother with breakfast and arrived at the hospital as quickly as possible.

She was worried that Xia Qingtian would badmouth her to Bo Jingyan and ruin her image in his eyes.

When she arrived, she saw that Xia Qingtian was still asleep.

She quickly took the opportunity to apologize to Bo Jingyan and explain the situation before playing up the pity card to win Bo Jingyan’s forgiveness.

“Yaxuan?” There was a hint of an indescribable emotion flashing in his deep-set eyes. “What brings you here?”

Shen Yaxuan responded with a nonchalant smile, placing the bouquet of tulips in the vase on the bedside table.

Once that was done, he said in a casual tone, “We were supposed to sign the contract this morning, but when you didn’t show up, I grew concerned. Knowing that you’re punctual, I was worried something happened and so I had someone look into it.”

“Only then did I discover that Qingtian had an accident and you were here with her in the hospital. Whether it’s for business or friendship, I felt it was my duty to pay her a visit.”

After explaining, he glanced at Xia Qingtian. “How is she? Is Qingtian okay?”

Upon hearing this, Bo Jingyan masked the unusual emotion in his eyes and replied, “She’s fine now. She just had a minor pregnancy complication.”

“Glad to hear she’s okay.” Shen Yaxuan seemed genuinely relieved.

Following this, he noticed Chen Momo with an ever so gentle smile, “Ah, Momo, you’re here too?”

At his words, Chen Momo shivered.
