Chapter 939: Chapter 918: Do I Have Improper Thoughts About Them?
Bella Gordon hadn’t expected that Roy Thompson would actually take her to see a movie, and it was the kind of packed cinema that was overflowing with people, a dream come true at last!
For any young woman, watching a movie with the person you love is the greatest of aspirations.
"Brother Roy, I really didn’t expect you to personally take me to watch a movie!" Bella Gordon followed step by step behind Roy Thompson in line for tickets, and didn’t forget to chat with him, "If someone snaps a photo of the eminent Young Master Thompson, the future CEO queuing up here to buy movie tickets, could I become famous on social media alongside you?"
These days, not many people line up to buy movie tickets, after all, with online shopping and various electronic products offering all kinds of discounts, youngsters have already grown accustomed to that method of purchasing tickets. But Roy Thompson is different; this guy doesn’t even use Twitter or WhatsApp, those discount ticket selections, he has no clue about them!
That’s the sort of stuff his assistant would handle, or he could solve with a simple phone call. The reason he did this, Bella knew, was just to fulfill his promise of having a proper relationship, he had said that whatever other couples could do, he could do with her as well!
"Social media fame?" Roy Thompson, not quite familiar with such gossip terms, didn’t catch on for a moment, but he soon understood, "You mean that kind of internet celebrity?"
"Yes, a lot of people become internet sensations just by doing the most ordinary things, like a beautiful policewoman, or someone taking care of a 98-year-old grandma, any small act that sparks an online sensation can make you famous. Just like you, the formidable Young Master, personally accompanying your girlfriend to buy tickets would definitely make you the hottest topic online!"
"Do you want me to become an internet celebrity?" Roy asked, frowning, upon hearing this peculiar explanation.
"Of course not! You’re already so handsome, and you’ve got plenty of attention without being famous. If you were to become an internet sensation, I’d be busy fighting off mistresses all day and have no time for anything else!" Bella’s mind involuntarily conjured up images of Roy Thompson, famous online, with countless nympho girls drooling over his photo. Just the thought gave her the creeps, "So, to avoid you accidentally blowing up on the internet, I’ve decided it’s better not to take you out too much in the future, otherwise, it’s only a matter of time before you catch someone’s eye!"
"Are you sure it’s me they’re interested in?" Roy Thompson glanced at the men eyeing Bella from not too far away and his expression darkened, "Clearly, you’re the one drawing attention!"
It seems that these second-generation scions of wealthy families really aren’t cut out for a normal life or a normal love life like everyone else.
While saying this, Roy Thompson pulled Bella Gordon from behind him straight into his arms, then cast a cold glance at the group of men staring at her and said a few words to the ticket window, "Couple ticket!"
His voice was loud, as if afraid the people around wouldn’t hear it. Bella felt like laughing. Her Brother Roy seemed so childish. With the two of them so intimate, anyone could tell they were a couple—did they even need to say it?
"Brother Roy, you’re so childish!"
"Childish? They were all staring at you, shouldn’t I assert my rights?" The girl was just too eye-catching, not really a good thing. With her just standing there, countless eyes were fixated on her in desire, something he couldn’t stand, "I can’t bear to see their covetous eyes on you again. Next time you want to watch a movie, we’ll reserve the whole theater!"
This was the first time, a chance to experience it. Next time they watched a movie, he certainly wouldn’t accompany those ogling men!
"Pfft!"
Bella couldn’t help but burst out laughing, "A private screening, then why even go to the cinema? We might as well watch it in the home theater. Going to the cinema is all about enjoying the atmosphere and the crowd. Brother Roy, you really don’t understand romance!"
"I’m not unromantic, I just can’t stand those people ogling your beauty!"
His wife’s beauty was to be coveted by him alone!
"Pfft!"
Bella found she couldn’t suppress her laughter, "Brother Roy, you’re just too adorable. In a crowd, who doesn’t take a few glances at who? Don’t mention me being so good-looking, even someone wearing something particularly attractive or fashionable gets extra looks. If you worry about that, you’ll have no time for meals, just living on jealousy!"
Roy Thompson: "..."
Jealous every day?
"Yes, when they stare at you, I get jealous!"
Any man would understand how terrible it feels to have other men eyeing his woman!
"They don’t like me, they just think I’m pretty to look at!" They all brought their own women, they all have girlfriends, how could they like her? It’s just a momentary infatuation with beauty, a human’s natural desire for wonderful things. "But that’s not the point, the point is..."
"What is the point?" Roy Thompson couldn’t help but ask anxiously, before even thinking about it. Such an infuriating issue, and yet there’s a main point to it, "I might just buy this cinema out of spite!"
Bella Gordon: "..."
"The point is, I don’t like them at all, so what exactly are you jealous of?"
If she liked someone else, that would be a reason to be jealous, but if there’s not even liking, where does the jealousy come from?
"Can’t I just be straightforwardly jealous?"
"Then why buy the cinema? It’ll be empty, and even ghosts will come out!"
Bella Gordon was flabbergasted, "A cinema needs people to be a cinema, after you buy it you’ll need people to watch movies too!"
"Then only women are allowed to come watch, and men aren’t allowed to come in and drool over you, that will solve the problem!"
Bella Gordon: "..."
"Allowing only women to watch, Roy Thompson, your ideas are really something!" Bella Gordon slapped his shoulder hard, "You really would enjoy the company, a bunch of women watching movies with you, do you really want a harem? When men glance at me, that’s drooling, but when it comes to you, they can all watch movies with you?"
"Cough cough, that’s because I have no improper thoughts toward them, I treat them all like air!"
"You think I have improper thoughts about them?"
What a joke, with such an excellent man around, would she even give that group a glance? Obviously impossible!
Roy Thompson said calmly, "But they have improper thoughts about you!"
"And those women have no improper thoughts about you?" Bella Gordon had had enough of him, his brain must’ve gone haywire after four years in America, "Roy Thompson, is it right to have such double standards?"
"Then... well, then let’s not buy the cinema, that should be fine, right?"
"Bravo, Young Master Thompson, it’s really something to be so rich, isn’t it? They show you one movie and you want to buy their cinema, soon all the cinema owners are going to want to bow down to you!"
Her clear voice was laden with laughter, and the next moment Mia Rowen’s familiar face clearly appeared before them, "Long time no see, you two. You’re back and didn’t even say hello!"
