Chapter 830: Chapter 809 Alternative Bridal Chamber!
Chapter 809
He had imagined a million different reactions the little girl might have upon hearing those words, but never this one—caught off-guard, Michael Gordon found himself at a loss for words!
"Daddy, daddy, hurry and take me to see mommy!" The little girl seemed ecstatic, squealing before she hurried Michael Gordon to bring her to her mother, "And the little brother and sister, do they look cute? Do they look like me when I was little?"
Michael Gordon: "..."
Michael Gordon was once again rendered speechless!
"Baby, your mommy just gave birth to your brother and sister and lost a lot of blood, so she’s resting right now. Let’s not disturb her rest, okay? Tomorrow morning, we’ll go see them, alright?" Earlier he had told Ivy Aretha that Bianca had already gone to sleep; to bring her there squealing now would obviously blow their cover.
"Oh!" Hearing this, the little girl’s mood immediately calmed down, and being sensible, she quickly understood, "Then let’s let mommy rest well. I’ll visit mommy and my little brother and sister tomorrow morning! Oh, by the way, daddy, have you picked out names for the little brother and sister? What are they called?"
"Well, how could daddy decide on names without his treasure?" Michael Gordon said, laughing as he kissed the little girl’s forehead, and then carried her toward her bedroom, "Daddy will sleep with you tonight and be your assistant, so we can come up with nice names for the little brother and sister together!"
"Daddy, are you going to sleep with me tonight?"
It had been quite a while since she last slept with daddy and mommy; to be precise, ever since mommy was pregnant with the little baby, she hadn’t stayed with them. Despite feeling a bit neglected, the little girl was understanding enough to grasp her parents’ situation!
Now that the brother and sister had been born, and daddy said he’d sleep with her, it felt great, assuring her that she was still cherished!
"Of course!" Seeing the spark in his daughter’s eyes, Michael Gordon knew what she was thinking. Smiling, he tousled her hair and continued walking, holding her in one arm and taking her little hand to press her fingerprint and unlock the door with the other, "No matter how many babies daddy and mommy have, you will always be the biggest treasure in their hearts. In the future, your little brother and sister will have to listen to you, because you are the big sister!"
Big sister, huh!
That sounded so impressive!
"Thank you, daddy, thank you, mommy. As the big sister, I will definitely protect daddy and mommy and take good care of my little brother and sister!" With that thought, she became even more eager to see her little brother and sister, but for the sake of letting mommy rest properly, she held back her feelings.
As a result, the father and daughter lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep. Eventually, the two too-excited individuals simply gave up on sleeping and got up, beginning to think of names for the newborns.
Oliver Thompson, who had been intent on celebrating his wedding night passionately, was kicked out of the bedroom by Julia Harrison for his failure to look after his own son properly, leading to the youngster getting hurt. He ended up having to go to sleep in Roy Thompson’s room, his bold declarations made earlier to Michael Gordon of spending the wedding night creating a daughter utterly shattered.
In the end, he could only sleep alone restlessly!
In contrast to these two pairs—one having turned a bridal chamber’s celebration into the joy of new children, the other seeing long-planned hopes of capitalizing on someone else’s bridal chamber romance to fulfill his bedding dreams dashed—Mario Jensen and Jaysen Smith were both peacefully accompanying their wives in sleep!
After all, for dealing with Alya Larson, Michael Gordon and Oliver Thompson were enough, and they did not disturb the other two, so both men settled down in their rooms. Furthermore, having had a little too much to drink at Michael and Ivy’s wedding reception, they were now sleeping deeply, utterly unaware of the commotion outside!
Adam, having finished the tasks Michael Gordon had assigned to him, found it was now midnight; yet, as he stood at the door of his own room, he hesitated. To enter or not to enter?
In strict terms, his situation was just like Michael’s: it was a day meant for wedding celebrations, although theirs was just a wedding, theirs was registering the marriage, theirs was deep love, he, on the other hand, was simply gifted with a pie from the sky, a beauty who had fallen into his lap!
Given the circumstances, what to do about this bridal chamber?
It wasn’t that he deliberately wanted to take advantage, but in the dead of night, he didn’t know how to face the Goddess he liked. The Goddess, who once seemed so unattainable, had suddenly become his wife, and he felt not only surprise but also... terror!
It was a terror that made him fear it was all but a dream, destined to dissipate in a blink.
While there was an advantage to be taken, taking advantage of someone wasn’t what a real man would do. But if he didn’t go in, where would he stay tonight?
Clearly, Michael Gordon hadn’t arranged another room for him, only this one!
Sleep in the corridor?
Get someone to open another room?
He could do that, but if it became known, it wouldn’t just be his own embarrassment at stake. Perhaps he should just go in and sleep on the sofa in the room?
But would she feel uncomfortable with that?
Adam anxiously paced back and forth at the door, agonizing over it in the group chat. Finally, he decided to go in and sleep on the sofa, reasoning that losing face alone was better than both of them losing face on their wedding night by being too scared to sleep in the same room.
Just as he was about to press his fingerprint to open the door, he hesitated, wondering if she might be taking a shower.
If she was showering and he barged in, she would probably see him as a peeping Tom, wouldn’t she?
With this thought, Adam’s hand, which was about to press the fingerprint to unlock the door, withdrew. He thought it best to wait a little longer and try again later. Surely she wouldn’t be showering at one or two in the morning?
But he had barely turned around when the door behind him opened.
"Adam, you’re back!"
Ariana Hunt looked at the man about to turn and leave with a hint of amusement, speaking softly with a light smile gracing her gentle features. She had been waiting for him to return since receiving a call from Michael Gordon saying that he would be back late due to urgent business, apologizing for the delay in their bridal chamber night.
So, as soon as she heard some noise, she prepared to get up and open the door for him. All she’d seen through the peephole before opening it was the man outside pacing and muttering to himself, showing signs of reluctance to enter the room, and then even looking like he was about to walk away!
The hotel arrangements had been fixed, and since it was their wedding day, Michael Gordon certainly wouldn’t have arranged for a separate room for them. Was he planning to... sleep on the beach?
"Yeah, just finished my business. Did I wake you?" Caught in the act by his own wife, and especially since that wife happened to be his Goddess, Adam was too embarrassed to even lift his head.
"No, I haven’t slept yet!"
Ariana Hunt smiled faintly and then pulled the door open a little wider. "Hurry up and come in. You’ve been busy all night. I’ve drawn a hot bath for you. Go take a shower, and then rest!"
Eh?
What’s going on here?
Adam’s mind was a mess, mostly because happiness had come so suddenly!
