Chapter 827: Chapter 806 Mr. Situ’s Impressive Display
Alya Larson’s words were not yet finished when they were abruptly interrupted by a cold voice at the entrance, Michael Gordon and Oliver Thompson appeared before her at the same time.
The moment Oliver Thompson entered, his gaze was drawn to the scarlet wound on Roy Thompson’s neck, his already frosty face dropping several degrees colder, his fists cracking as he clenched them.
With a cold face, Michael Gordon said nothing as he walked over to Bella Gordon, bent down, and scooped the little guy up from the ground.
Bella Gordon had maintained her tense body until she fell into the familiar embrace of Michael Gordon and then burst into tears, crying, "Daddy!"
"I’m sorry, daddy was late and scared you, baby," Michael Gordon bent down to kiss his daughter’s cheek to comfort her, and only after a moment did he raise his head to glare at Alya Larson. "You really are something, aren’t you? Daring to lay a hand on my daughter?!"
"It seems, keeping you locked up for a few years clearly wasn’t enough. How about we send you straight to the crematorium instead, since you clearly don’t want to live!"
If she wanted to live, she wouldn’t dare touch his daughter, nor would she dare to watch Oliver Thompson’s son get injured!
"No, Bella, remember the oath you just swore. If you didn’t follow through, those words can come true!"
With the simultaneous arrival of Oliver Thompson and Michael Gordon, followed by Adam and a group of Special Forces, she knew that even if she had the ability to fly, it would be useless. She could only use the so-called oath to scare a child, knowing that as long as it involved Ivy Aretha, the girl would likely keep her promise!
"The condition is that you release Brother Roy. You haven’t done it yet, so the oath doesn’t count. It’s not that I broke it, but you did!"
Hearing about the oath, Michael Gordon’s already slightly furrowed brows now creased into a deep ’frown,’ looking at his precious daughter in his arms with some puzzlement, but he dare not ask. After all, the little one was frightened. It’s still better to keep silent at this time!
"Alright, alright, I’ll release him right now!"
"Do you think, aside from releasing him, there’s anything else you can do?" Oliver Thompson waved a dart in his hand, one that she had never noticed before, flipping it coldly for a few moments. "Your hairpin is clearly not as fast as my dart!"
"I’ll release him right now!"
With a single fatal move, Oliver Thompson was definitely capable of following through, she had heard that Michael Gordon had an International Special Forces iron buddy, a man of weird temperament, not fond of communicating with others, and she had never seen him. However, she had met Julie Harrison quite a few times. Seeing him today was indeed a case of ’seeing is believing.’
He was just as indifferent as the legends!
Life was but the blink of an eye to him, she had just died once and did not wish to die again, her grip loosened, and the hairpin she had been clutching fell to the ground.
"Bella, I’ve released your Brother Roy, so you need to keep the oath you swore, or else your..."
"Shut up, how many times do I have to tell you my name is Bella Gordon? I keep my word; you released Brother Roy, and now I want my daddy to let you go!" Bella Gordon hated when people called her Bianca Aretha, for a very simple reason—initially, because Calvin Gordon refused to allow Ivy Aretha into the Gordon family and did not acknowledge her as his granddaughter. She couldn’t share her daddy’s family name. If she continued with the surname Aretha, wouldn’t it mean that she and her mommy were not accepted by the Gordon family!
Obviously, that was not the case now, but the pain of the past cast a shadow deep in her heart, violently bursting out upon hearing that surname.
"Oath? Baby, what kind of oath did you swear?"
Michael Gordon looked at his precious daughter obediently following this woman’s words and was obviously surprised. It didn’t fit with the little girl’s usual style of holding grudges. He really wanted to know what this cruel woman had done to his precious daughter to make her so compliant, to the point of begging for mercy when told to do so.
"I’m sorry, Daddy, I did something very wrong, but I had no choice. This bad woman wanted to kill Brother Roy, and I had to listen to her and make a poisonous oath. Otherwise, if Brother Roy died, anything we did would be too late!"
As Bianca Aretha spoke, she was so ashamed that she was about to cry, her head hanging lower and lower in fear that Michael Gordon would be disappointed with her performance. It was unprecedented for the little girl to show such an expression.
Michael Gordon’s heart felt as if it had been stabbed. His precious daughter had been bullied and forced to make a poisonous oath because he hadn’t protected her well enough. At such a young age, she had to bear such a heavy decision. Needless to say, the shadow of the poisonous oath on the little girl was no small matter.
"Baby, Daddy understands you. No matter what oath you made, or whatever you ask Daddy to do, I will listen to you!"
What he could do now was to support the little girl’s decision without hesitation, and show her through his actions that Daddy didn’t blame her, even if it was to curse Daddy to death!
"Then Daddy, let that bad woman go, because she swore that if she released Brother Roy, and I couldn’t persuade you to spare her, she would be sent to Julie Harrison. Then Mommy wouldn’t be able to have children, and I wouldn’t have a little brother!"
As Bianca Aretha spoke, she sobbed pitifully, her large eyes brimming with tears, as if a pear blossom bathed in rain, almost making Michael Gordon want to cry along with her, "I can’t let Mommy be unable to have children, and I can’t be without a little brother, so Daddy, please spare this bad woman, okay?"
"Is this the oath you made?"
Only after Bianca Aretha had finished speaking did Michael Gordon look at her with a smile and speak.
"Yes, that’s the one!"
"Then don’t worry, my darling. Your Mommy won’t be unable to have children because... your Mommy just gave birth to a brother and a sister for you. So, baby, your oath doesn’t matter, because Daddy wasn’t planning to let your Mommy have any more children after this, anyway. So it’s not really an oath, it’s just the truth—your Mommy won’t have any more children!"
Bianca Aretha: "..."
Can it really work like that?
"Daddy, did Mommy really give me a brother and a sister?" Thinking this, Bianca Aretha felt relieved that she hadn’t been forced by the bad woman to make the phone call earlier, otherwise it could have affected Mommy giving birth, and that would have been unimaginable.
"Bianca Aretha, didn’t you hear what your daddy said? Your Mommy gave birth to a brother for you. If you can’t do it, your brother will die. Who made it so that if you can’t do it, you won’t have a little brother?"
Alya Larson was a woman with meticulous thoughts. In the conversation, she quickly caught the loopholes and, as this was her only way to survival, she definitely wouldn’t stop trying.
"Exactly, so Daddy, please agree with me. It’s wrong what I did, but..."
"Baby, you didn’t do anything wrong. Whatever you say, Daddy will agree to because..."
"It’s because I’ll clean up the mess for you, right?" Michael Gordon was interrupted halfway through his sentence by Oliver Thompson, the dart sliding between his fingers. He glanced at Roy Thompson, who was still paralyzed with shock from being released by Alya Larson, and said indifferently, "Roy, heroes always use their brains. This is your second time failing to play the hero. Come over to Daddy now!"
