Chapter 803: Chapter 782: Those who have wronged you only deserve to stay in there!

But what he hadn’t expected was that the so-called normal family environment Calvin Gordon wanted to give his son was not what the boy desired; instead, it became a barrier between father and son—a barrier that lasted nearly twenty years!

The knot that had never been untied was finally loosened that day!

Only upon its unraveling did he realize the depth of love his father had borne!

A promise made even in death could push one to the brink of an abyss, to let down a woman for a lifetime, to long for her for a lifetime, and at the same time, to feel a lifetime’s guilt toward another. Today, Skyler Gordon finally exhausted all his life’s regrets.

"Take me inside to join them?" Alya Larson laughed wildly as if she had heard the biggest joke in the world. She was confident that she had done nothing to deserve imprisonment; she was clever and astute, and though she had not avoided committing vile deeds, she had never left any evidence behind.

"Do you really think you’re the Emperor of Andras City, sending people to prison as you please, without regard to the law?"

At this point, Alya Larson no longer cared about her image in his eyes, for caring was futile; no matter what she was like, in the eyes of a man, she could never measure up to Ivy Aretha’s lack of image!

Since that was the case, all the pent-up frustration in her heart exploded in a rush!

"This is a society ruled by law, Michael Gordon, not somewhere you can do as you please. What kind of skill is it to threaten people, what kind of man does that make you?"

Ha!

This woman really had the nerve to say that!

"I don’t need to be capable, I’m already a married man. As for what kind of man I am, you don’t need to know, my wife does!"

The angrier the woman, the clearer it became that she was at her wit’s end. Evidently, this matter was something her so-called new boyfriend, Sammy Lowe, couldn’t help with. The evidence of Skyler Gordon’s attempt to murder his own father was irrefutable, as solid as iron, and a few years in prison seemed inevitable.

And Michael Gordon did not plan to withdraw the lawsuit against such a person.

Ivy Aretha: ...

They were having a proper conversation; how did it turn into questioning whether he was a man or not?

"Besides, I, Michael Gordon, do threaten people, who allowed their flaws to be exploited by me?" Michael Gordon said coldly, his hand resting on Ivy Aretha’s shoulder, the smirk in his eyes seemed as though he would tear someone apart, "I had intended to let you go, after all, you did help, albeit unknowingly, in the effort to bring Ivy Aretha back from Orchid Kingdom. Unfortunately, while I intended to let you go, you didn’t wish to be free, but instead came right to me. So don’t blame me for not being polite!"

The words "not being polite" were almost gritted out through his teeth, and upon hearing them, a chill went down Alya Larson’s spine, a bad premonition creeping into her heart. Before she could even suspect, Michael Gordon’s voice, low and ice-cold, fell upon her.

"Would you say that risking half of your own life to kill a love rival counts as attempted murder?" Michael Gordon’s gaze was piercing as he stared at the trembling face of the woman opposite him, his grip on the woman in his arms tightened, as if fearing his next words might frighten her. But it was something that needed to be said, otherwise his woman might again become overwhelmed with sympathy, causing trouble—like the mess that Yuri Sanders created out of her overflowing sympathy last time.

In Michael Gordon’s world, no matter who it was or what kind of person they were, if they did something wrong, they had to bear the consequences that came with the wrongdoings. Otherwise, anyone could make mistakes carelessly and disregard the lives of others!

As expected, the moment Alya Larson heard what he said, her complexion instantly changed. The slight flush on her face sank to rock bottom in an instant, and she was beyond the point of collapse!

"Alya Larson, you really are ruthless. To take Ivy Aretha’s life, you even dared to gamble with your own. Didn’t you think that you could also be killed in the collision? Oh, but that’s impossible. After all, you are a professional racer. Such a big accident, you can easily save your own life, but the possibility of being severely injured is actually quite significant!"

As Michael Gordon spoke, he nodded, his mind swiftly reviewing the accident scene’s investigation report over and over, "To take the life of a love rival, you did not hesitate to kill an innocent truck driver. If trying to kill Ivy Aretha was attempted murder, then the death of this truck driver is obviously a successful murder. So, do you think I have the right to threaten someone?"

"Michael, what are you talking about? I don’t understand what you mean?"

Ivy Aretha felt somewhat dizzy, but at that moment, in addition to being dizzy, she also felt terrified. The implication behind Michael Gordon’s words was that Alya Larson once harbored the thought of killing her?

It was less that she couldn’t understand and more that she was afraid to understand!

Jealousy and rivalry between love rivals is an almost universal phenomenon in society. It’s no more than white lotus green tea bitches that drug someone or get them drunk, strip off their clothes, crawl into someone’s bed, then take compromising photos to show off, or stealthily send messages to create misunderstandings. Aside from these clichéd tactics, at worst, they’re shameless women clinging on persistently, pretending to be the legitimate wife while shamelessly trying to drive away the female lead. These worn-out strategies were almost never fully utilized by Alya Larson; she thought perhaps because she and her love rivals belonged to a higher class, they knew when they had no chance and would reserve their dignity, give up, and find a better man to prove that they, too, could marry well!

Almost the moment she saw Alya Larson showing kindness towards her with Sammy Lowe, Ivy Aretha had thought just that!

But it turns out that things were not as she imagined. The woman who seemed to hold a higher rank and status was not what she had imagined. She was not more high-level; she was just more ruthless!

If it was as Michael Gordon now claimed, was the car accident that nearly took her life last time not an accident, but murder?

The word "murder" expanded endlessly in Ivy Aretha’s mind, plunging her into a state of terror. She had always thought she was just fortunate to survive such a huge accident, but now she realized it wasn’t luck at all—Michael Gordon had rescued her from a deliberate murder attempt!

Yuri Sanders wanted her life, Calvin Gordon had wanted her life, and now she belatedly realized that Alya Larson had also wanted her life. Unbeknownst to her, so many people had wanted her dead!

My goodness!

Was it luck or was it fate that she lived until now?

She questioned herself; she had never wronged anyone, yet paradoxically, those who wanted her dead could be anyone!

"Wife, it’s all in the past. As long as your husband is by your side, no one will be able to hurt you," Michael Gordon consoled the trembling woman with soft kisses, "It’s all over, don’t be scared. Those who have hurt you, they only deserve to stay locked away!"
