Chapter 753: Chapter 732: Saving Lives

"Mom, I’m not leaving, what right do I have to leave? I want to get my rightful inheritance!"

Skyler Gordon fiercely shook off Risa Scott’s hand, frantically rummaging through the drawers of Calvin Gordon’s study table, searching for anything related to inheritance. After all, elderly wealthy people usually have some inheritance-related documents at this stage of their lives.

Calvin Gordon had heart disease, which became more serious as he grew older. Doctors had advised him several times not to be agitated, as a sudden incident could easily lead to his death. Skyler simply could not believe that his grandfather would not have left a suicide note.

So, Skyler must find that note, either altering it and forging a new thumbprint signature, or outright destroying it.

No matter which option he chose, Skyler had to finish it before others discovered Calvin’s death, or he would have no chance at collecting his inheritance. As the eldest son of the Gordon family, he could not bear to have less than his older brother. He was also a legitimate heir of the Gordon family.

"Skyler, let’s go. Once he’s dead, it’ll all be yours. Remember, today it was Michael Gordon who angered him!"

Risa Scott glanced at the time, ignoring her frenzied son. She stood up, forcefully pulling Skyler’s hand as he crazily searched for the suicide note, trying to hasten his exit. "If we don’t leave now, it’ll be too late..."

"Bang!" The door was suddenly kicked open from the outside.

The door lock was smashed onto the ground.

"It’s too late to leave now!"

The man’s voice sounded cold and icy, as if it came straight from hell. "Quick, save him on the spot! Other people, leave the lounge."

As Michael Gordon’s command fell, the study was completely surrounded by white-coated doctors and uniformed police officers, each stepping back cautiously.

Risa Scott and Skyler immediately stopped in their tracks, both stunned as they stood on the ground, dumbfounded. As evidence and witnesses converged, it seemed both were caught red-handed, and any explanations seemed to have been stuck deep in their throats.

The doctors exerted every effort to resuscitate Calvin Gordon, while Michael’s expression grew darker and darker. However, he stayed silent, clenching both fists so tightly they were about to burst.

"If you can’t save him, it won’t be as simple as losing your jobs!"

After coldly throwing this statement at the cardiovascular specialists, Michael found the time to sweep his freezing eyes over Risa Scott and Skyler. "If something happens to my dad, you two better be prepared for burial alive!"

Risa Scott tried to say something, but before she could open her mouth, Michael interrupted her as if he knew precisely what she would say. "Don’t expect the police to help you. If murder requires compensation, I just want to advance the compensation!"

How would things have ended if they had arrived a bit later? Would there have been only a chance to collect his father’s body left?

With his memory restored, he now remembered all the past events. Although he held a grudge against Calvin for marrying Risa Scott so soon after his mother’s death, it was merely resentment since Calvin was his father.

It wasn’t that he would never return home, but he was waiting for Calvin to give into Ivy Aretha, the woman he was going to marry. As her man, he had to fight for her, but that didn’t mean he would abandon his father.

Moreover, Ivy would never accept a man who would disown his father due to a woman, no matter the reason.

"It wasn’t like that, Michael. Listen to me, it wasn’t like that. How could we kill someone? We were husband and wife for just one day, but that’s enough bond to form a connection..."

Confessing at this juncture would be courting death. Risa Scott wasn’t that stupid."

She continued, "I’m his wife, why should I want to kill him? Skyler was just talking out of frustration because you transferred all the Allure International shares to an outsider, Ivy Aretha. That’s why your dad’s heartache started. When I came over and found out your father had gotten so angry that he destroyed his own study, Skyler, still young and naive, didn’t know how to comfort him and kept fueling the fire instead. That’s why this situation happened. Michael, you know how your dad felt about Ivy Aretha back then, right? Their enmity couldn’t coexist peacefully. You marrying Ivy was something he couldn’t stop from happening, but what you’re doing now is like rubbing salt in his wound."

Risa Scott had no idea how Michael appeared so promptly at the Gordon Mansion, accompanied by so many backup personnel, but she could be certain that he only heard their last conversation. After all, with his temperament, he wouldn’t have had the patience to eavesdrop at the study door while they tormented his father.

He liked simplicity and brute force. Risa banked on the fact that before kicking the door open, he hadn’t heard their initial conversation since the soundproofing of Calvin Gordon’s study was exceptional!

Excellent, very excellent indeed!

Having found such a great excuse, she really was a scheming woman. No wonder she could win over the blind old man of the Gordon family. This excuse was perfect and could kill two birds with one stone. No one would suspect her, even Ivy Aretha would assume the problem was caused by the transfer of shares!

Once he considered this possibility, Michael felt chills run down his spine. Such vicious acts could only be carried out by venomous women!

He only regretted losing his memory back then, for otherwise, he wouldn’t be in this position today.

"Risa Scott, if you don’t mind being tired and want to keep telling us stories, go and do it outside of the study. Don’t waste the air we breathe!" Michael’s freezing voice announced her last struggle’s failure. "Before you play cunning tricks in front of me, you should weigh in your ability to deceive me!"

"Let me tell you, don’t think you can wash your hands of this with just a few words. I’m telling you, I installed surveillance cameras and voice recorders in my dad’s study, so everything that happened here, we’ll soon find out!"

As he spoke, Michael called out to the people at the door, "Aren’t you coming in to take away all the hidden cameras and voice recorders I installed in my dad’s room?"

"Yes, Mr. Gordon!"

Upon hearing Michael’s words, two men entered directly from the door, efficiently removing the devices from their hidden locations.

Indeed, Michael caught Risa Scott’s face growing pale, inch by inch, as her hands held Skyler tightly. Due to the strength of her grip, even her knuckles protruded as her entire body started to tremble from the nervousness.

"What, scared now?"
