The agent was dumbstruck upon hearing this.

"Ariana Hunt, are you out of your mind? After such a struggle to finally grasp this opportunity to gain fame, barely having made much money, you’re going to get married now? Have you lost it?"

Ariana had always bounced around the third-tier until she gained popularity by acting in a New Year’s film. With the endorsement of Ivy Aretha, Allure International’s CEO’s Wife, claiming she was a powerful actress, Allure International’s director tailored a few movies that became worldwide hits for her. She just began to wear the title of the new "Goddess of the Republic" and hadn’t even gotten used to it when she started talking about getting married. This wasn’t something a normal person would do.

Without waiting for her agent’s response, she hung up the phone.

The next afternoon, Michael Gordon discharged himself from the hospital, leaving Bella in the care of Julie Harrison. He thought he would be fine going to the Orchid Kingdom alone since Oliver Thompson had already headed over, and Sammy Lowe is likely to leak information to him for the sake of money.

However, Jaysen, anxious about Gordon’s injury, decided to secretly follow him overseas.

Lina awoke on the third day.

"My baby!"

On the morning of the third day, Lina woke up due to a nightmare, her forehead soaked in sweat. Seeing Mario Jensen’s worried face, Lina remembered the events of the day and touched her flat abdomen out of habit. It was as if her baby had never been there.

If it weren’t for the burning pain from down below, Lina would’ve thought it to be all just a dream.

"Lina!"

Seeing Lina sweat profusely upon waking up, Mario Jensen gently wiped the sweat from her forehead with a wet towel, comforting her, "Our baby’s gone to heaven now. The baby sister told me that once mom’s health improves so that she can welcome him, he will come again!"

These words were intended to comfort Lina. However, as Mario said them, he could not help but feel a sour sensation welling up in his eyes.

God knows how much he wanted the child to be born. That was his flesh and blood. Regrettably, he didn’t have a say in the matter. If he could, he would have gladly traded his own life to ensure the baby’s safety. Unfortunately, such a trade wasn’t an option!

Mario had never felt so powerless in his life before. He could only watch helplessly as the execution was about to take place, all the while forcing himself to stay strong.

"No further explanations, Mario!"

Lina stared intensely at Mario. Her trembling hand lightly brushed the corner of his eye as she barely managed to put on a faint smile, "I understand it all. Our baby’s departure saved Ivy’s family of three. Our baby understood our dilemma and didn’t want us to bear the burden of having to make a tough decision. That’s why I was given the opportunity to save Ivy’s life!"

She preferred to die saving Ivy rather than gritting her teeth and signing to remove her child.

"Alright, we won’t talk about it anymore!"

Mario Jensen gently pecked Lina’s forehead and asked, "What do you want to eat now?"

"I’m not hungry!"

After experiencing a life or death situation and losing her child, where would Lina get an appetite from? Saying she had let go of these feelings and truly letting go were two entirely different things!

"Even if you’re not hungry, you need to eat. Your mom brought some soup for you. Let me feed you some, okay?"

Mario Jensen spoke while opening the nutritional soup brought by Mrs. Jensen, and proceeded to raise the hospital bed. Seeing him speak so earnestly, Lina came out of her trance and asked, "Is Ivy back?"

Before she had fallen unconscious, she remembered Ivy being taken away by someone claiming to be from Orchid Kingdom. If something were to happen, her baby’s sacrifice would have been in vain. Thinking this, Lina couldn’t help but get anxious.

"Ivy was taken away by her cousin. Yesterday, Michael set off for Orchid Kingdom. In a few days, he will bring Ivy back, just in time for her delivery. After giving birth, they’ll have thier wedding, and we’ll attend!"

Mario Jensen did not hide anything about Ivy’s situation from Lina, although he put a lighter spin on the matter.

"Are you sure there is no issue? The look her so-called cousin gave me didn’t seem promising at all!" This thought made Lina push Mario Jensen, "I’m fine now, you can leave me to be taken care of by Alette. Please go assist Michael. Let’s save Ivy first and bring her back home. Otherwise, I won’t be at peace!"

The person whose life she saved with that of her child’s could not afford to suffer any more harm.
