Chapter 675: Chapter 654: About the Collective Bridal Chamber
"Ahem, so who’s going to volunteer?"
Jaysen Smith could easily tell what Alette Larson was thinking, and deliberately glanced at Lucas Sandy as he spoke. However, he noticed that Lucas’s gaze was fixed on Alette, who was trying her best to remain inconspicuous.
"Me, me, me! I volunteer!"
Before Jaysen could respond, Jeno Smith quickly grabbed the task nobody else wanted. "Since I’m so willing to demonstrate, can I choose my partner among the bridesmaids? Can I, Brother Jaysen?"
Such a rare opportunity – if he missed it, he’d be a fool. Ever since he saw Alette’s true appearance, Jeno had been regretting giving away such a good chance to confess his feelings. Now that the opportunity was in front of him, how could he let it go?
"You can choose anyone but Alette Larson!"
Before Jaysen could respond, Lucas Sandy’s cold words outright denied Jeno’s request. Everyone, including Alette, was surprised that Lucas would say such a thing, and all eyes were on him.
"Why?" Jeno wailed in protest. "Isn’t Alette a bridesmaid? Since she’s a bridesmaid, this is her job today!"
Jaysen: "..."
His little cousin’s love-struck motivations were too obvious. Seizing this opportunity to take advantage of the young woman, Jaysen thought, why did Jeno have to set his sights on someone who wields a scalpel? Careful, or she might not be happy and give you a taste of her blade!
Jaysen was about to say something, but Lucas coldly interrupted him.
"Indeed, bridesmaids are meant to do this kind of thing. However, Alette Larson has already been promised to me during the process of escorting the bride. So, she can’t demonstrate this bridal chamber matter with you. If you want to demonstrate, find another bridesmaid!"
Doctors are usually straightforward, especially when it comes to matters concerning Alette – even more so.
Alette was momentarily stunned, her mind exploding with confusion. Was Lucas trying to help or cause more chaos?
Or was he trying to snatch away her love life?
What did he really mean?
"Uncle Lucas, are you going to marry Auntie Alette?"
Bianca Gordon, swaying her head, glanced at the blushing Alette and Lucas, who was looking at her, before asking with big, serious eyes.
"Fool, of course Uncle Lucas will marry Auntie Alette since he likes her!" Roy Thompson, standing next to Alette, rolled his eyes and spoke disdainfully after hearing Bianca’s words.
"Oh, so that’s how it is!"
Being called a fool by her own Brother Roy, little Bianca had to quickly learn. She nodded and then looked at Lucas with a sudden realization. "Uncle Sandy, if you like Auntie Alette, you should go to the bridal chamber with her instead of just watching!"
She even reached out for Alette with her tiny hand, gesturing to release her. Seeing that Alette didn’t move, Bianca spoke again: "Auntie Alette, let me down. I want to go and talk to Brother Roy!"
All eyes in the bridal chamber were on Miss Gordon, her words ringing true: if you like someone, go to the bridal chamber, not just stand and watch.
Wow, Mr. Gordon’s genes are truly impressive. This little girl is so young yet so influential.
Alette hesitated as the little girl wriggled to be let down, and the handsome little boy on the ground kept looking up at the little princess in Alette’s arms. Despite her reluctance, Alette had no choice but to finally let go of the little girl under everyone’s gaze.
Upon landing, the little girl didn’t immediately look for her Brother Roy, but instead ran straight up to Lucas and grabbed his hand, pulling him toward Alette. She even seriously said in a childish voice, "Uncle Lucas, you’re so lame. If you like someone, just confess and chase after them! Standing around talking nonsense is useless. Compared to my dad, you’re so far behind!"
Her dad went all out when he fell in love with her mom, using every trick in the book until her mom couldn’t resist and surrendered.
Uncle Lucas was just talking and nothing more, so pathetic!
"Ahem..."
Under everyone’s watchful gaze, Lucas deeply looked at Alette, who was blushing and not far away, and let the little girl pull him right in front of Alette. The eyes in the bridal chamber focused on Miss Gordon, as well as the movements of this pair of best man and bridesmaid.
Causing chaos in the bridal chamber was usually directed at the bride and groom, which just so happened – they’d brought it upon themselves. Naturally, everyone was more than happy to watch.
"Wow!"
"Wow!"
"Kneel down! Propose!"
"Give her a French kiss of commitment!"
"Bridal chamber! Bridal chamber! Bridal chamber!"
Amidst cheering, clapping, and a cacophony of voices, the excitement in the bridal chamber rose again, never-ending.
Oliver Thompson gently wrapped his arm around Julie Harrison’s shoulder. Moving his lips to her ear, he whispered softly, "Even Lucas is going to the bridal chamber. Wife, how about we just go together tonight?"
As it turned out, Mr. Thompson was genuinely unlucky – ever since his last big meal, he hadn’t enjoyed the life of a normal man. It had been almost half a year without any married life, and Julie had just forgiven him and was preparing to live a good life and have a second child when the matter of Sienna Harrison arose. His wife was angry and had moved in with their two children to sleep.
He couldn’t help but blame himself for what had happened. If he hadn’t asked Jaysen to drive him out that day, they wouldn’t have been plotted against, and they would still have their child. Over this long period of time, his heartache went untreated, and Julie punished him by keeping her distance.
Even he could say that he was responsible for their child’s loss!
Fortunately, they had come through it, with their current happiness perhaps due to the joy of the wedding. Emotions ran high, and he inadvertently spoke this thought aloud.
Regretting his words as soon as they left his mouth, Oliver was afraid that Julie might be even angrier.
Surprisingly, Julie didn’t seem as angry as he had imagined, merely casting a light glance at him before blandly responding, "Why envy the others’ bridal chamber at your age? You’re not like you’ve never experienced it before?"
Oliver Thompson: "..."
It seemed he had experienced it before, otherwise, where did Roy Thompson come from?
"It’s been so long, I kind of forgot. Maybe we should take advantage of today – my sister and brother-in-law’s special day – and... relive it once more, what do you say?"
