Chapter 664: Chapter 643: The Priceless Princess

Cousin?

This word wasn’t new; the man she and Julie Harrison bumped into in the garden that afternoon had called her that too. He not only called her cousin but also claimed to be her, now another one appears!

"Sir, if you want to mess around and pretend to be related, you can find those women who are willing to connect with the prince of Orchid Kingdom. Unfortunately, I’m not one of those women!"

Ivy Aretha felt her mind was in chaos—two strangers claiming to be her cousins appeared, one cold and sinister, the other deep and calculating. She had a bad feeling about all of this, and her intuition told her that they were up to no good.

Especially since this man had something to do with Alya Larson, who always saw her as a love rival. Ivy didn’t believe that all of a sudden, Alya would want to be her cousin. She missed a lot of the details that were right in front of her.

"Cousin, it seems that you really don’t want to go back to your family for this man?"

The man’s eyes were sharp and dazzling as they stared at Ivy Aretha through the bright bonfire. His voice was surprisingly calm, "Do you know what this man has done to you?"

"I don’t want to know, and I advise you not to tear apart our relationship. We were originally strangers; why should I listen to you?"

Ivy found it laughable. She didn’t even know him, and he had the guts to try to drive a wedge between her and Michael. "Honey, let’s go see the bride and ignore these boring people chatting nonsense!"

She could guess what the man would say next—both good and bad—but that wasn’t the point. The point was, she had no interest.

It was foolish to listen when she already knew he would try to cause a rift.

"Okay..."

Michael was interrupted before he could finish by the man on the opposite side.

"Cousin, don’t you want to know why, all of a sudden, Calvin Gordon put aside his deep hatred for you at the hospital and even allowed you to call him Father?"

Sammy Lowe’s words hit Ivy right in the head and shook her entire being: "What do you mean?"

That one time after Madeline’s child was lost, she ran into Calvin Gordon at the hospital. His attitude was strange, to say the least. In short, it was just what Sammy was implying now. A terrifying thought then struck Ivy, "You’ve been following me?"

"Cousin, don’t say it like that. I’m your cousin, how could I follow you? This is called caring for you!"

Sammy Lowe maintained the same frightening focus in his gaze as last time when they were on their way back to the temple. This was not the kind of look that belonged between family members. Ivy felt a chill run down her spine. Both men, one in black attire and one in white, appeared at different times and in different ways, calling her their cousin. Ivy thought her life, which had just started to become calm, was now likely to be upheaved once again.

"Speak human if you want to talk. If you don’t, get lost!"

Ivy’s temper flared up, and her patience vanished in an instant. Her mind was filled with questions about Calvin Gordon’s sudden willingness to acknowledge her. This was the man who had once wanted her dead!

"Lost?"

Sammy Lowe mulled over the word as if he found it unbelievable. Then he immediately returned to normal, ultimately finding it natural. "Indeed, you are the only person in this world who has the right to tell me to get lost, my Little Princess!"

She hated that nickname! Every time she heard it, she felt as if she’d been stabbed.

"I’m sorry, but the title of Little Princess is better suited for your current woman. I’m only fit to be a Queen!" As she spoke, Ivy hugged Michael. "I’ll just be my husband’s Queen. Let your Little Princess go to hell!"

Sammy Lowe: "..."

She was indeed sharp-tongued and hot-tempered, just like her uncle. These traits couldn’t be hidden through their genes.

"Ivy!"

This was the first time Sammy had called her by her name. Ivy didn’t know if it was because they really were related, but she found his way of calling her name much more pleasing to the ear. It even gave her a feeling of kinship. Perhaps it was because she had never had any close family relationships since she was little that even someone she should dislike could give her such an illusion.

"Have you ever thought about whether this man truly loves you? He has forgotten some things now, but what if one day he remembers everything and has a woman he loves? How will you deal with it? You need to leave yourself a way out!"

His tone had changed as if he genuinely cared for her.

"There’s a saying that goes, ’Only by facing death can one come out alive,’ right? I’m already pregnant with his third child, so even if I were to leave him, no one would want to take me as second-hand goods. Isn’t it too late for you to remind me to leave myself a way out? If you really are my cousin and truly care about me, you should have come to save me seven years ago when I was in trouble, not now when I have no choice but to love him!"

Vaguely, Ivy thought she might have a genuine connection with the man in front of her. She especially felt it when she recalled the way he had looked at her last time.

"Don’t tell me that as you and your brother fight for the presidency of Orchid Kingdom, I have become the strongest bargaining chip in your struggle. So both of you want to keep me as your secret weapon. If that’s true, then your brother is much stronger than you. At least, he doesn’t know how to take advantage of people. If you have the ability, confront me directly; if you don’t, don’t act like a woman and play emotional cards. It won’t work—since I was little, I’ve had no family and no feelings for them!"

Of course not. The only person she was related to was Bianca Aretha and the two children in her belly.

"Fine, you don’t like beating around the bush, so I’ll get straight to the point. I ask you, Michael Gordon clearly knows that the so-called deep-seated hatred between you and the Gordon family is just a misunderstanding. So why doesn’t he tell you? Why is it that when Calvin even agrees to let you enter the Gordon family, he takes no action? He clearly has the chance to let you live in the Gordon’s house legitimately but chooses to keep you as a mistress outside instead. What’s the meaning of all this?"

The deep-seated hatred was just a misunderstanding?

And Michael knew about it?

Even trying to maintain a calm expression, Ivy Aretha was shocked. She ran through every word Sammy had just said in her head!

Yes, Calvin had said something similar to agreeing to let her call him Father. At that time, she had specially reminded him just in case she had misheard, but his response was still the same.

Back then, she was a bit bewildered and hadn’t thought much about it. But now, with this new perspective, she saw the whole picture!
