Chapter 545: Chapter 524: Your husband is avenging you, aren’t you happy?

It wasn’t until they boarded the helicopter that Julie Harrison thought of something.

It was the thing that Oliver Thompson mentioned earlier, about making the two people happy. When she first heard Oliver say this, she was surprised, but her attention was on his injuries at the time, so she didn’t notice whether he was joking or serious.

Now that they were on the plane, Julie relaxed, and finally remembered what had been said. Oliver’s wounds were severe, and even though Lucas Sandy had treated them, he was still weak. However, he leaned against Julie’s chest, his arm still consciously holding her waist.

At this moment, Julie didn’t bother arguing with him about things like taking advantage of her. Jaysen Smith was holding Roy Thompson, Michael Gordon was holding Bianca Aretha, and Lucas Sandy was dealing with his medicine box. The plane suddenly became very quiet.

After a while, Julie couldn’t help but lower her head and ask, "Oliver, you weren’t serious about what you said earlier, were you?"

"What’s that?"

Oliver’s head was resting on her chest, and as he spoke, he weakly moved his head closer to her. The movement was obviously intentional. Despite doing such a shameless act, his expression remained calm.

Unable to stand the man taking advantage of her in front of so many people, Julie gently pushed his head away from her chest: "You know, that thing about making them happy?"

Although she really hated Amanda Foster and sometimes wanted to kill her with her own hands, she would only go so far. After all, they had been fighting over this man for so many years, using every means possible. Still, she thought doing such a despicable and ungraceful thing was beneath her.

She had always preferred to solve problems openly and honestly! So...

"Hmm, what’s wrong with making them happy?" Oliver’s head was pushed away from her chest and forced to rest on her shoulder. When he heard her words, he just raised one eyebrow, then asked casually, "What? You don’t like it when your husband avenges you for someone mistreating you?"

You don’t like it when your husband avenges you for someone mistreating you?

This sentence successfully stunned Julie. For a moment, her mind went blank. She had been waiting for this statement for many years, and finally... she had gotten it!

Every time Amanda provoked her and Julie lost utterly, the woman always left a haunting sentence: "If you have the ability, have your husband avenge you. But unfortunately, your husband loves me!"

This one sentence made it even more difficult for Julie to hold her head high!

She had always dreamed of hearing her husband say, "I’ll avenge you!"

After waiting for so many years, she finally heard it. Unfortunately... she no longer needed it!

Julie forcibly turned her head away, avoiding his gaze. The corner of her eye began to show signs of tears.

After a while, she choked out, "I don’t need you to avenge me for this kind of thing anymore!"

Today, after hearing Amanda’s words, she understood everything. Since he still had her in his heart, and the Harrison family’s problems weren’t his doing, this knowledge was enough for her. Taking revenge is only appropriate when the target is an opponent.

Since Oliver no longer considered Amanda his opponent, why bother?

Today’s torment and shock had revealed a secret she had been unaware of for so many years, so perhaps it was worth it!

"You don’t need me to avenge you?"

Upon hearing this, Oliver’s handsome brow raised slightly. He pondered over those words, appearing both puzzled and disappointed. "Didn’t you always hate her? Didn’t you tell me to deal with her myself? Are you upset because I took too long to do it?"

His lazy tone became colder and colder, and as Julie felt the temperature around her drop, her chin was suddenly grasped by the man’s slender fingers. Her head was then forcibly lifted up, forcing her to make eye contact with him.

"Hmm?" After their eyes met, the man’s voice grew even colder, and suddenly, a furious roar rang out, shaking the entire cabin, "Julie Harrison, answer me! If I live, you don’t forgive me. If I die, you’ll find a stepfather for my son. You said I should deal with that woman, and I did. What the hell do you want me to do to forgive me?"

Julie was shaken by his sudden shout, and her head buzzed. Just as she was about to retort, she heard the man groan and his erratic breathing grew heavier and heavier. He couldn’t help but cover his chest with his hand.

Julie was frightened, and her face turned pale. Her brain hadn’t yet processed how to react when she blurted out, "Lucas!"

Those two words exploded out!

Unexpectedly, the normally obedient Lucas simply gave her a cold glance and didn’t come over. In fact, he replied very calmly, "Madam, calling me is useless. Even if I give him more blood, he’ll still act recklessly later, losing more blood. It’s better to save it, as blood that matches his is precious, in case we need it next time."

"Lucas!"

"Madam, getting angry with me and being unhappy with what I say is pointless. I can treat illnesses, but I can’t cure the heart. The cure for heartache requires a special kind of medicine. Instead of blaming me for speaking inappropriately, it’s better to forgive your husband directly and stop him from torturing himself. After all, besides being your husband, he is also Young Master Roy’s father. Even if you don’t care about your husband, Young Master Roy still cares for his dad!"

Julie: "..."

Did they agree beforehand to gang up on her like this?

Just as she was thinking this, her son pitifully joined in as well.

"Mom, do it for Roy’s sake. Please appease Dad. Him acting like this will only make his injuries worse. Even with Uncle Lucas around, it won’t kill him, but if he doesn’t recuperate properly, it may leave behind lingering issues when he’s old. Then, you’ll just suffer, Mom. So, what’s the point?"

Julie: "..."

Using the word "point" as well?

But her son seemed to have a point. When men acted self-destructively, they didn’t consider the consequences, but women couldn’t do the same. If he kept up this behavior, when he was old, wouldn’t she be the one to suffer?

Forget it!

She still wanted to be an elegant old lady!

Just forgive him. Sooner or later, she would have to anyway!

She didn’t want to deal with him now only because he knew he still had a place in her heart and he wasn’t responsible for the Harrison family’s problems. Yet, he stubbornly stayed silent and let her misunderstand everything, torturing him. Would that make her happy?
