Chapter 1055: Chapter 1035 "Eternal Youth" is a Hereditary Disease!

He knew how intense that scene must have been without even thinking about it.

He was more aware than anyone of what those men were like, all professionals who had practiced for years!

Oliver’s first reaction was to leap off the bed to snatch the phone from the woman’s hand, but just as he moved, Bella reacted as if she had anticipated it, clutching the phone and leaping off the bed in one swift movement that took him by surprise.

"Bella, be careful, I won’t snatch your phone, just don’t act rashly!"

She had just found out about the pregnancy, and it wasn’t even three months yet, a time when the fetus is most vulnerable. Such a big movement, it almost killed him. This woman, truly still a child. It seemed that he would have to slow down the company’s expansion, for if he didn’t keep a close watch on everything at home, it would all be for nothing.

"You promise you won’t snatch it?"

Bella had no awareness of the impropriety of her actions, sitting directly on the carpet looking at the video on her phone, with the handset still emitting those thrilling yet horrifying sounds, making Oliver’s skin crawl.

These people were too intense!

Seeing the woman sitting barefoot on the floor like that, Oliver could hardly bear to watch. He hurriedly got up to lift her, but as soon as Bella saw him getting off the bed, she attempted to get up, so he just obediently lay back down without moving.

"Don’t sit on the floor, come sit on the bed to watch!"

Uh?

"You agree to let me watch?"

"If you can joke about my daughter, what else can I do?"

Oliver’s face darkened to the extreme, the pregnant woman was their top priority, and he truly had no way of dealing with her, "If you don’t trust me, I’ll just go out; come sit on the bed!"

That horrifying scene, he was creeped out just hearing the sounds, and yet the girl was still watching!

He could no longer bear it, yet she even sat on the floor. If he argued with her, she might start running around and jumping, and his intense jealousy felt like it amounted to nothing. Forget it, her physical health was more important, he would let this go now, but once the baby was born and she had recovered, it wouldn’t be too late for a reckoning!

Roy turned and left, still thinking that hopefully those things hadn’t captured any explicit parts. He had instructed the subordinates not to film anything too explicit, in case that scoundrel didn’t listen and uploaded it online, which would affect other people as well.

So, it had to be just the sound that was explosive, right?

"Brother-in-law, why do you look so upset? Did sister bully you?"

As soon as Roy came downstairs, Chani teased him, seeing his grim expression, "Brother-in-law, did my sister make you kneel on the remote control?"

Otherwise, why would her brother-in-law look so upset?

He looked like someone owed him several million.

"No!"

Roy Thompson answered indifferently and then headed to the kitchen. Given a choice, he would rather kneel before a remote control than let that girl watch that horrifying video. Roy Thompson expressed his frustration, "I’m off to cook!"

Chani Gordon: "..."

Her brother-in-law was definitely off today—why on earth had he come to their house to cook?

Could it be that her sister disliked their cook’s food?

Chani Gordon decided that this was indeed something worth investigating, and scurried upstairs to find Bella Gordon.

That afternoon, Roy Thompson was busy cooking in the kitchen. Meanwhile, Oliver Thompson and Lucas Sandy accompanied Michael Gordon and Ivy Aretha up the mountain to pick up Princess Ruby Ross—though she kept insisting she had gotten used to living there, Ivy Aretha wouldn’t have it.

"Mom, if you don’t come home with me today, I’ll just kneel here until I die!"

Ivy was kneeling right in front of Ruby Ross. She had always been stubborn, clear about what she wanted, which things mattered, and which didn’t. Even when Calvin Gordon had treated them that way, because he was Michael’s father, she had eventually chosen to forgive him.

"Ivy, I’m sorry, but you should go back. I’m fine here!"

Ruby Ross kept her back to Ivy, refusing to turn around and look at her. She feared that seeing her would bring back those stark, bloody memories. Her child was the deepest, most profound pain she had borne over the years. Had there been any way, she wouldn’t have done it.

"Mom, no matter how you wronged me, since I’m kneeling here today begging you to come back with me, whatever you did wrong in the past, I choose to forgive. They say the child follows the mother; how you are is how I am. The past is past, we both chose to live well in order to stand before each other now. Otherwise, after all these years, you wouldn’t be here either!"

"If you’ve decided to live, then let’s live well. We live to have good days, not to torment each other. Do you think by punishing yourself on this mountain you can make up for the regrets of leaving me behind? You’re not punishing yourself, you’re torturing me!"

Hearing this, the woman suddenly froze. Those words...

It was a shot straight through her heart. She had to admit, she was punishing herself and torturing her daughter.

"I don’t care why you did what you did back then, whether you had your reasons or not, I don’t care. Because I am standing right here, I choose to let go of the past!"

Ivy paused then continued, "Mom, be kinder to yourself because life isn’t very long. You’re at this age, how many decades can you still live? So, be kind to yourself, and stop torturing yourself!"

"Similarly, please be kinder to others because you might not meet them in the next life, so, Mom, you should treat me well because I might not be your daughter next time!"

At this, the woman suddenly turned around and stared blankly at the woman in front of her, instantly bursting into tears. Her tears were like a river dam breaking, unstoppable.

Ivy watched wide-eyed as the woman in front of her in a flowing white dress and fluttering long hair, bearing a face identical to her own, caused her mind to explode. She almost lost her balance even while kneeling, almost tripping herself, if not for the swift support of Michael Gordon’s hand.

Heavens!

How could she look so young!

She was already forty in nominal years. If her mom had had her at the same age she had Bianca, wouldn’t she be at least sixty by nominal years now?

If a sixty-year-old’s face looked as youthful as hers—given that she already looked younger than her peers due to her routine care maintenance and good mood, cherished by her husband for more than two decades without ever being upset—that would be shocking indeed. People said she looked like a woman in her late twenties, but her mother’s face, nearing sixty, still looked this youthful. She was beyond shock!
