Chapter 958: Chapter 937: Don’t Want to Have Children!
After his roar, Mia Rowen noticed the box of morning-after pills thrown on the dressing table,
and realized why the man’s attitude was so vile, her emotions too steadied, "What, it can’t be that buying a pill requires asking me for money, right? I can’t possibly have that little status in this house, can I?"
"Mia Rowen, do you know what I’m asking about? And why?" Morgan Sanders, whose emotions had already been under control, still flared up upon hearing her speak so indifferently, "Why take the morning-after pill? Didn’t we have a good talk in front of my mom about letting things happen naturally? What does it mean that you don’t want kids now? Don’t you want to be with me anymore, or is it that you’re still thinking about divorcing me so Roy Thompson can introduce you to a better man? Let me tell you, don’t even think about it, Mia Rowen!"
Don’t even think about it?
Ha!
How domineering he is!
"Morgan Sanders, what gives you the right to tell me not to even think about it? You can think, so why can’t I?" People tend to lose their tempers when angry, especially someone like Mia Rowen who was always quick to anger, "Morgan Sanders, you have no right to say that to me!"
Mia Rowen then tore open the contraceptive pill packet in front of him and, without even looking, poured a handful directly into her mouth, frightening Morgan Sanders to the point where his heart nearly stopped as he watched the pills being shoved into her mouth.
Quick as a flash, Morgan Sanders first grabbed her throat, then tried to snatch the pills from her hand: "Mia Rowen, have you lost your mind? Do you not want to have children or do you not want to live?"
Pouring a whole handful of pills into her mouth was practically suicide.
Although Mia Rowen firmly refused to give up the pills, ultimately she was no match for the man’s strength, and Morgan Sanders ended up snatching them away. Only when the pills were in his own hand did his anxious heart settle down, with large beads of sweat rolling down his forehead.
His initial irritation over her taking the morning-after pill vanished in the wake of his fright; he had underestimated Mia Rowen’s stubbornness, never expecting her to do something so absurd.
He was truly terrified. Drugs are harmful, and consuming them is detrimental to one’s health—downing a handful could be lethal.
"Fine, if you don’t want to have kids that badly, I’ll just wear a condom from now on!" Morgan Sanders seemed resigned as he pocketed the pills and heaved a deep sigh, "This kind of drug is harmful to your health. Don’t take it anymore!"
Taking a whole bunch of pills like that could kill a person.
"Give me the pills. Whether or not there will be an opportunity to wear a condom in the future, give me the pills now or it’ll be too late!"
Having said that, Mia Rowen outstretched her hand directly in front of him, clearly demanding the pills.
"No, I won’t let you take them. Give up on that idea. If there’s really that high of a chance, and you get pregnant on the first try, then we’ll have the baby!"
"Have the baby?"
At those words, Mia Rowen suddenly laughed, "Morgan Sanders, what makes you think, at my young age, I’d be willing to have a child with a man whose heart doesn’t contain me at all? Do you really think marrying a woman is just about continuing the family line?"
It’s not that she wasn’t willing to have his child, but that she simply couldn’t bring herself to do so when there was no love between them. Children are usually the fruit of love, such a grand creation, how could they be born without love?
As agreeable as she was to Mrs. Sanders, Mia Rowen had a clear line in her heart; she knew what she could accept and what she couldn’t.
There’s really no room for her in his heart?
Good, very good!
Could he really say such a thing? If she wasn’t in his heart, would he nearly have scared himself to the point of going weak at the knees? This woman was indeed causing trouble without any sense of measure!
Although he once liked Bella Gordon, since they had started being together, he had been trying hard to let go of those feelings. Now, he could confidently say he had let go of everything. He also had a place for her in his heart.
"Why?" Suddenly, Morgan Sanders grasped her chin firmly. "Do you really want to know why? Fine, I’ll tell you. It’s because you are now my wife, and also because you once had a crush on me for over a decade, wholeheartedly wishing to be my, uh, wife. And I, I have accepted you as my wife. You are my wife now!"
"Who said a wife has to have children for you?"
Even though her chin was grasped, Mia Rowen still stubbornly retorted, "Children are the fruit of love, and I refuse to insult that. So, I’m not going to have children with you!"
Ha!
Quite the fruit of love indeed.
"Yes, children are the fruit of love, but then may I ask where is there a lack of love between us?" Although he never liked to admit it verbally, in reality, he had acknowledged it; he had started to have feelings for her. "You’ve loved me for over a decade, and I’ve started to fall for you too. Since you love me and I love you now, where is the logic in saying our children wouldn’t be the fruit of love?"
Morgan Sanders had never spoken about his feelings with such indignation, even when he was pursuing Bella Gordon. It was just a matter of handing out cards, sending flowers, occasionally meeting in the library to read, and going on weekend outings. Even when rejected, he simply felt it was an unachieved goal that needed more effort.
He had never strongly felt the need to express his like or love!
Even at the age of eighteen during his coming of age ceremony, he only spoke of like once, under the encouragement of many, and he hadn’t even finished speaking before Roy Thompson appeared and immediately dashed his hopes. The following years were simply a habit: what he couldn’t get became his goal.
Perhaps that was the case!
Thus, Bella Gordon’s rejections felt like a habit, mildly irritating over many years, yet he never gave up.
I’ve already started to fall for you now, and since you love me, and I love you now!
This sentence hit Mia Rowen’s head like a bomb—should she be excited?
The man she quietly fancied for over a decade finally started saying he has fallen for her. It should be exciting news, but when it reached her ears, it evoked an eerie sense of unreality, especially since he had just claimed that he couldn’t forget Bella Gordon or something like that!
"Morgan Sanders, stop with your goddamn nonsense. To coax me into having a child, you would fabricate such lies?"
Morgan Sanders: "..."
"Which of your ears heard that I’m making up lies? Mia Rowen, do you really have no confidence that your husband could fall in love with you?" He was pushed this far, yet she still behaved like this—Morgan Sanders was on the verge of blowing his top at her. "Also, when have I ever coaxed you into having children? I just don’t want you taking that kind of medication that harms your body, that’s all. I promised you, if you don’t want to have children, I’ll obediently wear a condom next time!"
"And besides, just this once, you’re so confident in me that you’re sure you’ll get pregnant?"
