Chapter 953: Chapter 932 I Want to Take a Shower!
Mia Rowen felt it was best to just decisively shut her mouth!
In this sort of hooliganism, a woman, no matter how capable, is not a match for a man, so keeping quiet is the best solution!
However, lying on the carpet was really uncomfortable, and having done it twice, she felt sticky all over. Just as Mia thought about getting up, the man’s husky voice reached her ears, "Don’t move, I can guarantee that your legs are so weak right now you can’t even stand!"
After his words, Mia felt her legs trembling. She tried to stand up but had no strength at all. Her body might not be deliberately putting on airs anymore, but she definitely needed to regain her pride through her words, "I want to take a bath!"
Meaning she had to move, but the result...
"I’ll carry you!"
The man decisively got up and carried her out.
"No need, I can walk on my own!"
The woman was so scared her legs gave out completely. They say ’do not pass three if you do two,’ and having done it twice already, she didn’t want a third round. Mia firmly refused, "Don’t even think about taking another chance. Go take a shower in the other room!"
Morgan Sanders: "..."
In her eyes, was he such a beast?
Morgan Sanders’s eyebrows tightly furrowed. He began to doubt whether he had truly gone too far and wanted to examine her body, but she pushed him away, "Morgan Sanders, don’t go too far. If you dare to try again, I’ll show you what frigidity looks like!"
Morgan Sanders: "..."
That threat was indeed...
"I’m sorry!"
It seemed he had indeed gone too far. Morgan withdrew his hand, got up, and lifted her from the carpet straight into the bathroom. The woman’s hands kept struggling, probably because she had never done anything so embarrassing, so she was shy, but his apology completely softened Mia’s heart.
"I don’t want to!"
Don’t want to?
Morgan Sanders somewhat speechlessly shook his head and then lowered his face to kiss her cheek, started the water for her bath, and somehow, since their marriage began, his understanding of Mia improved by the day. In just one short month, he had almost become accustomed to this marriage, accustomed to her.
Even what he once considered her unreasonable behavior and haughtiness became cute after marriage. Unconsciously, he began to find coming home to see such a flower-like person made his usually stubborn heart soften, giving him a feeling that he had grown up and now had a home of his own!
Especially after they made love today, he inexplicably wanted to kiss her forehead, that sacred place that represents the supreme love. Morgan Sanders was startled by his own thoughts.
Could it be that in such a short time, he had fallen in love with Mia Rowen?
Although falling in love with one’s wife is right and proper, being able to completely let go of a woman he had liked for over a decade and fall in love with another woman in such a short time, Morgan wondered if his feelings were too cheap?
"I’m just running the water for you; if you can’t handle that, how would I have the energy?"
After letting the water out, he placed the woman into the bathtub and Morgan Sanders turned his head and left directly. Watching the man’s retreating figure, Mia Rowen breathed a sigh of relief, but the flush on her face deepened, her heartbeat surged uncontrollably, overwhelming her mind into disarray with images of her entwined with Morgan repeating in her head.
Mia slapped her cheeks with the water in the bathtub, ordering herself not to indulge in wild thoughts, "It was just rolling in a bed sheet, uttering words anyone in bed would say, Mia Rowen, don’t you dare let your thoughts wander!"
"He doesn’t like you, he doesn’t like you, and he certainly doesn’t love you. It was just something that all marriages do, what else are you fantasizing about?"
"Feelings, they don’t just appear because you whimsically want them to, Mia, you fool!"
"Mia, have you gone stupid? Are you actually fantasizing that he would like you?"
It took Mia a while to soothe her agitated mind. With a deep exhale, she gradually allowed her tired body to sink into the water, watching it slowly rise over her body, then her neck.
Mia had the feeling that she needed to dunk her head under the warm water to truly wake up from this chaotic delusion. She was uncertain about how to face it all, but just as she started dipping her head and the water reached her chin, she heard a thud. Mia jolted, attempting to rise, but her legs gave out, and she choked and plunged into the bathtub...
"Mia!!"
Upon entering the room and witnessing this, he stood frozen in shock. With his long legs stumbling, he reached out to pull the struggling woman from the bathtub. Instead, he lost his footing and the two tumbled into the bathtub together.
"Morgan Sanders, what are you doing, I don’t want to bathe with you!"
Morgan Sanders: "..."
"What on earth are you thinking?" Morgan was truly exasperated with her. He had been scared half to death, yet she mistook him for a pervert. With a sigh, he quipped, "Having such wild thoughts proves your brain isn’t waterlogged yet!"
As he spoke, he reached for a towel on the shelf and began to dry her face, her nose, and her mouth, all the while complaining. Despite his scolding tone, Mia picked up a hint of indulgence in his voice.
"You... how did you barge in like that?"
Mia, coming back to her senses, felt embarrassed by her indecent thoughts.
"If I hadn’t come in, were you planning to drown in the bathtub?" Morgan didn’t look at her, focusing instead on wiping her body down, "If you had drowned, was I supposed to commit suicide with you? Or remain a widow on your behalf?"
He spoke without thinking, but she listened with intent; her heartbeat skipped a beat in that moment!
Committal suicide with a spouse?
Remain a widow?
These were things only people deeply in love would say or do—and not just ordinarily in love!
In this day and age, how many could stay widowed, let alone speak of committal suicide? Infidelity was rampant like mistresses flying everywhere; divorces and remarriages could happen within hours. Even couples in deep love couldn’t do this, let alone, they were just two people brought together by a misunderstanding without any feelings for each other!
Mia’s mind was reeling from his words, and even though she knew he was just speaking off the cuff, she couldn’t help feeling thrilled, practically dumbstruck!
"Why are you staring at me like that? It’s not like you won’t get to see me anymore after today. Your own husband, look whenever you want!"
Morgan was somewhat speechless at her reaction. The silly girl, having liked him for so long, kept it to herself, instead of confessing to him earlier. If she had, maybe he could’ve let go of Bella Gordon sooner, rather than spending his youth devoted to a woman whose heart belonged to someone else, and unintentionally putting so much pressure on himself!
