Chapter 59: Nothing Is Given For Free Nowadays

"What’s going on here?" Old Master Ken roared as he entered Ryu’s room.

He saw his grandson, reeking of alcohol, in a completely disheveled state. Empty bottles were scattered on the floor, and Ryu was sitting down on the carpet with his back leaning on the side rail of his bed. He looked broken and frustrated at the same time.

Butler Omni and Chen who stood behind the Old Master looked at each other. It had been a month now, and there’s still no progress in the search for Arya. Ryu was personally leading the search; they even tried looking in Japan, for any leads

None of them dared to report at Ken Mansion on what was going on with the CEO of Ramada.

Because of the frustration of not being able to get any clue about Arya’s whereabouts, Ryu drank the whole day.

Butler Omni and Chen both did not expect the sudden arrival of Old Master Ken at Ryu’s apartment.

"I am completely disappointed! I can’t believe that the grandson whom I personally raised will be so weak and fragile that he will break with a small gush of wind like this!" The old man hissed.

Ryu heard his grandfather’s words and smirked.

"Are you here just to express your disappointment and scold me, Grandpa?" He asked mockingly.

Old Master Ken let out a loud scoff. His domineering aura was clouding the whole room.

"I am here to bargain with you, dummy brat! I can’t watch you ruin your life like this." Old Master Ken exclaimed.

Butler Omni shook his head. As expected, Old Master Ken’s help came with a vicious circle.

Suddenly, there was complete silence in the room. And then, Old Master Ken opened an envelope and threw some pictures towards Ryu.

Butler Omni and Chen’s eyes widened with shock as they saw the pictures that were splattered all over the floor. They were Arya’s pictures. She was smiling happily in all those pictures.

Ryu picked up each of the pictures as he stared astonished at them.

’She is looking this happy while I am suffering like hell here?’ Ryu scowled silently while he unconsciously crumpled the pictures in his hand.

"You want that woman, right? See how powerful your grandpa is? You’ve been trying to track her for a month now, but still, you have got no lead while I just snapped a finger and those pictures appeared!" His grandfather declared scornfully.

Butler Omni peeked at Chen who was scratching his head at that moment. His eyes were conveying, "You’re a useless assistant and will be fired out soon."

Chen’s face was becoming pale with Butler Omni’s meaningful stare as he shook his head. He was doing his best, but it was really difficult to find out something about the culprits with their limited connections.

Breaking their lines of thought, came a deep hissing voice, "Tell me what you want." They heard Ryu say to his grandfather.

His face was expressionless. But a raging desire for revenge was written in his eyes.

Old Master Ken grinned and said, "What else do you think this old man of yours wants?"

Then he continued, "Just embrace the power I want to give you, and the world will be yours. No one would ever dare to bully you! Stomp on all those who dare to block your way. Oh, wait, not stomp it’s not good on the ear. Show those people the consequences of bullying a Ken! Punish them until they beg you for mercy!"

Ryu looked at the pictures in his hands with a still unreadable expression on his face and said with a stern voice, "Alright, Grandpa, let’s do as you wish then."

A wide grin flashed on Old Master Ken’s face as he dialed a number on his phone.

"Call for a board meeting tomorrow, they will meet their new CEO." His voice was very loud and clear, then he quickly hung up the call.

"Secretary Jun, bring all the documents Ryu needs to sign and put a stamp on!" Old Master Ken shouted and in an instant, the Secretary of RK Summit Holdings, Inc. entered with the company Attorneys and handed all the documents to Ryu.

"I don’t think you need to read all of that since it’s the power I am giving you. Just to be clear. Prove yourself worthy for five months. Convince the board of directors that you are the right person for that position. Show them what you got and I will personally deliver the culprit and that woman to you. Nothing is given for free nowadays, so if I were you, I would work hard starting tomorrow." Old Master Ken said simply.

"Don’t touch a single strand on Arya. Just tell me her whereabouts after those five months. I will take care of her after five months." He announced emotionlessly.

Butler Omni sighed as he witnessed the scene. In the end, Ryu had to embrace the things he kept on running away from the very start, the Kens’ Legacy and Power.
