Chapter 385: Returning (9)
The combination of Nikolai regal and pale looks, Siri’s bright and princely aura, and Haoran’s tsundere signature style attracted a lot of attention from the girls and they ogled at these three as they made their way inside the camp, looking like members of famous boy group.
Being the only female amongst the group, Chunhua was also talked a lot. Mostly were guessing her identity.
With the additional small cutie Little Noodle, the girls who loved cute things dragged the four littles away to play.
"Kya!" (Here come their claws again! New pal, if you want snacks, imitate me!) Little Lotus bounced and act cute.
Yuan’er went to squeeze Little Lotus’ soft cheeks before giving him a pancake.
The other three also shamelessly sold their cuteness to earn candies and snacks.
"Who’s this new fellow?" The girls surrounded the little chick.
"His name is Little Noodle. Master’s new summon." Little Mantou answered and went back to licking the candy again.
"He’s so cute!" Yuan’er squealed before gently touching Little Noodle’s single rainbow feather on its crown.
"If I knew I can gain cute summons like this, I would have chosen summoner class!" Xiang’er sighed.
The other girls also sighed.
"Chirp Chirp!" Amazed by the fast profit, Little Noodle flew towards the girls’ shoulders and rubbed his cheeks on them, earning him many snacks.
"Chirp Chirp!"
Nikolai and Grandpa Triton wandered around looking at the place.
----
"He’s a spy from another territory. We don’t know yet what’s the name of the territory he came from, since he wasn’t a permanent or probationary resident there. Their method of sending out spy was also very meticulous. He was blindfolded when he was sent out along with dozens of others. Therefore, he doesn’t even know its specific location."
"He only knows the one of them named Private Cai. They communicate through the chat interface, tasks with collecting information regarding other territories and personal information of the landowner operating them."
First step in any battle is reconnaissance, next would be establishing communication, and after it was calling for reinforcements.
Their goal was clear as sun in the morning.
The window of Private Chat Interface can only be seen by the players themselves so it hard to judge if what Junjie said was right.
Siri could only guess through the youth’s expression. Good thing, he was easy to read.
But for this method to work, the other side must have ensured the spies’ loyalty which made him think there must be some binding force between them whether it was money or something else.
He offered the youth to speak more by giving him supplies but the youth didn’t bat an eye which made him resort to another method.
(A/N: I forgot about the name. Was it Kai or Cai, or I entirely got it wrong?)
Chunhua knew that this day would eventually come but she didn’t know it was this soon.
"Then, how about his brother Junjie? He has a little brother Junjie." Chunhua asked.
Elga raised her brows, "His very name is Junjie. He came alone. We didn’t see the brother you’re referring to."
Listening to Chunhua’s question, Siri had a hunch, "I believed his immediate family member must have been captured by the territory that sent him."
He’s Junjie?
Chunhua looked at the youth and examined his face further. Only did she notice that there were still minute differences between them. His face is rounder and the edges of his cheeks were not sharp, somewhat like hers. His eyes were also a bit wider than Jun Chang’s peach blossoms.
"What are you planning on doing with him, Master?" Siri always respected Chunhua’s decision.
Haoran only listened quietly on the corner while leaning on the wall.
"Let’s wake him up." Chunhua decided. She couldn’t help him back then, but now she can.
Junjie woke up after feeling someone tap his cheeks. Junjie saw four people inside the room looking at him. He was about to struggle when someone mentioned his brother’s name.
"I know you have a brother named Jun Chang. I can help you but you need to cooperate with me." The young female said before she untied the fabric around his mouth.
In this world where betrayal and falseness was common as cabbage, Junjie had developed a cautious personality and would not easily believe anyone, however there something in the young female before him that caused his pent-up emotions to pour out.
"Please help me. They are going to kill my brother if I didn’t do what they say." Junjie pleaded in a hoarse voice. He was mentally exhausted from thinking about his brother all night.
"I will." Chunhua promised. "Don’t cry anymore."
Although, Chunhua didn’t possess any Daji’s beauty, his bright and delicate appearance were still popular among the boys and coupled with her charming almond eyes, it was easy for someone like Junjie to developed some good feelings.
Junjie’s expression didn’t escape a certain someone’s keen eyes.
"Let me." A towering figure appeared behind Chunhua and a pair of calloused hands grabbed Chunhua’s hand, and went to untie the rope around Junjie.
Chunhua stepped back and perused her memory of the name Private Kai.
Private Kai...He was a name mentioned only a few times in the book, who worked under someone codename General.
General, despite being a minor character, become one of the early obstacles in Xun Minsheng’s ways.
She remembered a scene in the book where the General had exploited captive players from logging and mining without rest and only giving them little to no food or water.
It’s better to eliminate this sickening guy early on before he becomes a bigger force in the future.
Hold on...Why does it smell vinegar in the air?
----
Half an hour later...
"Auntie Hui, when did you think we’ll leave this place? I feel unsafe and uneasy of staying another day here especially after what happened last night." Wenyi said in concern.
(A/N: If you forgot about her. She was the one with Auntie Hui, the healer who was close to Junjie.)
