Chapter 361: The system likes to play tricks (1)

City S, Taipo Commercial Street.

"Boss, how much is your scallion pancake, pan-fried pork buns, and spring rolls?"

Haoran looked around and was stunned by what he was seeing.

Towering buildings, shops selling different things, the cars speeding away, the people dressed in clean clothes walking down the pedestrian lanes.

There was no sea, no nymphs, no halflings, no mountains, no monsters and Xiao Hua was not here.

The last thing he remembered was he was at the entrance of the Desolate Labyrinth.

After equipping the pot gear, his whole body was struck by immense pain. It took his will to get out of that knowing Xiao Hua was still waiting.

He looked down and saw a table. There was a wok on his right sitting on a stove. On his left were condiments, pots, and noodles strings, sacks of flour, rolling pin, and stacks of bamboo streamers.

On his further left were Styrofoam boxes, cartoon cups, and a small glass food display cabinet and there were trays of pancakes, spring rolls, meat pies and other breakfast foods.

He remembered this stall. It was the one he set up when he was 13.

"Lad?"

"Lad, are you listening!"

A tap on his shoulder awakened him from his stupor.

"Brother, sorry my brother is just tired. He hasn’t slept well last night. The scallion pancakes is 2 yuan, fried pork buns is 3 yuan for ten pieces, and spring rolls are 2 yuan for 5 pieces."

The familiar voice made Haoran immediately spun his head to the side and he saw his brother, Zurui who he hadn’t seen for more than a week.

"Zurui?"

The other young man heard it and threw Haoran a glance, "What is it Big Brother?"

"Aren’t we supposed to be in the Game World?"

Zurui looked at Haoran stunned and placed a palm on Haoran’s forehead and when there was no fever, he withdraw his hand, "Big Brother, are you alright? What game world are you talking about?"

"Wait, are you playing behind my back? I thought you didn’t know anything about online games." Zurui laughed.

Haoran frowned.

That’s right.

The Zurui with him was much younger, his hair was short yet tousled and he was wearing an apron and a pair of gloves over his high school uniform. A sling bag was hanged on the protruding nail on the pole of the stall.

He remembered it now. Zurui was in his junior year and after school he will come to help him with selling.

Although he was bothered by the peculiarity but Haoran’s eyes couldn’t hide the smile in his eyes.

"It’s so expensive! The spring rolls in the other stalls are just 1 yuan for 5 pieces!" Although the food looks good and smells enticing but he was reluctant because of the price.

The other customers also heard the prices and they frowned but they didn’t leave their spot. The smell coming from the stall was making them licked their lips.

"Uncle, my brother’s food is better than anything you tasted. You won’t regret buying it and if it tastes bad, I’ll give you a refund." Zurui confidently said.

The customer heard Zurui’s words and tried the spring rolls first. The other customer waiting watched closely.

When he took the first bite, there was a short pause before the customer started gobbling the rest fast.

Haoran saw Zurui lifted the corner of his lips, "How is it Uncle?"

"Lad, give me 30 pieces of the spring rolls!" The Uncle quickly handed 12 yuan.

Zurui picked up the tongs and placed the 30 spring rolls inside the food box and a bag of dipping sauce.

The Uncle also bought ten pieces fried pork meat buns and eight pieces of scallion pancakes after tasting them.

Because of the success of the first customer, the rest of the sale went smoothly.

Haoran thought the whole thing was a dream but it was vivid and detailed. His senses were working.

He could feel the smooth and silky texture of flour in his hand.

Was this really just a dream or did he return to the past?

Haoran continued to stare at the flour and the stove until he heard yet another familiar voice.

"Little Beauty, what do you want?"

"Sweet Brother, give me 2 servings of pork floss dumplings and 4 scallion pancakes."

"Here you go, Little Beauty."

The familiar soft, sweet and child-like voice entered Haoran’s ears and person’s face appeared in his mind.

"Xiao Hua?"

She’s here too?

Haoran abruptly lifted his head but the face he wanted to see was not there.

"Zurui, where’s is the woman just now?" Haoran united his apron and took off the gloves.

He wanted to know if that was not an illusion.

"Oh that Little Beauty? She went towards the bus stop." Zurui pointed towards his left and he appeared a bit shock probably because of Haoran’s sudden attentiveness.

Haoran looked at the direction Zurui pointed.

Since this street was near two school districts and several office buildings, there were a swarm of people coming and going making it difficult to see the bus stop from where he was.

Zurui wanted to tease his Brother but Haoran had stormed off.

"Big Brother!" Zurui shouted. Hey don’t leave your bro!

Haoran run towards the bus stop and squeezed his way through trying to find the familiar silhouette.

Suddenly he smelled the scent of pork bun. He turned around and coincidentally saw the back of a girl in high school uniform entering the bus. She was carrying a plastic bag on her left hand.

Xiao Hua?

Considering, he was 13 right now, Xiao Hua should be at least on her first year of high school.

But that just could be his guess.

Xiao Hua behaved so strangely that it was hard for him to certify if she was from their world.

With this thought, Haoran climbed on board but he was stopped by the bus doors.

The bus was already full.
