Chapter 332: Mission Clear? (1)

With the emergence of the city, the Nymphs under Shivani’s orders controlled the ship, steering towards it.

---

At the South Entrance of the City of Atlantis, one of the Halfling ships, the one being chased before had arrived and its passengers comprising of the Dean of the Hospital, the Professor and his assistant researchers, the guards and the rest were the those victims of thermic fever and their families were scurrying out and jumped towards the platform supporting the Atlantis City.

"This place isn’t any safer." The professor narrowed his eyes watching the crater of the volcano splatting lava and black fumes.

"That is clearly near its due. It’s just the matter of time before we’ll be stranded in here and get turned to ashes."

"We got no alternatives right now. By the time we can find another island, our ship will likely sink." Right after the professor’s last word, sounds of shells hitting the metal sheets of their ship echoed throughout setting their hearts to race.

He covered his head instinctively before saying in anxious voice, "Let’s talk about it further after we lose them."

"Go quickly, run fast and find a safe place, preferably those with walls enough to withstand Tier 2 fire spell." The Head of the temporary security team said to the Dean of the Hospital and professor.

"How about you and your team?"

"We’ll hold them off. Don’t waste a second anymore and just go." The Head of the Security gestured them to go.

The earlier fire cannon strike on the ship had caused some injuries most from the security team side.

But this damage was nothing compared to the other ships who were struck directly by thunder.

Both the dean of the hospital and the professor observed the injured halflings’ conditions and knew they couldn’t delay it any longer.

Their group evacuated the place and combed the City for any safe place but the search was bound to be a difficult one because, they found out at least the part they docked where a land field of stones and rubbles.

The nearest semi-intact facility which bore three points resemblance to the bulwark port was about nearly half a mile away.

But on the bright side, they saw lots of fishes still alive flailing and gasping for air, sea shells, sea snails, shrimps, urchins, small eels scattered on the ground which will enough for them to last for two weeks.

They picked up as many as they could.

Twenty minutes later, when the halflings looked at the rubbles near the entrance which were mostly a part of statues and shivered.

"Let’s go." The Dean led the group and rushed towards the building looking like a two-story palace.

On the way, he and the Professor noticed the rune pattern carved on the pillars, the pearls embedded on the walls, the corals, the bed of colourful sea sponges, the green mosses, the molts of some rare sea creatures that the two only saw in the books, some parts of what could possibly be a golem, weapons of all sorts shapes and sizes, and many more.

The two couldn’t observe any further as they heard the sounds of rushing footsteps and gunshots. They quickly entered the building and were stunned to see the wreckage inside.

Subsequently, a large pincer claw fell on top of them along with rubbles letting everyone to duck and avoid it. But with such a large claw and too little room to manoeuvre, not everyone could escape.

"My son."

The Dean who also among the ones left behind was a priest and knows healing spells and a little bit of defence spell, and quickly stood up and cast a Tier 2 shield spell, allowing some of the trapped halflings to escape.

The mother halfling pulled her son away and thanked the Dean profusely.

"Go." The Dean shouted.

The pincer claw smashed against the magic shield and instantly cracks appeared. His eyes widen and added another layer, however it made no difference.

The professor saw his close pal in a rough situation and helped him fend the claw off by using an attack spell to knockback the pincer out of the way and successfully did but the lobster reacted swiftly and attacked them with its other claw.

Because of the CD and casting time needed, the two couldn’t put up any spell on time and could only watch the pincer as it came near.

However, when they thought it was the end, a large pan smacked the lobster sideways flinging it out of the building and crashing into the group of pursuers, and killing them instantly by the weight.

The remaining pursuers shot trying to kill the lobster but their attacks hit its shell and failed to deal any damage.

The lobsters crawled and tried to counter attack by a tail whip but it suddenly stopped moving and fell on its side with its shell facing them.

The halflings stood there for a minute not knowing what to do because of size of the lobster, their view of their targets were blocked.

One of them was impatient and checked to see if the lobster was alive.

He reloaded his gun and did a quick test once more.

When the lobster was really not moving anymore, he circled around and went to carefully take a peek on its head and saw a spear stuck on its was underbelly, blood was oozing out.

"Someone..." Before he could informed the other, he was smacked in the head instead, sending him to sleep.

The others quickly reacted by firing upon seeing the halfling fell on the ground.

"Come out."

When no one came out, the halflings went to check and when they got near, something was thrown at them, clouding the surroundings with white dust entering the halflings’ nose, eyes, and mouth.

There were sounds of coughing and cussing.

"Cough...shit I can’t see anything."

"Cough...cough...Punk, I will kill you if I see you."

"Ah..."

Roughly after that, one by one the halflings fell as someone took advantage and smacked them.

The noises attracted the professor’s group and they cautiously took a peek outside and they were stunned to see the halflings pursuing them was laying on the ground, the big lobster was also gone, leaving only bloodstains on the ground.

Gazing at the distance, he saw the back of the figure running away. It was the one from earlier who saved them from the lobster.

Haoran run blindly and eliminated the halflings who were firing at him along the way while tryinh to find Xiao Hua’s whereabouts.

In the middle of his search, he spotted a silhouette of the large clam which was Xiao Hua’s new pet and instantly headed that way.
