Chapter 313: A Dream or a Nightmare? (1)

"Sister, sister, what are their names?" Aqua and the other Halfling nymphs surrounded around Li Chunhua after finding out she was the Master of the three little cuties who played with a few minutes ago, chasing them around the decks, making them forget a bit of what happened earlier at the Halfling City.

"Kya!"

"Ji ji ji!"

"Master, I made friends and had fun playing tag."

The three quickly attached themselves on Chunhua’s legs after the spotted the latter coming out and smelling the scent of the steak eel and tuna fillet on her.

"Master, share some food too. What did you eat? It smells so good." Little Mantou sniffed and pressed his nose closer, letting the other two imitate his actions finding the fox’s words very true.

"Don’t bother Big Sister anymore, Aqua." Ron quickly picked up Aqua.

Li Chunhua saw some small simple houses made of metals sheets assembled and a small ship near the farms behind Uncle Ron and reckoned they were made by the Halflings.

And some already even made friends with Shivani’s clan members helping them in plowing and attending to the lands.

It seemed Shivani didn’t much made it difficult for them and allowed the Halflings to settle down for the sake of the little nymphs.

Though it was probably a bit early to judge, since not all shared the same sentiment.

Ron traced Li Chunhua’s eyes and found out what she’s looking at, "It all thanks to you otherwise me and Aqua might be on different ships by now."

Recalling the feeling being separated from his granddaughter, Ron’s arms around the little nymph became tighter.

Li Chunhua only hoped for the situation to be better. After her mission, she will no longer be able to part of this world and will never have the chance to see their future.

---

The flying ice ship had actually landed in the ocean at some point when Chef Long and she were busy eating in the kitchen.

Li Chunhua noticed a lot of nymphs were pulling something from the edges and bringing some deformed pieces of metals on the decks.

Looking upon it closer, it seemed to be a part of golems and ships. The nymphs carried them below to the room reserved t store war trophies.

When she asked Shillo and Shivani about this, the two said they encountered three Halfling Pyro Ships that have 50% similar to the model of the one before and the golems.

Based on her teachings of how to dealt of those who offended them, the nymphs behaved the way a ruffian behave and showered the ships and its aggressive occupants with the ’warmest welcome’ any pirates would do.

The three halflings mages and some surviving crew members were now placed in the water dungeon they made on a whim and are scheduled to undergo interrogation later after they woke up.

Shivani wanted to pry some information from them.

"Wait, since when did the ship have a water dungeon?" Li Chunhua halted and asked in surprise.

"I suggested it this morning since tying them with the hemps ropes would be very risky. The mages were of fire attributes." Shillo replied grinning, being proud of such accomplishment.

Li Chunhua looked at her for a second.

The smile on Shillo’s face became stiff thinking the Champion was about to scold him.

Li Chunhua: Well, there isn’t anything wrong with that.

Li Chunhua resumed walking. Shillo was relieved and chatted a few things narrating how they decimated the enemies with their own developed golem suit inspired by her teachings again.

While Shillo was talking, she saw what she was referring to and was amazed. They made operable golems using Dranax’s inventions. Instead of a turbo engine at the back, the unnecessary fire energy after refinement was disposed on the feet and creating the same effect.

"Right now, the longest time each nymphs can operate the water golems are only 2 minutes with my record of 5 minutes being the highest, next is Sister Shivani with 3 minutes, Sister Shana is not far behind..." Shillo after recovering from mana deficiency had shown potential and the clan members were already citing her qualifications as the next apparent priestess.

Shivani was also no longer restricting her and was assigning some responsibilities, to prepare her for the future in which Shillo was thankful and pressured.

They’re using the new golems to transport materials.

Judging from the degree of wreckage floating around, the battle could be described as one-sided annihilation because ships were no longer recognizable.

"Boss, how can you abandon me?" Clammy complained the moment it spotted Li Chunhua.

Li Chunhua looked below and said. "I genuinely forgot about you." Since the Halfling Ships were coming they needed to evacuate the place and therefore letting her forgot about informing the Clam.

Its Boss’ blunt confession further broke the Clammy’s heart. It sulked for three seconds before shared what it saw and showed them the golem.

[Golem Level 1 (HP: 100/100)

Shivani and Shillo lost interest. They had seen better ones.

Li Chunhua tilted her head. Why would those ships dropped these golems in the ocean floor? She questioned in her until her eyes landed on its chest.

Three minutes later near the stern of the ship, Chunhua, Shivani, and Shillo were staring the golem Clammy handed.

Ron was with them, wearing protective gloves, goggles and holding some tools and was carefully detaching the beating core from the immobile golem.

"Uncle Ron, do you know it is?" Li Chunhua asked, leaning to the old Halfling closer.

Ron wiped the sweat off his forehead and stopped in the middle after he saw something strange. The core had cords attached.

"Though it’s the first time I’ve seen this thing, the components is very familiar." Ron placed the tools on the floor, "Very similar to the materials of the cannon ammunitions used ten years ago. But it was banned after because of how volatile it was. Accidents often happen among the ones in charge of delivering these resulting to injuries and even death. After a year from King Limnad’s death, new ones were developed, made from bloodmoon ores and have been used to defend the city ever since."

Li Chunhua’s brows furrowed. The fishy smell once again bothered her.

----

"Chef Long? Chef Long? Why are you so weak? Here, drink a bit more. Those matrons were very generous and gave us a barrel of fine-quality wine! Ha ha ha."

Long Haoran opened his eyes to the sound of the wine being poured, the arm resting on his shoulder and someone’s familiar voice talking in his ears.

It took him four seconds to regain a clear vision and when he did, he leaned forward due to the force of the slap on his back.

Where am I?

The walls were no longer of ice but of wood and it was heavily decorated with red curtains, red ornaments, and red papers cut in poetic words of happiness, the things that only one would see in a wedding.

The table was full of different type of nuts, loquats, dried persimmons, and cooked food like braised pork, chicken thighs, and bowls of rice.

He knew the custom since he had catered a few wedding events in the past.

Long Haoran couldn’t help but have some doubts.

"Chef Long? Why aren’t you answering? Are you asleep? Are you asleep?" More slaps came on his back. Each was like a giant hammer, very painful. He quickly captured the perpetuator’s delicate wrist and gently tugged off his shoulder.

"I heard you." Long Haoran responded and turned around.

Under the faint light radiated by the pearls above, he saw slightly flushed face, limpid eyes shrouded with haze slightly squinting at him and lips painted with red rouge resembling to the rose petals with some red dews on it. It was Xiao Hua who seemed to be drunk.

"Enough, don’t drink anymore." Long Haoran seized the jade cup from her hands, avoiding direct contact with Xiao Hua’s eyes. His throat bobbed from the sudden thirst, finding the temperature in the room rising every second and lowered his gaze which brought more confusion.

His hands touched the golden threads sewed into phoenix patterns and the red brocaded silk Xiao Hua was donning, the wide sleeves and very long skirt reaching to the ankles. These were not what he made last night. "What are you wearing?"

He abruptly lifted her head, revealing a faint astonishment and his tone a bit sourness in it.

"Oh these?" The drunken Li Chunhua tugged her collar before answering, "You gave them to me this morning. You said that you made them and sewed every embroidery patterns by your own hands. Oh and you also made me a pair of shoes." Li Chunhua lifted her skirt and showed Haoran the pair of red shoes.

Noticing the strangeness of his reactions, Chunhua tilted her head on the side, "Why are giving me that look, Chef Long? Aren’t you wearing a similar set as well?"

Similar set?

Long Haoran gazed down and immediately stood up, finding the whole thing a charade or just a product of his mind.

But a section of his brocaded wedding attire was caught by Xiao Hua, making him unable to take another step back.

"Chef Long, don’t leave yet. The Matrons told us that we still need to fight 300 rounds until morning comes. Although, I don’t know why they said, its needs to be on the bed." The drunk Li Chunhua looked up, thinking of a possible reason. "They also said, Chef Long will teach me something."

Haoran stared hard and his eyes instantly observed the red canopy bed behind Xiao Hua.

Fighting 300 rounds? Teach her something?

"Wait, I keep forgetting it." Xiao Hua sighed before addressing him in a different way, "Well, what are you going to teach me..."

"...Husband."

Long Haoran was rooted in place.

That one word created ripples in his heart, becoming waves and scattered his thoughts into disarray.

In this moment, he immediately knew it was a dream.

Long Haoran slowly parted his lips, taking steps forward to the oblivious girl in a red dress and uttered with something etched in his voice, "Say that again."
