Chapter 294: Body Transmuting

"Ugh, I hate these kinds of people. You’re idea of postponing our return is good." Elga had watched the scene from afar and remarked with distaste.

"Tonight, be careful when you’re on the night watch."

Cui, Su Su and the rest nodded to the Elf’s warning.

Two hours later, while setting the bed, Auntie saw paper slipped through the gap on the wall of their wooden hut.

She looked around before reading the contents. Her eyes widen in astonishment before exiting the hut and going to the back.

"Auntie Hui, where are you going?"

"Wenyi, I’ll just be out quick." Auntie Hui said to the young woman.

Because the huts were aligned like a circular edifice and due to the dark veiling the surroundings, no one noticed Auntie Hui.

She felt the earth and when she stopped something soft, she dug the soil out with a bowl.

After three minutes she saw the things like quilts, bottles of water, packaged food and jars with pickles vegetables wrapped securely with plastic.

She immediately stored them in her inventory before patching back the soil and returning.

Siri glanced at the direction of Auntie Hui’s figure and when he saw no one besides him was paying attention, he entered one of the huts where a young man was tied up.

Elga was sitting on a chair and when she saw Siri come in, she stretched her arms and yawned. "Took you long enough, I’m getting sleepy."

Inside two of the refugees’ huts some people were discussing something sinister.

-----

The kidnapping fiasco with numerous Halflings shouting of letting the ’pitiful and defenseless’ child go and Li Chunhua fake crying calling her mother lasted for ten minutes before Long Haired Sister Nikolai drag the helpless kid to submerge in the strait.

Li Chunhua wanted to swim up but realized she will not be able to continue her act with all those concern halflings. No doubt, they will drag her to the clinic and do a checkup.

Her urge to throw the Sister Kidnapper into the sea intensified. Li Chunhua clutched on the wet robe trying to float to the surface and sent it in her inventory.

Nikolai planned to search for the passageway out of the city through the strait. He saw small fishes swimming by so this must be connected to the sea.

Suddenly, he felt the air was being squeezed out of him. A pair of arms and legs coiled around his broad chest and waist.

"Hmpphhh!" Nikolai turned around and saw the kid. Now without the robe, Nikolai was able to see the kid’s appearance. It was actually a young woman, particularly a player?

Li Chunhua wanted to punish the sister more but the Halflings’ quickly called for someone for search and rescue.

With her Aquatic Adaption skill, she was sensitive to the water movements and using her qi, she saw five Halflings in strange metal suits dove down.

Towards the extreme display of concern and love, Li Chunhua the fake Halfling kid couldn’t bring herself to be happy. Run! I mean! Swim away!

Thus, Nikolai was spared from the torture. Li Chunhua swam away like a torpedo unaware of Nikolai’s hair tangled around her ankle.

The poor sister vampire was swept away and almost turned bald.

30 minutes later, she emerged in between the shops in the middle-class district, in between narrow alleyways.

Nikolai was mourning for his hair that was reduced to shoulder length. "My hair, my beautiful hair, how could someone be so cruel to harm you?"

The hair he grown under immense care and spent a fortune to maintain was gone just like that. Nikolai sobbed with heartache.

"It will just grow back. Be quiet or someone will hear us." Li Chunhua saw some halflings passing by. She will not be able to use the robe again lest she encounter the same crowd from earlier.

Nikolai shut his mouth and stopped mourning. He knew some illusion spell but with his mana capacity right now, maintaining it was a burden. Maybe this player should be able to extend it longer.

He surmised in his mind, thoroughly regretting it later.

Twenty minutes passed, a pair of Mother Halfling and child Halfling dressed in skirts and dresses were seen walking hand in hand.

"Why do I have to be a Mother?" Nikolai gritted his teeth looking on the skirt someone made on the spot. This woman definitely did it on purpose!

The most strange thing was. It was not a illusion at all but his body structure changed along to that of a halfling. He was certain that it was an illusion not other spell he taught, but how come the results were different?

Li Chunhua looked at the screen.

[Due to some strange circumstances, Skill ’Optical Illusion (A-Level)’ is upgraded to Skill ’Body Transmuting’ (SS-level).]

"It suits you the most." Li Chunhua replied. Anyways, "Mother, come, I want to go there." She pointed to the road leading to somewhere.

Nikolai’s lips twitched and wanted to retaliate but recalling her mana capacity, he swallowed his dissatisfaction. Now with the river being checked, he couldn’t use the same method.

With Li Chunhua on the lead, the two headed for the Downtown Bar.

The first floor was where lot of male male Halflings were drinking. When they say Mother Nikolai, they whistled. "What is a chick doing here?"

Nikolai held his all from punching the guy’s face.

Li Chunhua craned her neck and heard some noises from upstairs.

She climbed up the stairs and saw a lot of tables spread around with halflings placing bets of energy crystals bigger with the sizes bigger than nails.

Because the establishment was connected to an powerful group, the halflings here knew better not to make any trouble so was no bouncer around.

Nikolai followed her begrudgingly while trying to gather information about the exit and this place.

Li Chunhua observed one of the table.

The one sitting in the center was shaking a cup and those standing up were placing separate bets on the drawn squares on the table.

[Big] [Small]

The system translated for her.

Li Chunhua had played this game before with her Senior Sister and she wanted to join in. But she had no money.

Suddenly, she felt something rolled on the floor and beside her feet.

An energy crystal!

Li Chunhua’s eye shone.

---

An hour later, news of the Downtown Bar closing for a week spread among the halflings.

Li Chunhua carried the bag of energy crystals weighing 2 kg. There were more than a dozen more in her inventory.

Suddenly, the sounds of engine entered her ears.

Li Chunhua turned around and saw a truck with a cage on the back passing by. Inside the locked cages were the emancipated Nymphs but not just nymphs!

But Chef Long too!
