Chapter 259: An efficient way to make a guide

Using her qi-infused eyes acting as high-tech surveillance drones, Li Chunhua observed the new biodiversity within 500 meters from where she was drawing.

She saw a very small black rat with red eyes hopped out of its hole and found a bush full of red berries only to be pounced on by snake and swallowed whole. Then this snake was dismembered by a bear not long after it got its meal.

The bear thought he was the ultimate winner but a group of lizards appeared and used crowd tactics to kill him.

The lizards only had little time to celebrate their lunch and were killed by a group of wolves, and these wolves were hunted by large eagles and their meat were brought back to feed their young babies.

Then suddenly a large snake, big enough to make 200 servings of barbecue arrived unannounced.

She felt she was watching an episode of a discovery channel titled ’A glimpse of Gruesome Wildlife’s Foodie Diet’ but without the filters.

Li Chunhua rubbed her eyes: I better washed my eyes later because it was the short film is the bloodiest she had seen.

Anyway, our aspiring Li Chunhua chose the lizard as its first muse and the result was...

Knowing that if she continued drawing she would only suffer heartaches from the only commentator behind her that was coincidentally a brutal honest fellow, Li Chunhua changed her plans.

Serena looked at the stack of papers and pen on her hand handed by the landowner.

"Do you know how to draw?" Li Chunhua asked.

"A little bit." Serena replied.

"Perfect." Li Chunhua started describing the monsters she saw.

Serena also drew based on what she’s heard and instead of focusing on drawing, she found herself utterly confused.

"I saw a lizard. The colors of its scales are divided into yellow and white. Not the color of the fluffy rice when it’s cook perfectly or not that extreme yellowish like a curry. It’s closely matching the yolk of a boiled egg and the porridge sprinkled with pepper..."

"Its body proportion is twice thicker than my thigh. I think it would be good in a skewer over the fire together with green onions and tomato. I wonder if its meat is tender enough..."

"Furthermore, I heard ox tail is good to be stewed in a soup. Maybe its tail covered in the same scale would be similarly delicious as well..."

Serena: "..." You sure you’re describing a monster right? Not some food?

In the end, instead of finishing the drawing, Serena became hungry and could not properly draw.

Li Chunhua guessed she lack inspiration and thought of another way.

Serena wanted to excuse herself but when she saw the Landowner jumped off the cliff.

Suddenly she saw something coming her way. It was a dot at first, and then slowly she saw its appearance.

Serena quickly dodge and a mouse entangled with vine landed a few meters next to her feet.

Its whole body and tail including the mouth was tide, only leaving its ears, and red eyes exposed.

Serena grabbed her magic staff and chanted a 1st ring spell to kill it however her chanting was disrupted because she saw another batch of monsters tied in the same manner and vine rained down on her.

Inside the territory, Siri’s sensitive ears heard the faint scream and he walked out hurriedly.

When Li Chunhua came back on the cliff by drilling her hand on the steep wall, she saw the monsters had successfully landed and were still tied by the Vine Entanglement Talismans.

Her eyes roamed on them and went to find her artist and saw her fainted on the ground.

Li Chunhua checked her and when she diagnosed the girl didn’t suffer any injuries. She gathered the scattered paper and the pen before carrying her on her arms.

"Master!" Siri just arrived in time.

"Just in time, Brother Siri, can you do me a favor?" Li Chunhua approached the Elf and handed the papers to him.

"What happened to her?" He cast Serena a scrutinizing gaze.

"She must be hungry. It was inconsiderate of me to have her work before eating." Li Chunhua sighed.

Siri stared at the sketch of a worm on the paper before asking. "What is it?"

"I’m going to make a detailed monster guide for the residents." Li Chunhua pointed using her lips towards the monsters tied up.

"That’s a good idea." Siri saw the monsters and his eyes lit up. He supported her plan.

Since the residents are now rich and full of resident points. They can sell it for points in this way it will encourage the current and future residents to accept missions and prevent the risks of casualties.

The Elf squatted down. He drew the monsters first before using his advanced appraisal skill to see the stats and the skills.

Li Chunhua entered the territory and laid the fainted Serena on bed of her designated lodging. When the others saw Serena’s state they panicked thinking something wrong had happened but they calmed down after Li Chunhua explained.

Li Chunhua returned. Since Brother Siri was busy Li Chunhua did something else.

Because of update, the whole area of the plateau-like land located in the Main Peak where the Salted Fishes was established had also expanded.

The cliff facing the north direction was originally 150 meters away but it was doubled.

Half of the west and east and the whole south were surrounded by steep walls ridges and with the update, the area they can move around also increased. One can simply say that the topography looks like they were in a volcanic crater but without the land depression.

The territory had 1000 square meter and if not for the space folding feature of the facilities it would seem very crowded.

With an available space outside, it was best to utilize it but first Li Chunhua prioritized first the safety of the residents because she just found out that there was no track they could use now. Before at least there was a path where they could step on to descend down the mountain...

Li Chunhua opened the road system and a 3D holographic screen appeared in front of her featuring her territory and the whole mountain.

Li Chunhua saw the optimal route the system was referring to was a winding road far from the areas where the monsters’ habitat but each square meter demanded 4 units of stones, 1 unit of limestone, 1 gallon of water and 40 copper coins.

She counted the meter needed to reach the foot of the mountain by tallying the small green squares in the screen.

1....2...5...10...1523? More than 1.5 kilometers.

That would be 6,092 stones, 1523 lime stones, 1523 gallons of water and 60,920 copper coins.

She looked at her inventory of lime stones.

"Why is it so expensive, System?" Li Chunhua complained.

She immediately contacted and transferred food items to Player Hua and told her to look out for lime stones.

With the road taken care of, Li Chunhua picked up the loot that the Fearcrows dropped.

She gained more than 2500 experience points and 1560 copper coins.

Apart from it, Li Chunhua also got [Fearcrow Feather X 32] and [Bronze-quality gears x7]. She stored them inside her inventory before she checked on Brother Siri’s side.

"I’m nearly done." Siri finished the last touches before the two drawn the map. Li Chunhua shared the landscape saw on her short exploration.

Before lunch, the map and the guide were finally made. Siri kept them both per his Master’s request for the residents without appraisal and cheat vision skills.

Now, Li Chunhua’s next task was to search for that barrier which the forgetful pixie said should be around west near Chef Long’s territory. Hopefully, it wasn’t too late.

She entered the residence alone after building 4 more plot of lands. The Elf didn’t go with her since Siri have to assign the work.

When Li Chunhua passed by the living room, she saw the three gluttons were already sitting on eating food and Chef Long was staring at her. There was a hint of contemplation in his eyes as if he was in the middle of deciding.

Li Chunhua immediately occupied a seat.

"Little Lotus, are you already okay?" Li Chunhua stuffed the little lotus’ bowl with food whilst asking.

"Kya!" (Mama, I’m okay after a hearty meal.) The little lotus’ petals swayed and he hopped on the table, picked up slices of meat and placed in it on Li Chunhua’s and Long Haoran’s bowls. "Kya!" (Eat more!)

The little guy waddled back to his spot using his little limbs. Li Chunhua stared at food and her heart warmed. When did this little glutton became considerate?

Li Chunhua also didn’t forget to serve Chef Long slices of meat. "You too Chef Long..."

Suddenly, Long Haoran gently grabbed her wrist and placed something cold on her palm. The man’s gaze lingered on her face waiting for her reaction.

Li Chunhua stared at the pin. It was nothing fancy and only have a simple design.
