Chapter 254: Opening the Rewards Chests (1)

Siri nodded. He liked to see her economic awareness and talent. With the principal price list, the amount of allowance, and the rent, if she was wise enough she can calculate it and quote a fair price.

"The territory system is not yet well-shaped and I have yet to make policy but once the population reaches that of a village-level, Master will implement stricter and comprehensives rules about taxes. Right now, the rate of tax Master had decided on was 15%." An optimal starting tax.

The women were aware of its importance and nodded.

"About the farm..." Siri cast Minerva a quick scrutinizing gaze. "After the meal, I will lead you to it. The starting salary will also be discussed later."

"Yes Deputy." Minerva respectfully bobbed her head and so as the other women.

After Siri said his entire piece, he went back to the main residence. With his departure the women introduced themselves to one another.

"Nice to meet you. I’m Remi. I used to be a store clerk then became a caravan owner before I came here."

"Cassia, you can call me Cassy."

"My name is Minerva. I know a little about farming."

The three women then turned towards the woman silently sitting on the steps.

Detecting their eager gaze, the woman parted her mouth. "Serena, a spellcaster."

A spellcaster was a rare profession that demands high Int and Luck stats. Out of the races spread in the universe, few are which can have the potential to be spellcaster and shockingly Serena was among them.

The three women strike a conversation about Serena’s class.

Serena was not used to mingle and only answered in two or three words.

Two minutes later, the men, Faustus, Erling, Stefan, and Winston arrived and also gave their formal introductions.

Remi told them about what Siri said and the men except for Faustus decided to check the training field.

They paid the entrance fee for an hour and headed inside.

The people who were sitting and checking the new map saw them and stopped. "Who are they?"

Erling, Stefan, and Winston were also sizing up the three brothers Cui, Ge, and Jun.

The others were in the third inner ring because Elga were either checking out Xiang’er skills or discussing about the new map.

Siri entered the living room where Li Chunhua, Long Haoran and the little girl were sitting. He occupied the seat on Li Chunhua’s left.

"Brother Siri, have you finished eating?" Li Chunhua asked.

"I already did." Siri nodded.

"Brother Siri, can you draw me the blueprints for the towns hall and storage unit? Uncle Rioli needs it." Li Chunhua was waiting for the Elf the whole time.

"Okay." Siri agreed. He was free until the natives finished eating.

Li Chunhua gave him a peach paper and a pen.

Since they were running low on regular papers and needed more after selling the weapon blueprints a few days ago. Li Chunhua made a mental note and made a suggestion.

"I was thinking the same." The Elf said he’ll take care of it. "Master should just focus on being stronger from now on. I will be responsible for the civil affairs."

The voice the Elf used was very heavy, Li Chunhua was startled. The memories of the tide came to her mind and she had a feeling that Brother Siri was stimulated by it.

But truthfully with the system like that, who needs enemies?

Li Chunhua rubbed her faced tiredly before opening the interface to let Brother Siri copy the blueprints.

Siri picked up the pen and started to draw.

"I’m finished eating. Master, where is the kitchen?" The girl arranged the plates and wanted to clean it. Her stomach was full after a hearty meal. It was the first time after five years that she was able to eat meat again and the taste still lingered in her mouth.

"Let me." Li Chunhua waved her finger and the plates were cleaned instantly to the last crumbs.

The girl was startled and gasped.

"You can leave it there and I will take them to kitchen later. By the way, why don’t you have a name?" Li Chunhua’s question stiffened the girl.

Long Haoran and Siri were also curious.

The girl exhaled and replied. "In our village we don’t have any name until we come of age. The Elders will conduct a tradition and the Century tree that grew on the center of our village will pick the name for us using its leaves. However, five years ago it was burned down and I didn’t have any chance."

Century tree?

Well, that’s some unique way to name someone.

So she doesn’t have a name?

Li Chunhua thought it was just the system’s doing and she felt pity for the girl. Little Mantou also didn’t have a name.

Hold on...

How about she gave her one? She couldn’t keep calling her you and little sister.

"Are you alright with me giving you one?" Li Chunhua smiled. Besides from eating, she also like giving names the most.

"Really Master? You’re giving me one?" The girl became eager and red eyes glimmered with anticipation.

Li Chunhua rubbed her chin and fell into contemplation.

Silver strands that look liked glass noodles soaked in a rich chicken broth, her cheeks that looked like freshly baked white steamed bun, and her red pupils that resembled mochi-stuffed jujubes. The trains of thoughts of foodie didn’t stop there.

I know it!

"Xiao La Ba Zhou!" Li Chunhua said.

The little girl blinked. Because of her planet being destroyed the only staple food she knows was hard bread, and water and she have no idea about La Ba Zhou and thought it was a cool name.

Long Haoran who knew of the meaning: "..." Is she serious? Little Eight Treasure Porridge?

"Do you like it?"

The girl nodded and Li Chunhua said, "I’ll call you Little Zhou or Little Treasure from now on."

"I want Little Zhou." The girl decided. It was awkward to be called treasure feeling she doesn’t deserve that name.

The name on the screen changed making Li Chunhua smiled.

Little Dumpling, Little Mantou, Little Porridge...

"I shall call the next summon as Little Noodle. Little Lotus doesn’t have a name yet. How about Red Bean Paste? Those bean paste bun that Auntie Wang was selling back then tasted good."

Long Haoran heard her hushed ramblings and didn’t know what to say.

After Little Zhou received a name, Li Chunhua put her attention on the chests. She withdrew them from her bound inventory page.

Long Haoran remembered her luck akin to a legit wishing well and gave all his treasure chests to her. "Xiao Hua, can you open them for me?"

Li Chunhua looked at the additional chests: Chef Long is really treating her as some sort of fairy godmother?

"Payment." Cans of Happy Fat water appeared in front of her.

Li Chunhua ’s eyes straightened, "Chef Long, what do you want?"
