Chapter 251: A Charm a day keeps Loyalty at bay
The little girl eyes reddened and she held her urge to cry. Just looking at the others that got summoned along with her; she felt she had no value. No smart person would spare resources to an oil bottle.
(A/N: Oil bottle is Chinese slang for burden)
Remi, Stefan, Dalloram, and the others listened to her and they were hoping that the Landowner would be magnanimous.
"Rest assured. Unless you betray me, I will not kick you out." Li Chunhua said a little loud not only for the girl to hear but for the others as well.
The people were glad by her promise, especially those with no profession.
"You’ll take me in?" The girl was torn in between excitement and disbelief. Her right hand crumpled a section of her dress.
Li Chunhua nodded. "I have one question. Can you read and write?"
The girl nodded and finally beamed a wide smile. "Yes, before coming here, the system bestow us ability to understand your language."
Li Chunhua knew that but Long Haoran wasn’t aware of this and his suspiciousness for the system grew. His mind was full of questions.
"Perfect. I have a job for you. You can learn some self-defense in the morning and join Elga in training field. At night, go to my residence to teach someone writing and reading." It would be a waste to let her potential rot but at the same time she couldn’t show favoritism and just reward someone without contributing. Private tutoring would earn her points for her meals.
This girl could also watch over the warehouse together with Remi.
Li Chunhua remembered those two little fellows. If someone can teach them, then there won’t have any language barrier anymore.
Additionally the loyalty values of everyone except Dalloram were above 55 especially this girl.
[Loyalty Value: 85/100]
The value suddenly jumped after she offered her a job.
"Yes." The girl agreed, too elated. "Master." Her smile deepened exposed two dimples on her cheeks.
Li Chunhua suddenly wanted to pinch her cheeks.
Long Haoran gazed was fixated on Xiao Hua’s smiling face because there was something in it that he couldn’t look away. The scenery on the background paled in comparison.
His thoughts were only disrupted when Siri arrived. "Master." There was a bright smile on the Elf’s face as He cast the new labor force an appreciative side-long glance and his eyes stopped on the dwarf a little longer before introducing himself.
"Greetings. My name is Siri Druindar, coming from the Clan of High Pantheon Elf, the founded kingdom of the Victor Nox. You can address me as Sir Siri or Deputy." Siri flipped his hair to the side before placing his right hand over his chest.
The new natives never expected that they would meet such a supreme race from the Upper World and they were momentarily awestruck.
"Oh my..." Even the Aunties, Remi, and the girl weren’t immune to his charms and they sustained 2000% of charm critical damage.
The men including Dalloram were also dumfounded.
The simple greeting of Siri caused the natives’ loyalty to rise by 10 and 15.
Li Chunhua ignored the blooming roses and heart arrows floating behind the Elf, and covered her mouth in surprise: Does Brother Siri knows some charm skill? This is awesome. This saved her some effort.
The crowd only recovered when Siri asked them if they already had their meals.
The people except for Dalloram answered no.
"Does anybody know how to cook?" Siri inquired.
"Deputy, I am." Cassia raised her hand.
"You should follow me to the warehouse. I will give you the initial supplies which will be credited to your account."
Initial supplies?
The natives were thrilled by the territory’s generosity and their loyally value increased again by 2-4.
Li Chunhua took notes of Brother Siri’s simple yet effective methods.
Before climbing down the steps, Siri passed by Li Chunhua and requested her something, "Master can you build another residence for them?"
"Sure thing." She agreed.
"Let’s go." Siri beckoned them to follow him.
The dwarf and the girl stayed. Siri wanted to say something but his Master spoke, "I will take care of her."
The girl smiled.
With that response, he didn’t insist anymore.
Dalloram didn’t care about the supplies. He only watched the group leave. He strode Li Chunhua and asked her where the blacksmith workshop was. Because of the star steel, he couldn’t wait to start forging. It’s been months since he held something this good.
Their planet was also affected and the forging materials their kingdom managed to get ahold each year became less and less due to the monsters occupying the ore veins and mines. Even with his 99 luck, it couldn’t save his situation at all.
He was only from a middle class and therefore couldn’t afford the price inflation and that’s the reason why he closed his shop. Such failure caused him to sought comfort from liquor and became a drunkard.
Starting anew, Dalloram decided to bury the memories in his mind. "So where’s my work station?"
"Uncle, you’re working right away? You don’t want a tour?" Li Chunhua was stunned by the dedication showed by Uncle Dall.
"I can’t let this baby wait for me. Hold on...why are you calling me Uncle?" Dalloram rubbed the ore on his cheeks before replying in puzzlement.
"Oh then would Brother Dall suffice?" Li Chunhua thought he was complaining about the age.
Brother Dall? Dalloram was horrified and scanned her young face. With her age, she could consider his great great granddaughter. How the heck did she came up with an idea.
Li Chunhua thought he was dissatisfied and chose another name. "Then, how about Gentleman Dall?"
Gen...Gentleman? That’s even more embarrassing.
Dalloram’s face became red as cooked shrimp. He coughed to cover his embarrassment. "Not that...never mind...call me Uncle then." He was fine by Dalloram or ’you’ but this Master of his didn’t seemed to want to create a boundary and casually called him so. His impression of her became a bit better.
