In the Falcon Squad, Li Jingnan was overseeing the Third Round.

Li Jingnan knew the special skill of these bastards when he was fighting against them and if they didn’t eliminate majority of them in one strike, the aftermaths is troublesome.

Fireballs, Ice arrows, light beams, and all sort of magic attacks rained down on the Zergs.

Damage indicators floated on top of the monsters.

Li Jingnan was dissatisfied. Compared to his Master who can easily crush these fellows just with his bare hands, he was extremely lacking.

The Falcon Squad excluding Li Jingnan though these will be an easy battle, just they were about to launch another attack the Zergs disappeared and burrowed to the soil.

Li Jingnan hurriedly said, "Lookout for the front! Those things are going to pop..."

"Ah!" A female mage screamed when she saw something leapt high and strength its claws towards her.

The tank next to her quickly reacted and blocked the attack. "Stay behind me!"

The others regained their senses and helped the tank and bombarded the Level 5 Zerg.

The Zerg was knocked back, suffered injuries and returned to the hole where it came from.

Si saw the whole thing and questioned his Captain. "What is that?"

Li Jingnan remembered his Master.

"What are those things and where they came from...Master?" Li Jingnan asked.

Inside a wide space room made of wood that seems old, two figures were seating on the table, an old man whose build was larger than the young man sitting across him.

The old man’s build was large that tea cup in his hands became tiny.

The old man wearing a white tang suit with white long hair tied into a ponytail by a strip of white cloth placed his wooden cup down.

"I’m not sure about it but the researchers say they found some unknown elements in those things’ cells which matched the meteor that descended on a particular village 110 years ago, indicating they were not from this planet. Anyway I’m not good with this things...disciple better ask something else."

Ling Jingan remembered the battle he had yesterday, "Then why are so many pits around the city?"

The old man slapped the table almost breaking it and laughed loudly, "Those creatures came to invade our planet 3 years after the Great Calamity that my granddaughter and her friends ended. These loathsome creatures attack us and planned to occupy the land and make a meal out of our supernaturalists. The first 2 years were rough until we found a breakthrough in the skill we mysteriously inherited." The old man took a sip of his tea before grinning.

"Thus we begin hunting them and those creatures couldn’t defend the lands they plundered and were continuously pushed back. Ultimately, they developed their own skills of digging to escape and built their cities underground. But occasionally roamed the surface to hunt for lone and easy targets."

"Then where is your granddaughter?" Li Jingnan was very curious about what sort of person was his Master’s granddaughter.

The old man stopped upon remembering someone. She likes to dig tunnels too...If she was here, then all those creatures would already be wiped out just like what she did to the Undead ten years ago.

With the Zergs seeking the protection of Mother Earth, the Salted Fish could only stare blankly at the ground. "Uhmm, what now?"

"The gap in the trench will be the new killing zone. We’ll focus our fire there. Master, notify each side if they fell into the trench. Withdraw the rain first and use that fire bombs, coupled with the damage amplifier. With this method we can force them out. Just save Little Lotus for later."

"It is feasible!" Elga supported the Elf’s idea.

"I’m in it." Long Haoran too.

"Then, let’s proceed." Right, the time little lotus can transform is very limited and demands huge amount of food to recover.

Each team quickly changed the direction of the trebuchets and ballista and attached the stones with three fire bombs and one Damage Amplifier.

"Master, tell us when to aim!"

Li Chunhua opened her eyes wide and swept 360 degrees of the surroundings. The trench circling around the territory became a line in her eyes and there were red dots approaching it.

"East Side now!"

"Release!" Long Haoran ordered and four stones with papers flapping with the wind flew into an arc and landed inside the trench.

Hundreds of Zergs just managed to arrive at the trench and fell in.

There was a deafening explosion and the tongues of flames emerged from the trench, as tall as 5 meters. The ear-splitting inhumane screams of monsters echoed.

Elga didn’t go behind the weapons because of her pitiful mana but left to the others. "Release!"

The same happened but the flames did lesser damage.

The Zergs had also arrived at the trench of the South Side. Li Chunhua quickly let go.

The Salted Fishes saw the sudden decrease in numbers and cheered.

A massive pit was created and a curtain of 30 meters flames burst into a sky making the temperature in the area hot and scorching. Everyone was sweating and fanning themselves from the heat.

The strong smell of burnt flesh wafted everyone’s noses.

"Hukk!"

The fire crawled out the trench, spread consuming the vines, the stakes and palisades, turning them into a dusts.

Because of the intense fire, the Zergs were either force to leapt out and changed the course of their digging, Li Chunhua was relieved.

But the battle was not finished yet...

"Target those escaping! With their skins burned, their physical defenses will decrease!"

Li Chunhua and those close combat saw the health of the monsters and jumped down.

The bangle on her hand turned to spear and she quickly killed those escaping and running towards the wall.

Bai Susu and others used the ropes to descend and joined Li Chunhua in eliminating these injured Zergs.

While the support units took over the crossbows and aimed at those who were just emerging from the trench.

The other sides also employed the same method until they saw the fire turned black.

Li Chunhua sensed threat coming from it and commanded her team to back away.

The black fire entered the holes made by the Zergs and chased those who were fleeing.

"Huuk!"

The screams inside the trench were getting louder and they saw the population were quickly decreasing.

Li Chunhua infused her eyes with qi and saw what was happening in those tunnels. The fire as if having a mind of its own swallowed the monsters.

In the East Side, Long Haoran’s gaze was unfocused because he was controlling the flame. He never knew in this experiment, he would discover a quicker way to use it but it was taxing on the mind.

When the numbers of the monsters were at [2980/ 5000], his proficiency leveled up halfway to 3 before he felt a headache.

He cut off the connection and the fire returned to the original hue.

A screen appeared in front of him.

"Chef Long, is your side okay? The fire just now..."

"It’s me." Long Haoran confessed.
