And the new changes were: the wooden fences had become a 1 and a half meter cobblestone wall with 300 HP and 15 Defense. The thatched cottage turned to a log cabin with 250 HP and 10 HP. The space inside doubled and two more rooms appeared- toilet and kitchen.Two more territory buildings were available and the existing buildings can be upgraded.

The leaders of the large teams and those who were playing solo examined the new features and divided their time between collecting the necessary materials and coins and fighting monsters.

The sky painted with orange hue and if this was the peaceful previous world, households would start preparing for dinner and kids would return home from schools. Commercial streets and business establishment would be bustling with the increase in foot traffic.

In the countryside, the farmers would return home after tilling, plowing the land, and harvesting the crops, or from taking care of their cattles, sheeps and other livestock. Their wives would welcome them home with a smile and set the table early.

Unfortunately, those peaceful days were gone. Even within the barriers, everyone felt fear for the upcoming tide and was rushing to build defenses apart from leveling up which led to the prices of the basic construction resources’ inflation.

The Salted Fish residents aside from some of the natives and the Aunties who focused on life skills had also began their careers.

The current population of the Salted Fish was 29: with 22 probationary, 6 permanent, and Li Chunhua.

The current class statistics apart from Fern and the three beastmen was 5 combat class (3 warrior including the female spear wielder, 1 knight, 1 assassin), and 3 long-ranged/ ADC (1 female mage, 1 archer, and 1 summoner).

The people from the grinding team sat on the wooden planks placed outside the hut residents and helped the Aunties prepare for dinner. Stove made of stones were built temporarily. Aunt He and another Auntie were in charge of cooking.

Fern, the three beastmen and the natives who just finished building the public bathroom and toilets joined them after being called. Elga and Little Mantou were also invited and accepted the free food.

Since the Meng Chu and the other gathered lot of vegetables and mushrooms and the warehouse had replenished lots of meat. Aunt took some coins in the team’s coffers and bought 7kg of pork, salt, pepper, oil, and flour. If they were still in the Boundless Hope, they would not be able to have access to these.

Deep inside, Aunt He and the others were very grateful for Baozi for taking them in and not hoarding the supplies.

Two large pots of rice were already cooked.

She chopped the vegetables looking like shepherd’s purse and chopped the pork finely before seasoning and mixing them well. The other aunties made the wonton wrappers, sautéed malantous, and braised pork.

Meng Chu cut long slices of pork into small cubes, skewered them into bamboo sticks, seasoned them, lit a small bonfire and grilled the meat. The three brothers helped him in preventing the meat from getting burned.
