Chapter 85: Ch 85: What happened in the Restaurant - Part 3

"Sharon, you said that you are not hungry, right? Then we should head back now. I am beginning to feel tired, and I need some rest. Let’s go back now."

Daniel felt it would be dangerous for him to stay here longer. His friend had a foul mouth on him, and he looked ready to unleash some words at Sharon for what happened.

His consideration made Sharon frown, and she looked at her food worriedly.

"Let’s just eat here. I suddenly started feeling hungry and wanted something in my stomach before we left."

Sharon sat back down, and that glare intensified.

Seeing how his lover had no intention of leaving this place, Daniel sighed and decided to give in to this situation.

He would face the music later once he had time to rethink what happened. But until then, he wanted to enjoy this silence a little longer.

The dinner seemed to last forever as Sharon ignored all social cues. He tried to pass her to tell her that they should leave.

Daniel saw his friend getting angrier by the second and knew he would never get a reservation at this place again.

He had no idea who that alpha couple had been, but they were important enough for his friend to make all this fuzz about.

"Tsk, this is so annoying! But now I feel so much better. Having some food in my stomach makes me feel more energetic. So, what are we going to do now? Shall we watch a movie? I think there is a good one being shown..."

Sharon asked in a flirty and airy voice. Her behavior almost seemed drunk, but something about it made Daniel frown.

"Mother, you smell weird. Are you feeling alright? Your pheromones...they smell awkward...."

James pointed out what Daniel was feeling, and Sharon paused before her expression crumbled. She sighed, tired.

"I am not fine. I almost caused an incident when that alpha pair approached me. I felt like I was about to die or something. Thankfully, I had you both with me, and I could get through somehow.

But I could tell that you were disappointed in me, Daniel. Are you still angry at me?"

Sharon asked in a small voice that seemed sad. Her expression caused Daniel’s irritation to melt away, and he knew that he wouldn’t be able to be angry at her for anything that happened.

"Tsk, forget about it. What happened was not your fault, and I understand it. There is no need for you to feel sorry or apologize. I will sort out any problem you face, so don’t worry about anything."

Daniel promised Sharon with a slight frown on his face.

As soon as he said that, he knew he was in for trouble. He had intended to scold Sharon for her behavior, but how could he do that to his lover now?

She looked ready to collapse, and she also looked scared thinking about what happened.

’That’s right! What happened was not Sharon’s fault but the fault of those two alphas. I am sure my friend would understand what I am saying and not cause me much grief.’

Knowing his friend, Daniel was sure he would get a call about what happened any second.

Just as he expected, his phone rang, and he picked it up to check who was calling him.

The caller ID showed his friend’s name, and Daniel excused himself to pick up this call.

"What the heck do you think you were doing? Do you want to see me go out of business? Do you have any idea what kind of people you offended just now? Ugh, what the hell am I going to do now?"

Daniel’s friend seemed to be panicking as he tried to think of ways to make it up to the alpha pair.

This was the first time Daniel had seen his friend behaving like this, which struck him as odd.

"What do you mean, what are you going to do? You don’t have to do anything. The one who offended those people was not you but a customer. How is that your responsibility?"

Daniel asked in an annoyed voice.

Sharon’s behavior had already concerned her, but this was going over the top. He was beginning to feel frustrated because of what was happening.

Daniel’s lack of concern for what he had done wrong frustrated his friend, who gritted his teeth.

"How fun! Do you think I am saying all this for no reason? Man, you sure are a heartless person. And to think I considered someone like you a friend of mine.

I never said this to you because you looked happy with your ’mistress,’ but I think it’s time for you to leave her and focus on your married life. You are destroying yourself by being unfaithful to your wife.

This is all the advice I can give you. I hope you consider what I said and keep your life on track."

Daniel felt offended and angry at the same time.

There was only one person in this world he was not willing to hear anything about: Sharon. But recently, the universe told him he needed to escape her.

It made Daniel angry, and he refused to listen to his friend anymore.

"You know what? I thought we were friends, but I was mistaken about it. I will cut this call now, and we shall never discuss it again. I hope being away from you will bring you back to your senses and make you realize what you are saying to me."

Daniel spoke angrily before he cut the call. With this, he had just ended his ten-year-old friendship with Sharon. But he refused to regret it.

Daniel had chosen the latter between his friend and his lover, which he had to keep with. There was no room left to regret anything.

’Sharon needs me right now, and I will not abandon her because of these small things. I will be a good partner to her.’
