Chapter 68: Ch 68: The demands - Part 2

"So, Madam, is there anything I can help you with? I am here to serve you, after all. You should tell me if you need me to do anything."

Sharon asked in a low but sarcastic voice. She wanted Anabella to feel uncomfortable talking to her, so she spoke this way.

Anyone else would have gotten the hint and gone red in the face, but Anabella turned out to be a harder nut to crack than Sharon expected.

Not only did the young omega ignore Sharon’s tone of voice, but she also sat down at the dining table and looked the caretaker in the face while making her demands.

"You are right. I should ask you to cook me food since you are our caretaker. Daniel always told me you are a good cook, so can you cook fried eggs for breakfast?"

Anabella asked in a shameless voice. Sharon did not see her demand coming; her instincts wanted her to decline it.

What kind of love rival asked for such a thing? It was unprecedented, and it made Sharon feel uncomfortable.

But since she had been asked to do only one thing, Sharon had no face to decline Anabella, and she ended up doing what she was asked to do by the younger.

She made eggs as carefully as possible but wanted to mix other things to make Anabella sick.

In the end, Sharon resisted the urge to mix anything into the food and placed it on the table in front of Anabella.

"Here, your plate of breakfast. Do take a bite and tell me how you like it."

Sharon asked, and Anabella took a few bites before she pushed the plate toward Sharon.

"You look hungry as well, Sharon. Why don’t you eat some of what you made? I am full, so I want to get ready and head out now." Anabella wasted more than half her food, and Sharon felt her heart boil in anger.

’How dare that stupid girl waste all this food I cooked for her? Do I look that easy to her? Does she not have any manners or something?’

Sharon asked herself before she took a bite of her food and almost threw it up when it touched her tongue.

The food had twice the usual salt level, and some sugar was mixed. It was a miracle that Anabella could taste it and keep eating.

"Is that girl a masochist or something? How did she even digest such food?"

Sharon wondered as she quickly discarded the food she had placed before her and began making a new breakfast plate for herself.

Dealing with Daniel’s mother first thing in the morning was something she had neither expected nor wanted to do.

Sharon had spent more physical and emotional energy than she needed to, and now she needed to recharge.

The food was normal this time, and Sharon ate it just fine. Then, she prepared all the lunchboxes with extra care before the two alphas in the house had to leave.

...

Anabella could tell the food tasted funny, but her tongue felt numb after eating the first few bites.

It made her unable to taste anything she put in her mouth, and her throat also felt swollen.

Panic rose inside Anabella’s chest, but she quickly pushed it down. She knew these symptoms well, and they were not deadly.

’Tsk, my heat is approaching. I need to get my hands on some strong suppressants to make sure I pass this heat safely. Ugh, coming off these suppressants and having a real heat would be a bitch in the future.’

Anabella sighed as she felt a shiver go down her spine.

Now that she knew her heart was approaching, she could also feel other symptoms.

Her sense of smell had gotten sharper, and she could hear better. Her body felt hyper-sensitive, and she wanted to nest.

But no matter where she looked, Anabella could not find a safe spot to lie down.

"Usually, I do not let my condition get this bad before I start taking suppressants. But this time is different. I got too distracted by all that was happening."

Speaking out loud made Anabella feel a bit better, but her heart jumped in her throat when she felt a presence turn the next corner and appear in front of her.

Anabella controlled her moments before she could collide with the man before her, and Daniel’s unamused face looked back at her.

"What are you doing here? And why do you stink so bad? Did you forget to take a shower or something? If so, then go and take one as soon as possible. You are making me feel uncomfortable."

Her husband looked offended when he noticed Anabella and smelled her pheromones. He looked like he wanted to tear Anabella apart where she stood, but he was barely holding himself back.

Because of her scent pouches, Anabella’s heat smelled sour, but that wouldn’t happen soon.

Once these patches ran out, her heat-aided scent filled the house, making it dangerous for her to be there.

"Don’t worry! You won’t see me for a few days because of medical issues. I will make a reservation at a regular place I like to go to during these days."

Anabella did not tell Daniel what she was talking about, but his expression told her he understood.

When the heat approached, unbonded omegas like her went to only one facility. It was an open secret that everyone knew, but no one liked to mention it in polite company.

Hearing this made Daniel’s face redden, and he coughed to hide his discomfort from Anabella.

"I see! If that’s the case, then you should hurry up. Do not tell me such things in the future since I am not interested to know more about you."

Daniel denied it before quickly disappearing with a flush on his face. In the end, he was not able to hide the evidence that evidence and the shame he felt at being caught red-faced because of his wife’s words.
