Chapter 163: Chapter 150 Calamity Plague

[Star Dragon Ridge Outpost Update Announcement]

[Update 1: The stable station has now been constructed and is open for use. Undead can go there to use points to adopt a Catastrophe Warhorse or tame one themselves. Please remember, Catastrophe Warhorses require regular feeding and training, so having plenty of Star Grass fodder might save you a lot of trouble. Star Grass fodder is available for purchase in the stores.]

[Update 2: Leon City dungeon is now open, defeat the dungeon boss, Lord Leon, to successfully enable the display of the Player’s Main City construction progress. Building the Main City unlocks more features and more quests.]

Long lines have already formed at the stable station.

In the past, some undead managed to obtain Catastrophe Warhorses through strength or by forcefully teaming up, but capturing one does not mean it can be ridden. Catastrophe Warhorses are also Calamity monsters, only tamed by Star Grass.

Most people can only look at Catastrophe Warhorses with admiration and drool helplessly.

Using points for exchange is currently the only means available.

Now, there are many ways to earn points at Star Dragon Ridge Outpost, such as farming in the Calamity Shadow Region, to mention the most stable method. Here, one can either farm monsters for Fragment of the Heart of Calamity or sell food for points.

On the forums, someone has already compiled an article called "Star Dragon Ridge Outpost Farming Codex," which includes several pages specifically on what mutated plants to grow in which environments and which foods recently fetched higher point values in exchanges.

Players don’t complain about the game being full of details; when there’s an excess of a material, its selling price goes down, and when a material is scarce, the price goes up. The undead enjoy this dynamic.

Of course, most people enjoy it the most when their own materials sell at the highest prices.

Another way is by acquiring faction quests. While these are released infrequently, they offer substantial points rewards—like the recent Leon City siege battle, in which all participants received points rewards.

Initially planning to use points just for adopting a Catastrophe Warhorse, the undead who received a large award are now considering also exchanging for saddles, horseshoes, and even some decorations for the warhorse.

Earn points at Star Dragon, spend points at Star Dragon, don’t even think about taking them home.

The reason for the long lines is the insufficient number of Catastrophe Warhorses at the stable station, creating a demand that far exceeds supply.

Lind has already assigned teams specifically for training Catastrophe Warhorses, sent people to harvest Star Grass, and even had a team of pharmacists led by Miss Miko to research more portable alternatives to turning Star Grass into dry fodder.

Surrounding the "Mount System," Lind has deployed a large number of NPCs, far exceeding any previous updates.

But at the current pace, most people will have to wait a good while before they can ride a warhorse.

Some lack sufficient points, mainly those who joined Star Dragon Ridge Outpost late and lack both points and faction levels.

The batch of undead who recently joined during the Leon City influx can’t even exchange points for Magic Potion from Two-Headed People.

A tycoon shouted out a price of a small Honda Fit in exchange for one Catastrophe Warhorse.

Offline trades have never actually happened; some fear being cheated, while others are hesitant because Catastrophe Warhorses are too scarce and excellent for transportation. They’re too busy using them to consider giving them to someone else.

Many tasks require traveling to multiple locations, and having a Catastrophe Warhorse can cut travel time by at least three-quarters, greatly enhancing the gaming experience.

Riding into battle, one’s strength also increases.

"Damn, cool, too cool, let me ride, bro!"

"You want to ride bro or the horse?"

"Hey, look what you’re saying, as long as bro lets me ride the horse, I can ride bro too."

The tack shop that opened next to the stable station also attracts those undead currently unable to acquire a Catastrophe Warhorse, with all kinds of horsegear dazzling them.

Pretty, stylish—is their basic requirement. Luckily, everything in the tack shop Lind has set up, each item after his review guarantees a basic level of aesthetic. Lind later realized Bard did so well in aesthetic design, aside from pursuing a golden color, whether it was patterns or shape, they were great. Interference would only impact the work, so he just passed on broad data and let it go.

At the same time, with Leon City captured, the trading channels for ore and food between Star Dragon Ridge Outpost and the Starlet Mine factions are officially open.

Lind noticed that Starlet Mine didn’t want to get involved with any powers. He also preferred not to make enemies everywhere.

As long as they continuously supplied the ore he needed, Lind didn’t mind having a neutral power within his own territory.

The precondition is that they remain neutral.

Carts pulled by a dozen Catastrophe Warhorses set out and returned fully loaded with ore.

Lind idly picked up a piece of ore, suspecting that the mine chief, Ge Nan, and his miners were probably searching for something in the mines rather than just mining mindlessly.

"How much?"

Listening to the soldier’s report of the trade, Lind was somewhat surprised.

"A small bag of food for a cart of ore?"

It takes at least three to five people to mine out a cart of ore, and a small bag of food would barely suffice for three to five people to eat halfway full.

It’s completely a thankless task.

"They seem to be grudgingly fixing the price, but Harbor Village previously offered even lower."

"It should have been people from Harbor Village who went."
