The Boss King actually disguised himself as a novice village chief?!
Chapter 140 - 140 130 Spice Illusion Clone

140: Chapter 130: Spice Illusion Clone 140: Chapter 130: Spice Illusion Clone Bard met the Lord again.

After he succeeded in crafting the dragon skin armor, he took the initiative to deliver it to Lind.

Designed to fit the Lord’s powerful body, the tanned Earth Dragon skin was tough and flexible and naturally resistant to flames, and it was adorned with a layer of golden plate armor.

The people from the City of Gold are naturally obsessed with the color gold.

With his special armor-crafting skill, the enchanted golden plate armor had become one with the dragon skin.

The streamlined Golden Armor featured designs of lions and dragons at the shoulders, helmet, and chestplate, and as the most aesthetically inclined armorer in the Rand Kingdom, Bard’s taste and technique were always trustworthy.

Lind’s primary concern was defensive power and durability, and in this regard, he wasn’t disappointed.

Knowing that Lind had the ability of the “Soul-Locking Chainmail”, Bard specifically left gaps in the armor to allow Lind to guide the chains through deftly, instantly merging the Soul-Locking Chainmail with the Golden Dragon Skin Plate Armor.

Besides defense and fire resistance, it also added the counterattack feature of the chainmail.

For Lind, controlling his own power was never too difficult; he even felt as though the dragon skin plate armor gave him the sensation of wearing an exoskeleton.

Seeing Lind’s satisfaction with the armor, Bard also felt relieved.

Unlike Prince Lance’s intense desire for war and to return to Goliath, one of Bard’s main jobs was to craft armor, and making dragonscale armor for the crown prince had been the honor of his lifetime.

Bard found the Lord’s praise for his armor more gratifying than the pleasure he got from overseeing the entire small goods assembly line in Prey Town.

His loyalty was to present his best work to those he served.

Just as a chef’s greatest wish is to be praised for culinary excellence.

Lind was very content with the whole set of armor.

His body was strong enough that even with the armor on, he moved swiftly, and his speed wasn’t significantly affected.

Bard had left enough openings throughout the armor to easily extend chains, such as the hooks on the back made to hang “Carrion Queen’s Broken Sword”.

The mechanical pouch at the waist was also quite interesting, as Bard had a passion for mechanisms, which folded to occupy less space, something he seemed to be studying recently.

It was unclear whether it was a mechanism or magic.

The workings of the Magic World were too idealistic to be fully investigated.

Lind knew all too well that he would never learn magic in his life; using his strength was one thing, but employing an idealistic method to cast spells and unravel the relationship between chanting and releasing would probably make him scratch his head bald.

Fortunately, with the Sun’s Testament, Lind didn’t need to worry about magic.

Even the techniques of a Great Knight came naturally to him, without the need for waiting, guiding, or experimenting.

“I need you to make a batch of harnesses: horseshoes, reins, saddles, and so on.

Oh, and the decorative trappings for the warhorses too!”

While tack was essential, it was the decorative trappings for the warhorses that were significantly more important, even if they were practically useless, as they could help Lind harvest a substantial number of Points from the Undead.

No need for a Coachman, as the Catastrophe Warhorses were different from ordinary horses.

Strictly speaking, they should eat meat, not grass.

Yet, before Lind, a group of Catastrophe Warhorses appeared contentedly living in the pasture, showing no aggression when approached.

He reasonably suspected that the problem lay with the Starlight Grass.

Upon Bard’s departure, Lind sent him away with a bag of the broad-leafed grass he called Starlight Grass.

Now, the only one capable of investigating this was Mico, with her sensitivity to Magic Potion, she might be able to detect the issue.

Prey Town, Holy Water Town, and Harbor Village, the three Newbie Villages, were now fully under Lind’s control, and he directly caused two of them to be abandoned.

He instinctively didn’t want to be associated with The Officials of the game, lest he attracted unforeseen troubles.

In the blink of an eye, another two days passed, and the post station was initially built.

Meanwhile, the NPCs from Harbor Village had returned to Prey Town after their long journey.

Before heading back to Star Dragon Ridge, Lind decided to attend to the current matters first.

“Is this the new spice you’ve been researching?”

Lind looked at Miss Brittany’s latest creation, about to take a deep breath of it, only to be stopped by her.

“It’s not for smelling,” Brittany explained as she took the spices.

She always wore a veil that covered the lower half of her face, her big eyes and the red dot on her forehead exuding an exotic allure.

Although it was currently winter and one couldn’t fully discern Brittany’s figure, her slender fingers and the almost fleshless neck suggested she must be quite impressive.

Their relationship, however, was not close; it remained the formal one of a lord and a pharmacist.

To Lind, all that mattered was that the tool performed its job well; nothing else was important.

Miss Brittany tossed the spices onto the ground, producing rising mists, and then there stood Lind, clad in golden dragon leather plate armor, in front of both of them.

Lind blinked, “Is this an illusion?”

He could even feel the aura of a Senior Grand Knight emanating from the other, as if there truly was another self standing there.

When he reached out to grab the other, to his surprise, the figure was suddenly set ablaze.

“Clore’s Fury?” Lind instinctively drew back his hand and turned to look at Brittany.

Great Knight skills were readily exchangeable with points, but without the path of ‘Sun’s Testament,’ it was impossible to learn them; these skills were essentially guidance and application of one’s own power.

An illusion with an ability identical to his own?

“Can you see it?” Lind asked.

“His entire body is on fire,” Brittany answered.

So she really could see it.

That meant the effect Lind witnessed was not a figment of his own mind; the other was vividly there, using his abilities right in front of him.

In a daze, Lind seemed to see himself raise a sword high and then smash it down heavily.

Though his heart tightened, Lind’s basic response to danger was to charge forward rather than shrink back.

He delivered a punch to the chest of the ‘other,’ only to find he’d completely punched through air.

It was indeed an illusion.

The struck “Lind” wavered for a while before finally vanishing.

Yet, Lind’s heart started racing suddenly; he quickly spoke, “There’s still a lot wrong with this spice.

Why did I feel like a puppet on strings just now?”

“Because the more familiar the subject, the more realistic the illusion created,” she explained.

In other words, we’re not close, and the fact I’ve managed this much is already quite an achievement.

“Can those illusions speak?” Lind inquired.

Brittany looked at Lind, puzzled by the leap in the conversation, but still nodded gently.

“Good, I need you to make a spice clone that is as similar to me as possible, including the aura, tone of voice, and so on.

It would be great if it could respond at a fixed location based on predetermined lines.”

This is indeed the definition of a tool!

Lind is probably the only one in this world who’d think to use himself as a tool.

Lind communicated his idea to Brittany, only to be met with her shaking her head, “It’s difficult.

I’ve never tried it before, and it will definitely require the Heart of Calamity.”

“The Heart of Calamity again?” Lind suddenly felt that maybe one day, the end of calamity wouldn’t be due simply to it being eradicated.

Pharmacists really do have an affinity for the Heart of Calamity.
