Chapter 105 - 105 96 Experience Potion
105: Chapter 96: Experience Potion 105: Chapter 96: Experience Potion At lunchtime, Lind saw Miko, whose aura had become somewhat strange, in an enigmatic state that seemed both present and absent.
The reaction that was supposed to occur from drinking the Magic Potion was finally happening.
It was indeed good news.
A High-ranking Wizard was about to emerge in the territory.
Would the production of the Magic Potion speed up, for instance, having one person look after thirty to fifty crucibles?
“What are you thinking about?” Miss Miko’s eyes lingered on Lind’s hair for a while.
When she met Lind’s gaze, she said, “I think it’s quite nice when it’s fluffy.”
Unexpectedly, she took the initiative to comment.
“It will block the eyes,” Lind gestured near his eyebrows with his hand.
His long golden hair made Lind’s cheeks look softer, while short hair would enhance his rugged demeanor, making him appear more aggressive.
Lian really liked it when he was more aggressive.
Lind carried a bowl of soup to Miko’s side, and he squeezed in to sit next to her with a plop.
“How’s the preparation for the Magic Potion?”
“Are you sure you want to try drinking it now?” Miko stealthily glanced at Lian and noticed that Lian’s expression remained composed while eating, only pausing noticeably when she spoke.
Perhaps Lian was pricking up her ears to eavesdrop.
“I can prepare some Experience Potions for you,” Miko had been helping Lind cook the Magic Potion, but it was too risky to allow someone who had just become a Great Knight a month ago to ascend to the Upper Rank immediately.
For a normal person, the Magic Potion in the body wouldn’t be fully absorbed in a month.
Drinking a new one forcibly would turn one into pus, a monster, or even a complete Calamity.
In dealing with Lind, Miko also had no precedent to follow.
The only rational member of the Old Nobility she had seen or even heard of was Lind.
If Lind hadn’t been standing right in front of her, she would have believed he was a host body snatched by a Calamity; after the Ring of Magic broke, the Old Nobility trying to grasp that power would only collapse into madness or even death, and even if the body survived, the soul would surely perish.
“You can try drinking it for a while, and when you feel it’s about the right time, then take the Magic Potion.”
“About the right time?
When is that?”
“Anyway, it’s that kind of feeling that you’ll understand when you get there.”
Still claiming it’s not subjective!
…
Inside the spherical Magic Potion Bottle, a peculiar potion radiated a green glow.
The Experience Potion, according to Miko, was a kind that could help people digest the Magic Potion more quickly and advance to the next stage faster.
She chose to cook Magic Potion for Ronin in Prey Town to obtain the formula, but it’s hard to say whether Ronin lost or gained, since she had to earn at least twice the amount from one batch of Magic Potion she cooked.
Lind “pop” opened the stopper, and the moment the potion collided with the air, a tuft of white mist exploded.
It wafted upwards, swaying, and eventually dissipated.
Sniffing the Magic Potion Bottle under his nose, the scent was somewhat acidic; the mist that popped and splashed onto his face was like a carbonated drink.
It didn’t smell as disgusting or as difficult to swallow as other Magic Potions, except for the color, which was less complimentary.
He took a sip.
It was a little bit sweet, but there was no need to drink it like sugar water—its cost was so high that a large sack of sugar wouldn’t be enough to exchange for such a small bottle of Magic Potion.
“Can this type of Magic Potion be mass-produced?” Lind was certain that it was precisely that thing called “happy water for fat otakus” on Earth.
“It doesn’t matter if it lacks Magic Potion effects, as long as the flavor is there.”
Miko looked at him as if she were staring at a fool.
There was actually someone in the world willing to give up the efficacy of a Magic Potion for its flavor.
“All right,” Lind shut his mouth.
He simply wanted to add a little sweetness to his monotonous life as an indulgence.
Life is about enduring the subsequent bitterness with a little bit of sweetness.
Fortunately, what used to be the most painful experience of taking medicine, had now become the sweetest thing.
He tilted his head back and poured the entire bottle into his mouth.
Before he could even savor the sweetness, the urge to burp rose to his chest.
After that, a burst of strength exploded within Lind’s body.
It was as if an invisible hammer was relentlessly pounding inside him, and certain blocked areas within his body seemed to burst open all of a sudden—he felt as though he understood everything in an instant.
This potion was miraculous!
Lind turned his head and looked around; the world before him became incredibly vivid, he could notice every corner that he had not seen before and feel every bit of roughness and every depression on the walls.
“Snap out of it!” Mico waved a hand in front of Lind’s face.
“What’s wrong?” Lind frowned, slightly dissatisfied at being pulled out of that state by Mico.
“Do you feel like you understand everything, as if you’ve grasped all the truths of the world?”
“Exactly,” Lind clenched his fist, waking up to the realization after Mico’s prompt.
His mind was absolutely clear and rational, yet it led him to make some very irrational judgments—he even felt like he could single-handedly take on both Serene the Great and the Earth Dragon.
“This kind of potion does have a few minor issues,” said Mico, tapping on the table to indicate that all was a normal occurrence.
At this moment, the effects of the experience potion within Lind were not fully dissipated, and his senses were exceedingly sharp; the sudden noise Mico made by tapping the table swiftly captured his attention.
His eyes subconsciously fixated on that small hand.
Was this hand always so tiny?
Lind reached out and grabbed the hand, then compared it to his own.
Ha, it really was quite small.
“Hey!
Wake up!” Lind was jolted awake by a karate chop to his forehead, which wasn’t hard enough to tickle but was enough to snap him out of it; he looked at Mico in surprise.
Only then did he notice that he had actually grabbed Mico’s wrist, and their hands—one significantly larger than the other—were aligned at the wrist with the palms completely touching.
Mico’s cheeks flushed red, baring her rabbit teeth, and her actions made it clear that if Lind didn’t let go soon, she would leap at him and bite him to death.
Lind casually released her hand.
“Is this what experience potions are like?” Just now, he had felt that everything he did was a matter of course, a strong self-confidence, and simply because he saw Mico’s rather small hand, he had instinctively reached out and grabbed it.
It was even scarier than being drunk.
“Drinking this kind of magic potion can be quite torturous,” Mico said.
Quite torturous, Lind hadn’t experienced that yet.
“How do you feel?
Do you feel something special?” Mico gestured.
“Something special, like what?”
“It’s different for everyone,” Mico explained, “After drinking an experience potion, if a person has the chance to advance, they’ll feel full, and the more bloated they feel, the stronger the possibility to advance.
Others might experience a sensation of fatigue after exercise—the more tired they are, the stronger the opportunity.”
Lind recalled, “Now that you mention it, I do feel quite bloated…
isn’t it because of carbonated drinks?”
Mico didn’t respond but just stared at Lind’s face.
“What is it?”
“Does the world favor the Old Nobility this much?” Mico looked a little strained, “When I drank several bottles, I didn’t feel full at all, nor did I feel the need to burp.”
“Hahahaha,” Lind laughed loudly, simply because the rabbit’s frantic appearance was very cute—it was possible he would reach out and pinch her cheeks if he thought he might get bitten.
