Chapter 350: Jinyi Guard

Chapter 350: Chapter 350: Jinyi Guard

With wide eyes, Zhao Nuo frowned in thought, keenly capturing the deeper meaning behind the few words.

Watching the little one with what seemed like an innate political sensitivity, Zhu Haomiao couldn’t help but marvel at the wonder of the Child of Destiny.

"Now the Yue King’s faction is guarding the frontier, and the Yue King himself holds the position of Great General; externally, the gun is temporarily stable."

"But we lack the gun internally, which is why there are treacherous people secretly causing trouble."

With a cold laugh, the youth’s eyes flashed with cold light as he leisurely whispered.

"I plan to establish a brand-new violent agency which will integrate intelligence, public security, justice, and defense functions, to stabilize the country in a short period."

Hearing this, Zhao Nuo furrowed her little brows: "Sounds like an enhanced version of the Anti-theft Bureau."

"That’s right, you can see the Anti-theft Bureau as part of it, it will surpass all current bureaucratic systems, unrestricted by courtiers, and answer only to you."

Hearing this, the little girl’s eyes lit up with excitement; she had had enough of being patronized as a child by the outer court ministers.

"Great! What’s the name of this agency? I’ll organize it immediately!"

Seeing Zhao Nuo’s eager and excited demeanor, Zhu Haomiao squinted with a mischievous smile.

"Jinyi Guard."

"Jinyi Guard?!"

Tasting this strange name lightly, Zhao Nuo didn’t overthink it, nodding decisively, then shifted her conversation.

"With the internal gun in place, what about the wallet?"

"I have a friend who is quite knowledgeable in economic construction, fit for the role of Minister of Revenue."

"Where is he?"

"Just outside the hall."

"Come in!"

Not long after, a dignified, handsome Colorful Eyes Person walked into the hall with a respectful bow.

"Commoner Wilson, greets Your Majesty."

...

Less than half a month after Zhao Nuo ascended the throne, a monstrous institution quietly formed in secret.

Incorporating the elite personnel from the Anti-theft Bureau and the city defense forces, with independent judicial authority, the Jinyi Guard began to expand rapidly.

Yet they did not hurry to take action; Zhu Haomiao waited until the organizational structure matured and a batch of descenders from the Yanhuang Armory replenished them, officially forming combat power, before allowing the Jinyi Guard to show their tusks for the first time.

Their first target was the recently dismissed former Minister of Revenue, Liao Zhiyuan, who harbored resentments.

"Damn yellow-haired brat! Forcing me to resign for a Colorful Eyes Person! What nonsense could a barbarian possibly know about revenue and expenditure!"

In the angry roar, a serene middle-aged man sipped tea gently, smiling to calm him.

"A new emperor brings a new group of ministers. You’ve accumulated wealth rivaling nations; isn’t enjoying retirement a good thing?"

Hearing this, Liao Zhiyuan glared at him angrily.

"Wait until the Ministry of Justice gets passive about you, then see if you can remain so open-minded!"

The middle-aged man was about to retort when suddenly there were frantic cries from outside the door.

The two of them looked at each other in confusion, but before they could understand, a group of burly men in luxurious brocade uniforms kicked open the door, immediately locking their sights on the two inside.

"Liao Zhiyuan, you have been discovered. Come with us!"

"Wait! Let go of me! Who are you?! Do you know I’m a court official?! You have no right to arrest me!"

Liao Zhiyuan, carried off by two Jinyi Guards, struggled frantically and roared hysterically, until the leader impatiently slapped him across the face.

"Shut up! We, the Jinyi Guards, have imperial authorization; shout again, and I’ll cut you down myself!"

Drawing a steel blade to his neck, the cold edge instantly calmed him, his eyes becoming clear.

On the other side, seeing his old friend about to be taken away, the middle-aged man couldn’t help but stand to stop them.

"Stop! I am Gongsun Yi, Minister of Ministry of Justice. Without a writ from the Ministry, how dare you arrest someone at will?!"

Upon hearing, the leader sneered, raising a token in the air.

"The Jinyi Guard acts on behalf of His Majesty’s will, what need is there for Ministry of Justice approval? Who gave you the nerve?"

"You!"

Seeing the unique dragon pattern representing imperial power on the token, Gongsun Yi was at a loss for words, feeling like a scholar encountering soldiers, unable to argue his reasoning.

However, before he could come up with a countermeasure, the other’s expression turned peculiar, scrutinizing him with a cold sneer.

"Minister of Ministry of Justice, Gongsun Yi, is it? Conveniently, you’re also on the list. Come with us!"

"Ah?!"

Unexpectedly getting himself caught in saving someone, Gongsun Yi’s eyes widened as he was hoisted by two burly men, struggling and roaring wildly.

Ignoring his resistance, the Jinyi Guard delivered a blow, knocking him unconscious, dumping him onto a cart headed directly to the Imperial Prison, while the remaining members flooded into the former Minister of Revenue’s residence, beginning a meticulous search.

A terrifying political storm swept through the court. Under Zhu Haomiao’s educational influence, all criminals confessed sincerely from their souls, leaving nothing unsaid, only wishing for a swift end.

The investigation followed the clues, resulting in the downfall of thousands of officials, overwhelming the prisons in the Imperial City, forcing Zhu Haomiao to expand the Imperial Prison overnight.

Showing no regard for rules, using insurmountable brute force, the Jinyi Guard swept across the political arena, gaining notorious renown across the Capital Region and spreading to further provinces to the extent of becoming tales to scare misbehaving children at night.

Simultaneously, the young emperor Zhao Nuo established her authority over mountains of corpses and seas of blood, with no one daring to treat her as a naive child anymore.

The cost was the new Jinyi Guard Great Commander, the sixteen-year-old Third Grade monster, Li Lin, the emperor’s blade intimidating all officials, newly titled Duke Yu, described as a brutal and evil hound, condemned by the world.

Nevertheless, unaffected by public opinion, Zhu Haomiao intensified the storm, with the Jinyi Guard cooperating with the Anti-theft Bureau to uproot the underground forces across all 108 alleys in the Imperial City, leading to thousands more prisoners.

"Tsk tsk, can’t eat it all, simply can’t."

In the Imperial Palace, Zhu Haomiao looked at the compiled report below, unable to resist smacking his lips.

"Too many criminals, the prison rooms are insufficient, a batch of material must be consumed."

Rubbing his chin, the youth gazed at the list of greedy corrupt officials, their value already squeezed dry, as he smiled and curved his mouth.

"It’s decided, Pikachu..."

Picking up the list, Zhu Haomiao casually handed it to Wilson standing beside him.

"These people are insatiably greedy, their crimes confirmed. Send them for punishment."

Listening to the youth’s implied whisper, Wilson understood in spirit, respectfully placing a hand on his chest in salute.

"Understood, I will host the ceremony on your behalf."

"Hmm."

Dismissing Wilson, Zhu Haomiao summoned Yan Yunsheng, handing him another list.

"Deliver these underworld beasts, who’ve committed all kinds of evil, to the previous cave; I have uses for them."

Looking at the list longer than a person, Yan Yunsheng gulped, responding with a dry affirmation.

"At your command."
