Chapter 816: Chapter 483: Crossing_2
After carefully inspecting the badge, this Third Rank Wizard relaxed his expression slightly and asked respectfully.
Colin pondered, thinking about what reason he could give to let the wizard in front of him allow him to pass through the line of witchcraft traps and alerts.
Forcing his way through was clearly the last option... claiming to be executing a special mission wasn’t reliable, as it could easily be exposed.
After a pause, Colin finally decided to tell the truth.
"Lord Colin!"
But before he could speak, a familiar voice suddenly called out.
Colin looked towards the voice, slightly surprised, and replied, "Lord Gard."
"Lord Gard."
The three other wizards also respectfully greeted Gard, who was flying over.
This scene made Colin even more surprised, as he had only returned to the Tilaimei Plain for a day.
How had Gard from the Nolan Continent become so friendly with the wizard holding the line here?
"Had Lord Colin not returned to his own territory? Why has he come back to the Extreme North?" Gard asked as he approached.
"It’s a long story... But why are you here, Lord Gard? And these wizards seem to know you well."
Gard smiled wryly, "That’s also a somewhat complicated story."
He looked at Colin and said, "This is not a place for conversation, please follow me."
Colin nodded, glancing at the respectful three wizards beside him.
’It seems I needn’t worry about crossing the line anymore... But why is Gard here?’
Gard then turned to the three wizards and said, "Return to your posts and stay alert."
The three wizards nodded and turned away without hesitation.
Colin watched this, growing more curious.
Seeing Colin’s puzzled expression, Gard did not conceal anything. As he flew towards an ice house below, he explained:
"I am the commander of this line, though I’ve only just arrived a few hours ago."
"Where are the others from the Nolan?"
"Except for the Second Rank and below wizards and Grey, most of the other wizards are at the neighboring line, and Booster is there as well," Gard explained.
"I see." Colin nodded. With Shelley by his side, he had no desire to delve further. He paused then said to Gard, "To be honest, I’ve come to cross the line into the Extreme North for an urgent matter."
"Cross the line into the Extreme North?" Gard was slightly taken aback, stopping in his tracks.
"Yes." Colin nodded, signaling to Gard before he headed into the ice house first.
Gard paused, then followed him inside.
And as soon as he entered, Gard was stunned, because right beside Colin appeared a figure frozen in ice.
"This is..."
"My friend... a very good friend," Colin replied. "The reason I’m going to the depths of the Extreme North is to save her."
"Only by going to the Extreme North can I save her."
"So, you want me to help you cross the line?" Gard was slightly stunned.
"Yes."
"The battlefront is strictly regimented... This won’t be easy," Gard frowned.
Colin sighed, "Then I’m afraid I’ll have to force my way through."
Shelley’s condition was deteriorating continuously, and he couldn’t afford to waste any more time.
Otherwise, he would have already gone to seek help from a Supreme Councilman or other resources for a pass.
But he couldn’t afford to waste time, not to mention that even if he approached a Supreme Councilman, it’s uncertain they would be willing to help, or if immediate entry into the Extreme North was possible.
The potential situations were infinite... A Supreme Councilman may not want him to take risks, or they might ask him to wait for a Fourth Rank Wizard to go instead...
So to heal Shelley as quickly as possible, he felt the only way was to go deep into the Extreme North alone.
The risk might be higher, but as the saying goes, Shelley’s time is running out.
Moreover, the Divine Believers of the Extreme North are but remnants; with his current strength, entering alone may not be as risky as imagined.
His mind was racing with thoughts, but reality was just a fleeting moment.
After speaking, Colin prepared to head out of the ice house, and Shelley’s figure quietly vanished again.
"Wait, this line is specifically set up to counter robbing Divine Believers outside, filled with unavoidable witchcraft traps and methods.
Even if you can force your way through, you might still get caught by the nearby Fourth Rank Wizards, always ready for support."
Gard suddenly stopped Colin.
He looked at the determined-faced wizard and continued:
"I’ll take you to find Booster."
"Booster’s side is different; there, you might be able to cross the line easily."
"...It would be a great help, then," Colin said sincerely after a pause.
"No need for thanks. In the Sea Domain, without your guidance, we might have faced annihilation," Gard shook his head. "If we speak of gratitude, including myself, the entire crew of the Nolan should thank you."
As he spoke, he left the ice house and sped away with Colin towards the distance.
Beneath them stretched endless ice houses; the power of witchcraft made the wizard’s line nearly flawless, entirely surrounding the Extreme North.
"I haven’t asked why you became the commander here?"
"For military achievements," Gard sighed.
"To be honest, it’s also unfortunate. After you left, the Nolan flew towards Graham City, hoping to contact a Supreme Councilman at the hall there, but we ran into the line...
Fortunately, after some twists and turns, we met with a Supreme Councilman eventually."
"But because Graham City had fallen, with many wizards homeless, the Supreme Councilman couldn’t directly assign us a place with magic energy ore veins for rest and recovery."
"To gain territory, for us, there’s only one road now – obtaining it through military achievements... So, in the end, except for those below Second Rank, the entire crew of the Nolan volunteered for battle, seeking military merits."
Gard couldn’t help but sigh, comforting himself, "Fortunately, the general offensive is about to be launched; once we reclaim Graham City, there will be plenty of suitable places."
"The general offensive is about to be launched?" Colin raised his eyebrows.
"Yes," Gard nodded, "You could proceed in stealth; once the battle starts, those Divine Believers likely won’t have the energy to concern themselves with you... We’ve arrived."
In front stretched another icy frontline, but here was clearly much larger in scale than before.
Gard brought him to the central ice house.
"Gard... Lord Colin?"
Booster was sitting in the ice house, poring over documents. When he saw Colin’s figure, he couldn’t help but pause.
Gard stepped forward and quickly briefed Booster on the situation.
Moments later, Booster nodded and stood up without hesitation:
"Time is of the essence; I will lead you across this line now!"
As he said this, Booster seemed to remember something, paused slightly, then drew out a special crystal from his body. After a moment of hesitation, he chose to hand it to Colin.
"This is a World Origin crystal that split off from the Nolan, which also has the power of concealment. You might find it useful."
Colin was taken aback, staring at the crystal Booster handed him, the dazzling gleam of the World Origin shining brilliantly.
Booster placed the crystal into Colin’s hand, then continued walking outside.
"Willing to venture into danger for a friend... Lord Colin is a man of deep affection and loyalty. I have no reason not to help you."
"Thank you," Colin expressed his gratitude silently, marking this kindness in his heart.
With this stealth crystal, the risk of entering the Extreme North could be considered almost minimized!
