Chapter 56: Chapter 56: Considering Whether to Enshrine This Card Upon Returning

Song Qiao’s eyes widened as she looked at the card, as if she had just seen an alien object, then she quickly waved her hands and said somewhat awkwardly, "I can’t accept this, it’s too valuable."

She was well aware of the restaurant’s reputation. It was a representative of An City’s dining scene, unmatched in decoration, consumption, or reputation. It was the undisputed best in An City, and one could argue that there were only a few restaurants in Huaxia that could compete with it. Many people came here for the food alone, and she had even heard the exaggerated claim that some had flown in from abroad just to satisfy their craving for this restaurant’s food.

It wasn’t just that Song Qiao didn’t dare to accept the gift; she absolutely couldn’t.

Standing to the side, Gu Xicheng and Lin Musen heard what Song Qiao said and couldn’t help wanting to accept the gift on her behalf. Huo Lingyan rarely gave gifts to anyone, and when he did, they were incredibly valuable. It was rare for Huo Lingyan to give anything away, and now that he had, Song Qiao was actually refusing it.

But Huo Lingyan just smiled at Song Qiao’s refusal and turned to Lu Jingchen, who was standing next to her, and said, "What should we do? Jingchen, your wife is too scared to accept it."

Having spent his youth in the military, even though Huo Lingyan had long since retired, he tried to soften his voice, but it still carried a hint of danger and coldness.

Lu Jingchen turned to look at Song Qiao next to him, his hand still firmly wrapped around her waist, his deep voice laced with a hint of laughter, as if he also had a feeling of relief, "Xiao Qiao, since you’ve already called him uncle, you’re a part of our family now. Accept it. Uncle rarely gives out gifts!"

The girl was really being a bit foolish; that card was priceless, and there were only a few people in An City who possessed it.

Song Qiao was still hesitant, after all, the card was incredibly valuable. If Lu Jingchen hadn’t explained just now and had simply told her it was a membership card, perhaps she wouldn’t have hesitated so much.

Biting her lip, Song Qiao finally accepted the card under the watchful eyes of the four men, "Thank you, Uncle!"

Actually, she felt somewhat awkward calling Huo Lingyan uncle, as it was still the first time she had met him in person; previously, she had only seen him on TV. If she went back and told Ning Wan about this, the girl would probably be so shocked she could lift the roof off the house.

Huo Lingyan didn’t stay long, just chatted a few more words with Lu Jingchen and the others before leaving.

The four of them walked out of the restaurant together. Lin Musen and Gu Xicheng said goodbye, and since the two of them had come together, they left together as well.

Song Qiao held her purse with the card inside, feeling for the first time that her bag was so valuable. She was thinking about whether to enshrine the card when she got back home.

Lu Jingchen took a couple of steps and realized Song Qiao wasn’t following, so he stopped and looked back at her, finding her moving at a snail’s pace and slightly spacing out, he waited until she was almost in front of him before asking, "What’s wrong? You seem distracted."

Song Qiao looked up at Lu Jingchen in front of her and almost subconsciously voiced her thoughts, "I was wondering if I should enshrine this card when I get back home."

After saying that, Song Qiao cringed.

Damn, what the hell did she just say?
