Song Qiao looked at the photos, flipped through them, laughed, and turned to Ning Wan to ask, "What did Song Xi tell you?"

Actually, there was nothing inappropriate about these photos. They were sneakily taken while she was with a man at a coffee shop. However, since she rarely interacted with men, even a few photos could easily be used by Song Xi to gain leverage over her!

Ning Wan was taken aback, then replied truthfully, "She said that you were kept by this man! What else could she say?"

Song Qiao laughed again, still looking at her, and asked, "So do you believe her or me?"

"Of course, I believe you!" Ning Wan answered without thinking, pausing briefly before continuing, "I’m just afraid that man might take advantage of you. He doesn’t look like good news, and I’m worried you might be deceived!"

She trusted Song Qiao unconditionally, not for any particular reason but because they were close friends who shared everything, and also because... Song Qiao had once risked her life to save her!

Now, it wasn’t that she believed Song Xi’s words over Song Qiao’s, but rather that she feared Song Qiao might be mistreated!
