"Hey, Hua Xiaomo, don’t forget, you’re still my girlfriend, right?" Qi Longbing said with a smile, holding her hand. "Isn’t it nice to view the exhibition together like this?"

Hua Xiaomo replied uncomfortably, "President Qi, shouldn’t you be heading back to the Qi Imperial Court for a meeting?"

To her surprise, the man laughed. "Thanks to you, the meeting is over."

Indeed, it was her photo that allowed him to decisively break free from that ocean of lengthy meetings. That particular meeting had been a real headache. He always felt there were so many issues concerning the company’s payroll! Moreover, what he thought was simple, others found so complicated to execute. It seemed not everyone was as intelligent as he was.

With one hand holding hers, a sense of comfort washed over him.

"President Qi, you haven’t had lunch yet, have you?" Hua Xiaomo asked, suppressing her disgust. This whole situation made her feel rather flustered and indignant.

"Now that you mention it... I am indeed getting a bit hungry," Qi Longbing said with a smile, pulling Hua Xiaomo’s slender arm. "Let’s go have a meal together."

Seizing the opportunity, Hua Xiaomo quickly responded, "I’m not hungry. Why don’t you go eat by yourself?"

"You’ll keep me company!" Qi Longbing said, looking at her with a smile, his eyes filled with her uniquely captivating image.

Hua Xiaomo also managed a smile, declining, "I’m sorry, I still have classes!"

"Oh..." Qi Longbing said with a meaningful smile, giving her a look. Still pretending, huh?

"Then I won’t keep you. I’ll go have lunch, and you can take your time here," Qi Longbing said as he let go of her arm and, without another word, turned and walked toward the exit.

Watching his retreating figure, Hua Xiaomo finally let out a sigh of relief. Dealing with this guy really isn’t easy!

But just as Qi Longbing reached the exit, a woman rushed over, her face mournful. "President Qi, I’m so sorry, I really didn’t know it was you. I offended you just now, and the company has... fired me..."

The speaker was none other than the beautiful emcee, Jiang Shuying.

Qi Longbing glanced at her, his eyes filled with indifference and coldness. "Is that so? Congratulations then."

He then prepared to walk past her without further acknowledgement.

Unexpectedly, Jiang Shuying grabbed his sleeve and begged, "President Qi, I’m begging you, could you please speak to the manager? Don’t let them fire me..."

Qi Longbing sneered, just about to retort with sarcasm.

Suddenly, a clear voice quickly chimed in, "President Qi is a very kind person! Of course, he’ll speak to your manager! You can rest assured!"

Then, Hua Xiaomo quickly walked over, took Jiang Shuying’s elbow, and said with a gentle smile, "You’re so dedicated and responsible at your job; your company should be proud of you! Right, President Qi?"

The last question was obviously directed at the prestigious President Qi.

Qi Longbing looked at Hua Xiaomo, his mesmerizing blue eyes shining with an inscrutable light, the corners of his lips lifting in an elegant curve. "Whatever you say goes, my Xiao Mo."

Those last two words were spoken with clear amusement.

"Thank you, thank you so much, President Qi. I really appreciate it," Jiang Shuying said, overwhelmed with emotion.

She hadn’t expected Qi Longbing to actually speak up for her. Oh dear, she had almost lost her job; thankfully, Qi Longbing was willing to help. However, it seemed she really ought to thank someone else too.

But still, she felt it was Qi Longbing’s influence that truly mattered. Without it, she definitely would have lost her job, which would have been a terrible stroke of bad luck, especially since she had worked so hard to find this position.
