Chapter 220: Chapter 220: MAKING AN APPOINTMENT WITH DIAMOND
He was guarding Zara when he received a call from Dynalis informing him that Diamond was returning. Something cropped up at home, so she couldn’t wait.
She assured them that Zara was going to wake up. They just needed to trust her.
They also understood that Diamond wouldn’t be able to fight this battle for their daughter, as it all depended on her will. If she wasn’t strong enough, then she would be defeated.
They just felt bad that Diamond did so much for them and yet they nearly forgot about her in a moment of happiness with Zara’s awakening.
Zara dejectedly sighed when she heard that. It would have been great if she had waited, but why should she?
She had already done enough and a lot for her. She shouldn’t be greedy. It wasn’t like the world revolved around her.
While she lamented about that, the couple looked at each other, warning one another about what to say before shifting their attention to their daughter.
They didn’t dare inform their daughter that Diamond suffered a loss big time because of her.
They could only tell her that they still owe her and that the debt of life should be repaid no matter what.
Zara’s mood lifted when she heard that.
She can hit two birds with one stone.
"Mom and Dad. Let’s leave for Athary. There is something that I must get from her and at the same time, you can repay her in the way that you want!" Zara excitedly said as she looked eagerly at her parents.
The couple looked at each other and saw acknowledgement in each other’s eyes, which meant that they didn’t object to this suggestion.
"Sure. Let’s do so. But what do you want from her?" Lena couldn’t help but be curious.
Seeing her mother curious like that, Zara didn’t hide the truth from her and replied, "Diamond has that pill which sold for a billion at the auction. I want to buy at least two for grandma and grandpa. Their health is worrisome!" her expression showing concern for an elder.
The couple, upon learning that, felt teary for no reason. They both didn’t even think of that before and yet Zara first thought of the couple as soon as she was awake.
She was indeed filial. They were quite ashamed of how thoughtless they were to be surpassed by a child.
"Does she really have them?"
"Um. She must. We just need to ask."
"Okay, you go ahead and call her to confirm. Even if she doesn’t have, we can at least go and thank her in person!" Cade said.
Zara beamed at her father before reaching out for her phone to make a call.
Ring. Ring. Ring.
With the phone on speaker, Zara nervously listened as the phone rang.
She just hoped that Diamond wasn’t busy at this moment.
The phone rang for a while and when she was about to hang up so that she could redial; Diamond answered.
[Back from the dead?] A teasing voice sounded from the other side, making her burst into a peal of laughter.
How could someone greet someone like this?
That was simply too unheard of.
Even the couple looked helplessly at each other, but the smiles on their faces betrayed their emotions.
"Hehe, sis. You are still humorous as ever!"
[If I don’t become like this, then I can only cry every single night. So, is everything okay with you now?]
"Can’t be better. Thank you for your help. If it wasn’t for you, I don’t even want to imagine what might have happened."
[It’s all fate. Besides, I enjoyed the process as well.]
Zara, hearing that, found herself smiling uncontrollably. She didn’t want to be seen as a burden by the people she cared about. So, listening to Diamond’s calm words with a hint of teasing now and then, she felt happy and grateful.
After chatting for a bit, Zara revealed the other reason why she called.
"Sis. Are you in Athary right now?"
[Um. I am there. Do you want something?]
"Yes. The thing is, um, do you still have the pills that you gave me the other day?"
[Why do you ask?]
"I .... I wanted to buy a few from you for my family. Is it possible?" she nervously asked, and she wasn’t the only one anxious and nervous at that moment, as the couple listening to the conversation were more nervous than her.
[Um. If you want them, I can find you ten. However, it will cost you.]
’Pew!’ everyone heaved a sigh of relief when they heard that.
They didn’t want anything for free. It would be too burdensome.
"It’s okay. My family has money. They can pay."
[That’s good then. I will sell each pill for A$100 million if you are interested.]
When the price was mentioned, Zara looked at her parents. She didn’t have that kind of money lying around somewhere in her account, but her parents did have it.
Even if they didn’t have, weren’t there the siblings as well?
Each person could only take one pill. If they contribute, won’t they be able to snatch all the pills when they are being sold at a discount like that?
When the couple heard the price, their eyes lit up.
How could they not have this amount of money?
After working for decades, wouldn’t it be a shame if they couldn’t fork out a billion to invest in their health?
They gave Zara a thump-up, showing their stance on the matter.
"It’s a deal. Keep them for me, okay?"
[Um. I will do so. When are you coming? Because I have an engagement party to attend in a few days.]
"I was planning on leaving tomorrow. Where can we meet?"
[Tomorrow? Um, I can work with that. You fly to Strawford City and I will welcome you there. There is no need to go to Dielas City!] Diamond instructed.
Zara didn’t know where this city was, but since they had been directed there, then they were going to go there.
"Okay. I will communicate with the elders and come back to you. Before we depart, I will call you again!" Zara assured.
[Okay, I will be waiting then. Pass my greetings to your family.]
"I will surely do so. Thank you."
[No problem, dear. Take care!]
