Chapter 184: Chapter 184: THE BRACELET/ARMLET OF SADNESS

Badum. Badum. Badum.

Her heart pounded like a drum as she stepped into the temple.

The temple looked very old, probably over a thousand years old. She wasn’t certain, but with a glance something about it made her think about the old temple where she literally grew up and later died under the dagger of the man that she gave her heart to.

The moss had grown all over the temple. As much as it looked beautiful from a modern perspective, whenever seeing something ancient, Zara could feel despair and a vibe that shouldn’t exist in such a place.

Suppose the armlet was in this place? As an item once worn by a goddess, this place should be blooming with life and not death like this.

With a glance as much as this place held similarities to the old temple, it still wasn’t one. The temple she knew was large, with several courtyards in place. Of course, it was torched beyond recognition back then, and no one rebuilt the temple again.

And that alone showed that this place was another temple and not that one. But who would build a temple like this back then?

She didn’t even see that in her dreams. What happened in these years?

Unfortunately, these questions didn’t have any answers, as all she was mainly focused on right now was finding the armlet. It was somewhere in the temple, and she could feel it calling her, though the feeling was weak.

The energy in the armlet should be depleting. Whatever is in there has been holding on for a long time and if she dilly dally, she might not be able to find it.

Glancing around the temple, Zara came to a halt when she suddenly found herself facing very tall statues in various positions.

’This is ...’

The moment she saw them, a wave of authority and holiness overwhelmed her, making her knees weaken as if ready to kneel and worship.

There were three statues, all of them of female deities. Deities that she knew pretty well, despite being the first time she saw them in real life.

Curious and wondering how these deities managed to find their way to Rozinya, a familiar female voice sounded behind her.

"It seems we are in the presence of the female deities of the light faction!" Diamond announced, her tone filled with amusement.

When Zara heard that, she was taken aback as she didn’t expect Diamond to even know about this. In this era, in fact, it’s been millennials since people stopped worshiping some of these deities.

Especially the side branches. People now know about the light god and goddess. Or the dark god and goddess.

There hasn’t been any mention of the lesser deities. So, it was quite surprising to see that Diamond even knew that.

She couldn’t help but look at the other with an admirable gaze, convinced that Diamond was indeed overpowered.

"Sis, you know them too?" she couldn’t help but ask, her eyes sparkling with interest.

Having someone with knowledge about what was happening was truthfully astounding. At least she won’t look like an idiot among all these people.

Diamond nodded her head and gave a glance at the high priestess, who was standing respectfully with her eyes closed, probably praying.

That old lady was knowledgeable as well, probably celebrating inwardly for being in the presence of the deities despite the spiritual being weak.

The others were a bit clueless when they heard the two talking about the issue of the deities.

Zara, seeing that happening, couldn’t help but start explaining as she walked towards her deity.

"These three deities are part of the light faction and were mostly worshipped by females!" Zara explained as her eyes landed on the statue on her left. "The deity there is the goddess of fertility. Whenever women wanted to conceive and continue their family’s line, they would worship her. If you have any problems in that department, just worship her earnestly and she will grant your prayers.

The one on the right is the goddess of love and marriage. As her name implies, she dealt with issues regarding love and marriage.

And the one in the middle, she is my deity. The goddess of health. She healed all illnesses and ailments.’

As she talked about her goddess, Zara couldn’t help but speak affectionately.

Her parents, hearing her saying something like that, couldn’t help but take a double look at the deity, the one who had been helping their daughter during these turmoil times.

If it wasn’t for her, their daughter would be buried six feet down right now, but thanks to her, they got another chance at being with their daughter.

They couldn’t help but close their eyes and offer their gratitude. They weren’t devout worshipers, but for their child, what can’t they do?

As Zara spoke, she unconsciously found herself walking towards her goddess. In her eyes, her statue was shining bright like a diamond, especially her right arm. There was something on that arm and her instincts told her that it was that armlet of sadness she wanted.

But how did it even get there?

There was no answer, but that was fine, as she could ask the goddess another time if she appeared in her presence again.

Zara stopped in front of the standing statue, and her gaze locked on that arm, she sensed the armlet was on.

While she did that, all eyes were literally on her. And Diamond wore a mysterious smile as she watched the whole thing.

Zara raised her hand for a brief moment before she dropped it.

Others, wondering what she was up to, gasped in shock upon seeing her going down on her knees.

This was the first time Lena and Cade had seen such a scene. Their daughter knelt to no one and yet there she was, kneeling in front of that statue.

They understood that she was her deity, but was it really necessary to kneel when she was still in that condition?

Nonetheless, they didn’t stop her and just watched her continue what she was doing.

Zara kowtowed to the statue three times before getting on her knees, a smile on her face, making others wonder what just went on in that short time.

Diamond, witnessing all that, glanced at the statue and smiled mysteriously once again, her actions seen by Amir, who had been finding her actions a bit mysterious.

Zara, after standing on her feet, moved towards the goddess’s arm, raised her gloved hand and with gentleness in her actions and a glint of respect and worship flashing in her eyes, she touched the arm she suspected.

And the magic happened.
