Chapter 176: PENDANT OF ETERNITY 2

Chapter 176: Chapter 176: PENDANT OF ETERNITY 2

After the death of Zahrah, Zara wasn’t given a chance to rest at all.

She watched as Mir knelt there in a daze, his expression blank as if his soul had left him.

She didn’t know how long she guarded Mir but after a very long time, he finally returned to the world of living.

In front of him, a patch of red remained, and it was the only evidence that showed that Zahrah once lived. It was the blood that somehow didn’t vanish with everything of hers.

Seeing that blood, Mir was excited and carefully extracted all of it.

With the blood in his hands, Mir left the temple. The temple was no more. All the people had been slain. And that night, someone torched the temple, and it burnt for a very long time.

From that day on until now, the temple was never revived. It simply disappeared making the dark faction very happy for their successful deed.

Returning to Mir’s side. Mir didn’t want to lose Zahrah.

She might be dead, but he didn’t think that she was dead forever. She had vanished from his arms, which meant that she had gone somewhere. He wanted to help her return faster and live happily when that time came.

Unfortunately, he didn’t know how to do so.

One day, he had a dream. In that dream, the goddess visited him and gave him instructions if he wanted to save Zahrah and bring her back to life.

As a man foolishly in love, as long as he brings her back, he is willing to sacrifice his poor life.

For him, if it wasn’t for the saintess, he would die a nameless slave but she saved him and gave him a name and a new life. So how could he be stingy with his life?

It belonged to her in the first place.

And so, a legend was created.

Recalling what she knew about this pendant before seeing it in person, Zara couldn’t help but see how her ancestors were true to themselves for passing neatly the exact happenings of this moment.

According to her grandmother, who believed so much in folklore. Her great-grandmother was the one who told her about the legend.

It was said that a very long time ago, in folklore they barely mention the exact time frame, so it wasn’t certain whether it was millennia, centuries or what, but whatever it was, it happened a very long time ago which made sense if it was true.

A very long time ago, there was a pair of destined lovers, destined to meet but couldn’t meet as easily as people would imagine. The girl held a higher position in society; however, she was very kind to everyone which made a lot of people love her.

This girl, one day, came across a young man and fell in love. They both fell in love and their love was something that everyone celebrated. This love should have lasted as people prayed earnestly for it. Unfortunately, when people aren’t destined to be, fate has its own ways.

The girl one day suddenly died and as she died, another young man with a lower status, at the bottom of the caste system, found her. She bled in his arms and as he watched her die; he regretted not being courageous enough to confess his feelings for her.

No one knew where the girl’s lover was, but looking at how she was bleeding, the man knew that she had been betrayed. Otherwise, how could she bleed like that?

While holding her in his arms, the girl’s body started flickering, fading with the wind. Seeing that, he panicked. He wanted to do something about it. Prevent her from disappearing forever. Unfortunately, fate was laughing at him.

It didn’t take a while until there was nothing left of her body except the blood which had dropped to the ground. It was only that blood which proved to him that she was there and existed.

Overwhelmed by guilt and regret at being weak, the young man collected the blood and forged a ruby gem with it.

Then comes the part which made Zara not believe in such nonsense in the first place. According to the legend, the man enchanted the blood for decades, slowly losing his life the more he did. And by the time the ruby was forged, the man was hanging on a thin thread, dying.

With his dying breath, the man wrote down a vow. ’With this blood, I will bring you back to life at all costs. I will love you, serve you and make sure that I will not be cowardly. I will find you first, so just wait for me!’

That was how the legend ended.

And that was exactly what Zara saw.

With Zahrah dead and gone, the other was no longer in the picture, so it was just her watching the whole drama.

Mir dedicated his life to her. To forge a relic, one that would help her break the curse in the end.

Seeing this, Zara also felt guilty as she had an inkling that the goddess might have done the unthinkable. Rather than waiting for fate, the goddess must have used her powers to save her.

By sacrificing her powers, she was able to create a lot of assistance to help her get where she is today.

She didn’t want to die now that she knew what others had done for her. If she died easily like that, wouldn’t she be letting all of them down?

She couldn’t do so.

But now the problem was where was this bracelet she was supposed to find?

Thinking about the main problem that everyone should be facing when she was still stuck in a dream which didn’t want to let her out, Zara became worried once again.

She failed to see Walter’s face but could she also not manage to find what the bracelet she wanted was like?

’I need to do something!’ she thought as she felt the urgency of the matter coursing through her.

No matter what, she needed to do her best.

As someone involved, all these relics seemed to have something to do with her. And she just needed to find out how that bracelet had anything to do with her.

She was going to do her best.
