The Billionaire's Cursed Heiress
Chapter 166: CONFESSION

Chapter 166: Chapter 166: CONFESSION

After Diamond left, Zara felt very overwhelmed for a moment, but recalling what Diamond had said, she knew that she didn’t have any luxury to think about the consequences or how everyone would react.

So, she called for a family meeting and had all the people who came with her gather in the living room while she connected to her parents as well as siblings.

Since they were the same family, she might as well explain the whole thing to everyone. This way, she won’t be forced to explain herself in the future if she ever survives this calamity.

With such a big move, all Hansley’s family members were caught unaware, and they were in a panic.

This was the first time that such a group family video call meeting was happening, and with Zara being the initiator, it was even serious.

So, from the second she initiated the call, she watched on the projected screen as more faces kept appearing until she was looking at ten of them. Her grandparents, parents and six siblings didn’t look particularly well.

But could their bad feelings be worse than hers?

Everyone in attendance, plus Amir who sat next to her, attracted much hatred from her father especially, Zara not certain why he was reacting like that.

Her father’s reaction was the same as her oldest brother Bradley’s. Could it be those two knew Amir?

Anyway, she wasn’t in the mood to know about that. What was important now was confessing the whole thing and having everyone move together.

[Darling, we are all here. Is there something wrong?] Lena, seeing everyone silent and observing the atmosphere, asked, worrying all the way to her brain.

Zara forced a smile as she looked at her beloved mother before nodding her head. This time, she didn’t dare lie at all.

Everything was wrong and pretending that all was well would be a sin.

Upon hearing that, Lena clutched her chest, gritting her teeth as she kept on chanting in her head that it wasn’t that serious, but her gut feeling was saying otherwise.

Thankfully, her husband was sitting next to her, so his comfort was well in place.

As for the grandparents, these two, before going on the group call had taken calming pills. Ever since the time Zara’s birthday was approaching, they have been taking great care of themselves. They didn’t want to be shocked to death because of any news.

So, they were at ease and didn’t say a single word as they held each other’s hands.

As for the siblings, they didn’t say anything. Saying anything right now would only infuriate the elders, and no one wanted to suffer their wrath, especially when Zara was concerned.

Zara on the other hand, wasn’t in the mood to drag the issue out, so she opened her mouth after assessing everyone’s gloomy expressions and said, "First of all, what I wanted to get from this place, I managed to get it. Which can be considered good news. However, thanks to it, I can say that things had turned out for the worst or good, depending on how we look at it!" she dejectedly said as she prepared herself to reveal more.

"For all of you to understand, I will need to start from where this all started. I didn’t want to reveal all of this, but I guess now I am stuck. If I don’t say it, and if anything, happens to me, I won’t be able to be in peace!" as her fists were clenched, Zara said, her eyes tearing up, at the thought of telling everyone about what was going on.

Amir, seeing that things weren’t as simple as they seemed, held Zara’s hand, despite being gawked at by a few familiar faces he had once sat down with before.

But could their ire be greater than her sadness right now?

He didn’t think so and didn’t even care.

[Darling, you ....]

Zara shook her head at her mother, motioning for her to not say a word before continuing, feeling a bit better with Amir holding her hand like that.

"Before I went on my first travel, I ....." Zara first confessed about what happened at first, from how she had that dream, got the book and received directions on how to remove the curse.

The information was simply too much for those who hadn’t heard of the matter before. So, by the time she was done explaining this first part, no one said a single word. They were all in a state of shock. And so was Amir.

He never thought in a million years that it would be like this at all.

Without giving anyone time to raise questions, she, who was running out of time, continued, "Granny gave me my second relic, the pendant of eternity and when I came here, I received the third relic, known as the dagger of suffering. And now I am left with two relics before I can remove the curse!"

Hearing such news, relief suddenly appeared on everyone’s faces. It was good news to know that the curse can be removed. And the relics had been collected that much.

And before they could ask anything, Zara continued, "And now comes the trouble!" she said as she looked around, feeling sad and guilty about what she was about to say. "I met a friend, the one who had the dagger in her hands. Seeing that I was this sick, she gave me the healing pill, the kind that was sold at the auction. After taking it, I was healed. At least of my sickness, but not that of the curse.

Apparently, with me taking that pill, the curse got agitated, which isn’t my friend’s fault. After all, this curse was placed there to make sure that I die painfully and don’t give me a chance to even have hope to live long.

So with the curse scratched like that, after failing to kill me on my twenty-third birthday, the time I have to find the last two relics and perform the last ritual has ....." as she glanced at the projected screen, she gauged everyone’s expression and honestly, they weren’t good but she still needed to finish what she had started, "I am only left with two months to live. Everything needs to be finished in that period. From finding the relics and performing the ritual," feeling bad for sharing such news.

And surely, when they heard that, a string of curses was thrown.
