Chapter 154: Chapter 154: DAGGER OF SUFFERING

Diamond suddenly smiled seeing Zara’s conflicted expression. "You are pretty clever and quick-witted. I like that!" and said mysteriously as if she had just read Zara’s mind again.

Zara this time panicked. She looked warily and curiously at Diamond, wondering if her thoughts were really true. And if it was like that, what was really going on?

She couldn’t help but be curious.

Diamond’s lips curled upwards as she picked up the glass of juice on the table and took a few sips before placing it down.

She placed her hands on the table, revealing the well-manicured hands that didn’t seem to have suffered in this world at all. They were long, proper and above all, the nails were pretty long and beautiful. It made one wonder if they were fake nails.

Diamond then looked at Zara, tapping her fingers rhythmically at the table, and opened her mouth to say, "You came here for a reason and I am here for a reason. You came here looking for something and I am here to deliver something. I have what you want. Honestly, at first, I wanted to hear from you and learn why you must have it. But I guess I can only surrender it to you and wish you well with everything that you are set out to do!" a helpless sigh escaping her lips.

Zara wasn’t expecting to hear such words from Diamond. Those words confirmed her earlier suspicions regarding Diamond’s role in this mission.

To think that she had suspected the other, when she was here with good intentions, she felt embarrassed and wanted to apologize.

However, before she could apologize, Diamond’s next move suddenly left her with jaws dropped on the ground.

With a flick of her hand, a suppressing aura suddenly descended on her. It made her feel so suffocated that she wanted to gasp for breath. However, the faster it came, the faster it vanished.

Moments later, in front of her, Zara saw an ancient dagger with a hilt which made her shudder with fear.

’This is the one!’ she exclaimed fearfully as she looked at the dagger. She remembered even with her eyes closed.

This was the damn dagger she saw being pushed into Zahrah in one of her dreams. It was the dagger which killed Zahrah, and the damn dagger which she was supposed to find on her second mission.

What was it doing in Diamond’s hands? And where the heck did it appear from?

Filled with so many questions, she wanted to ask Diamond, but before she could do so, Diamond’s phone started ringing.

Zara watched helplessly as Diamond tapped her ear and asked, "Who is calling?"

And then she went silent for a second before saying, "Connect the person!"

Zara couldn’t understand Diamond’s words at all. After all, she wasn’t proficient in the Atharian language, so she could only sit there as she watched Diamond talking for a while before she hung up.

After hanging up, she said to her. "We are fated. I have given you what I needed to give, and now I need to run a few errands of mine. I wish you the best and if we are fated, let us meet again!" as she stood to her feet.

"Diamond, I ..."

Unfortunately, she wasn’t given to say anything further as the loud sound of the car exhaust blasted into everyone’s ears.

Zara turned to see which car it was, she was dumbfounded once again as she saw the familiar red Valkyrie which caused chaos during her broadcast.

Diamond smiled cheerfully at Zara as she stepped away from the chair and said, "This lady got to go. Take care!" walking away towards the waiting red car.

Zara couldn’t even say a thing as Diamond swiftly moved so fast that she felt as if she was watching some martial arts movie.

Shortly after Diamond arrived at the car, Zara expected Diamond to sit in the passenger’s seat. She gawked seeing her taking the driver’s seat and there was no one in the car.

Could it be that Diamond was associated with ghosts which could drive cars?

That question lingered on her as she watched the car speeding away, leaving a cloud of dust.

Holding her throbbing temples, Zara knew that what she was seeing or had seen was something beyond her pay grade if there was any.

Was the heaven trying to tell her that in this world of hers, there were strange people who were so capable like those in the past?

It was truly confusing.

Fortunately, the Golden Book sounding in her ears brought her back to the right path.

Forget being curious about others. She just wanted to know when this damn curse would be lifted?

So as soon as the Golden Book sounded, she had her people send her to her villa and kept everyone away.

She was going to have a private moment with the book and she didn’t like anyone near her during this time.

[Congratulations on acquiring the dagger of suffering and a healing pill which cured your ailments. You are another step to lifting your curse.]

That was great news for her. Honestly, she couldn’t help but beam.

[You still have one remaining question from the previous session. You may use that chance now before the upgrade starts!]

Upon hearing that statement, it dawned on her that she had truly left a question before, and it seemed that it was time to get the answer before moving to the next stage.

Thinking of the many questions that she had, she couldn’t help but want to confirm something first. So, after a short deliberation, she asked, her hands interlaced nervously, "Am I somehow connected to Zahrah?"

Something about Zahrah had been bothering her. Either she was her or they were connected in some ways. She just needed to know.

And the answer came very fast.

[Yes, you are connected!] and the book, like always, didn’t bother to elaborate further.

However, hearing that confirmation, Zara beamed.

At least with this answer, she now knew which questions to ask next. But how many questions would she be allowed to ask this time?

She was curious.
