The Billionaire's Cursed Heiress -
Chapter 151: WE ARE FATED
Chapter 151: Chapter 151: WE ARE FATED
Zara’s face flushed getting teased by Diamond, the big sister she just met that day. How can she be so smooth?
Nevertheless, since she had been spotted, she could only bite her lip and answer shyly, "Um. I didn’t think that you could cook!" expressing her sincere thoughts.
Looking at Diamond, she didn’t look like the kind of person who can do chores. She fits being served more than personally doing chores.
It got her curious and thinking.
Diamond beamed as she switched off the stove, finding Zara’s words a bit too honest. However, she understood what she was talking about.
After all, she wasn’t the only person who thought that she was a pampered princess. And proving people wrong had been lately her favorite thing to do as she destressed and enjoyed her life to the fullest.
"This is nothing, actually. Cooking is as simple as it can get. Nothing fancy or difficult to do. You just need to practice until you make it!" with a shrug, Diamond said as she brought the pan to the island where the other dishes were.
Zara nodded, finding Diamond’s words comforting. Not everyone should be an expert at cooking. People have flaws, so they can do this perfectly and yet be unable to do the other things as well.
Wasn’t that what makes them human?
However, how can you know what you are good at or not when you haven’t tried it yet?
"I will bear that in mind!" Zara said as her face relaxed. "But I want to learn to cook as well. Do you think that it will be easy?" she asked, tilting her to the side, a glint of worry in her eyes.
At this moment, Diamond was serving the last dish when the question was posed. She stopped in her tracks as she looked at Zara from head to toe, which took a few seconds, and she nodded.
"Um. Like I said, you need to learn and when you learn, be diligent and don’t play it off. As long as you don’t take anything seriously, then you are doomed to suffer!" feeling a bit melancholic about the whole thing.
Zara, hearing that, brightened up as she felt that Diamond was filled with wisdom and a woman of many stories. However, she couldn’t ask Diamond. They just met today, after all.
"I will learn then!"
Diamond nodded satisfactorily and said, "You better learn when you feel better. Right now, you can go anywhere near the stove. We wouldn’t want any accident to happen!" her tone stern startling Zara, whose cheeks flushed red.
Glancing around guiltily, as someone who had been thinking hard about learning to cook ever since she learnt how to embroider a while ago, she mumbled, "I ... can I really wait that long?" honestly, she wasn’t certain how long she needed to wait until the curse was removed.
Even if it gets removed, how long would it be until she is on her feet and fully well? would her body cooperate with her and agree to work?
Would her family even allow her to learn something like cooking? Even her mother rarely went into the kitchen. Her father didn’t like seeing her mother there.
And then there is she, with how pampered she had been from the time she was in her mother’s womb; it would be a miracle if that happened.
She couldn’t help but feel dejected as she thought of the bleak future ahead.
Diamond, however, chuckled lightly as she approached Zara with light steps.
"Little sister, we are fated. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have met today!" Diamond said, a smile on her face as she crouched down so that she was at the same level as Zara.
Zara blinked her blue eyes, confusingly, not catching what Diamond was saying. Why was fate suddenly getting included in this meeting?
It can’t be that Diamond believed in those things as well, did she?
Diamond, seeing that Zara was a bit confused, held the other’s hands, her gaze direct on Zara and said, "Your sis is omnipotent. Since we met today, then I will help you. However, I can only do that if you tell me what’s wrong with you. You never know what kind of miracles that can happen!" every word oozing with utmost sincerity.
Badum. Badum. Badum.
Zara didn’t understand why her heart suddenly started thumping and racing wildly from the second Diamond opened her mouth. But what she knew for certain was how her body, mind, heart, and soul were screaming for her to trust Diamond.
Just like she said, their meeting was fate. What if it was really the case?
Besides, Diamond was a stranger, someone she wouldn’t be seeing again if she left Athary. If she refuses to host her in the future, it isn’t like she can do anything to her.
Suddenly, sharing her woes with a stranger felt like the right to do.
So, without hesitation, she nodded her head at Diamond, answering, "I will tell you. But I need to eat first!" after all, she was starving.
As if cooperating with her, her stomach started complaining, "grumble," making Diamond laugh out loud as she stood to her feet.
Zara’s cheeks reddened with embarrassment once again. Why did she keep on making a fool out of herself in front of Diamond?
It was surprising.
Fortunately, Diamond didn’t tease her for longer as she concentrated more on sending the dishes to the dining room.
Moments later, the two of them were seated with several dishes enough to feed ten of Zara.
Zara wasn’t a foodie. Rather, her stomach didn’t allow her to eat too much. So, she ate small quantities. And yet she was looking at food which could feed ten of her and maybe more.
Were there more people coming to dine with them?
However, when she saw Diamond partitioning the food, she gawked at the other with a face full of horror.
On her side, Zara got a bowl of fragrant congee, a bowl of vegetables, and a plate of fruits.
This was in line with the kind of food she ate, so she was fine with it.
But could anyone tell her why in front of Diamond she was seeing plates of meat, rice, vegetables, and fruits in such large quantities?
Before she could ponder further or even ask what was happening, Diamond opened her mouth and said to her with a smile on her face, "Eat your food whilst it is hot. You will need all the energy you can get later!" her tone urging before she started digging in her own share of food.
It took Zara five minutes to officially start eating, convinced and speechless at how this perfectly pretty sister could eat so much.
Weren’t pretty ladies with bodies like Diamond put more effort into dieting and maintaining their bodies?
Why did it look like that wasn’t the case?
She could only lift her spoon and start eating her food, suppressing all curiosity.
What else could she do except eat?
And when the food entered her mouth, her eyes lit up.
Moments later, Zara had completely thrown Diamond out of her mind as she ate with gusto as if the world was about to end.
Diamond saw Zara losing her composure as she ate. A doting smile appeared on her face as she thought inwardly, ’Since you have met me, then I will not let you die, young one. I have been waiting for you for a very long time, after all!’
