Chapter 111: Chapter 111: A GIFT FROM A LOVER

"We have to find out! I have the servants brought the parcels over. Do you want to open them here or in the living room?" Lena answered.

And Zara, hearing that, she became a bit confused. Her mother didn’t know who the sender was. So, who was it that sent her something?

She became curious the more she thought about it.

"Let them bring it inside. My body still aches a bit. I don’t think I can move as much as I want!" looking forward to the early gift Zara instructed.

And without further ado, Zara executed the instructions and, moments later, several big parcels wrapped tightly and beautifully were brought into the bedroom.

Seeing all that, Zara’s curiosity towards the sender even intensified.

’Who was it?’

"Open it and do it gently!" Lena instructed Emma, who was holding the smallest parcel in her hands after all the other servants had been sent away.

"Sure, madam!" Emma could only agree with that. It wasn’t as if she was going to open them like a barbarian.

Unfortunately, she could only complain in her heart and not dare reveal her inner thoughts.

Zara had set her phone to the side, no longer interested in it, as looking at the gifts which had arrived was more important than anything else.

Of course, she was still waiting for Quinn, who had left again for him to keep his promise and show her the gifts he prepared. She just hoped that he wasn’t lying to her back then, otherwise she would go really crazy if that was the case.

Emma opened the parcel as gently as she could under the scorching gaze of Lena, which was very uncomfortable. However, her discontent was overshadowed by the curiosity of knowing who the sender was and what was inside.

Inside the smallest parcel was a box which was wrapped and this time the wrapping skills were maximized to the fullest.

"Open it and let’s see!" Lena urged eagerly as she couldn’t wait to see whatever was in there and so was Emma.

She didn’t need Lena to tell her that as she hurriedly opened the box again and when the wrapper fell off, exclaims could be heard in the room.

"OMG! Is that what I think it is?" Lena exclaimed loudly as she stood on her feet, pointing shakily at what Emma was holding.

Emma didn’t have a single clue to what Lena was talking about except that what she was holding was something very precious. And to think that it was lying casually in a box, she didn’t feel settled.

On the other hand, Zara’s thoughts were very simple.

’It’s beautiful and I like it!’ that’s what she was thinking as she looked at the beautiful necklace which seemed to be changing colors the more she looked at it. And looking at it reminded her of a certain gem she loved a lot but never bothered to own before.

It was known for being an emerald by day and ruby by night because of how it changes color from bluish green in daylight to purplish red under incandescent light.

It was a gem known as alexandrite, her birthstone, at least the gem she preferred over pearls. Why go to pearls when there was such a beautiful stone which she could admire wholeheartedly and have millions of words to say in praise?

And what she liked about it was how rare it was. So compared to someone with a diamond, she would have a treasure.

Lena took the box from Emma’s hands as gently as she could, her eyes still widened at the shock she had received.

"It is! Oh! It’s even the whole set!" Lena mumbled to herself before exclaiming loudly.

Upon hearing that, Zara tilted her head, wondering why her mother was overreacting like that. It wasn’t like their family couldn’t afford such jewelry, right? Or was it that difficult?

"Hahaha, baby, you have lucked out. To think that you have received this set, one of the three complete alexandrite jewelry sets was released earlier this year by VERTAH. Whoever sent you this gift, that person is very serious!" as Lena passed the jewelry box to Zara, she excitedly said, giving Zara information on what she was receiving.

Upon hearing the brand VERTAH, Zara’s eyes brightened up. Who didn’t know about that famous reclusive brand? It was into clothes, jewelry, lingerie, bags, and shoes. What didn’t they do?

It’s just that the designers behind the brand were too lazy and produced a few items every time. So, it was very rare for people to get hold of VERTAH products. To think that someone gifted her such a gift, her mind couldn’t help but wonder.

Could it be him?

Talking about hi, it’s been days since they last talked. He couldn’t have forgotten about her birthday, right?

She hoped not.

Zara looked at the jewelry set and smiled as she convinced herself that apart from that person, who else could do such things for her?

Apart from the necklace, which had a golden chain and a diamond embedded on top of the alexandrite, there was a bracelet, stud earrings and a ring. They all looked so beautiful that she couldn’t wait to wear them.

But before doing that, didn’t she have more boxes to open?

***

The next box to be opened, a pair of jeweled wedge sandals was in there and the size perfect for Zara, showing that whoever prepared this knew her pretty well. Looking at the sparkling diamonds embellishing the shoes, even Lena sighed, defeated by how extravagant the sender was.

Even her husband had never done something so over the top like that. The two boxes alone were worth hundreds of millions already. What would happen if they open the remaining boxes?

However, it seemed that the shock was just starting as in the next box, a beautiful tiara greeted them and seeing that huge alexandrite which was the centerpiece of the tiara surrounded by diamonds, lost count of how many stones there were, Lena began to doubt life.

Just how rich was this person? At this stage, Lena was sure that these were gifts from a lover to a lover. If this wasn’t done to spoil, then what would be the reason?

The next box revealed a gorgeous silk emerald gown embroidered at the bodice with complicated stitches none of the three had ever seen. However, looking at the detail put into the gown, they all couldn’t help but exclaim in awe. Especially when looking at how the threads seemed to match with what they have taken out so far.

The next box contained a white mink coat, not sure it was from which animal but it looked pretty good and not too heavy but very warm at the same time. And what was shocking was the VERTAH logo on it, which made Lena wonder if her son-in-law was perhaps related to the brand in any way.

Otherwise, why was she seeing VERTAH from head to toe?

Fortunately, that was the last gift of the day, otherwise, if there was more, she would have had a heart attack.

But now comes the question, was it from the mysterious son-in-law or someone else?

The curiosity was killing her.
