THE BILLIONAIRE'S CRYBABY
Chapter 255: GUN BLAZING

Chapter 255: GUN BLAZING

Ace walked into the house, and discovered that everything was right in place.

Landon had made sure everywhere was sparkling, and he was grateful for that.

He went into each of the rooms, just to ensure that there wasn’t anything important missing.

Satisfied with the ambience, he walked into the kitchen next.

He was expecting just two staff, because the rest had been dismissed to preserve his anonymity.

"Sir Ace," one of the longest working staff in the villa called, with a huge smile on his face.

"Martin, I’m glad you’re here," he replied.

"And I’m glad you’re alive. Oh when Landon told us what happened, I couldn’t stop thinking God," Renee, his wife added, tapping his back soothingly.

He smiled at both of them. They never made use of the villa that often, but those two were some of his dearest staff.

"Thank you for—" his phone rang, interrupting his gratitude speech.

He excused himself, and returned to the living room.

"Hey Cam, what’s up?" He asked on answering the call.

"I just called to say I’m on my way with Ms Fay," he said.

"Alright. Are they okay? Do they need anything?"

"I’m passing the phone to her now," he replied.

"Hello, Fay?"

"What do you want, Mr Atticus? He already told you we’re on our way."

Something about the way she called him with his surname made him smile.

"I just wanted to confirm you’re okay," he said.

"I’m fine. Your daughter is asleep."

"I guess I’ll see you when you arrive."

"Wait, you’ll be there?" She asked, not exactly sure what she had expected.

"If you don’t want me to, I could leave the main villa, but stay in the building."

"It’s okay. I know Dream would want to see you, anyway."

"Thank you, Fay."

He ended the call but couldn’t stop smiling. It was a long shot, and he didn’t want to read any meaning into things, but he was happy with the pace they were going.

His phone began to ring again, and he was about to answer when he saw it was Landon calling, when the phone slipped out of his hand, and fell to the ground.

Bending to pick up the device, he noticed a crack on its screen.

"Odd," he frowned, as he inspected it.

The phone had gone off, and didn’t want to come on.

He tried again, but the phone simply refused to come on.

Shrugging, he tossed it on the table, and had just taken a step forward when the doorbell chimed.

He turned around, confusion written all over his face.

It definitely couldn’t be Fay. Nothing said sounded like they were close by.

His mind trailed to Landon, and he bobbed his head in realization. Perhaps, it was the reason he was calling him before.

He walked to the door, and opened it without confirming who it was first.

His face went pale when he saw Reign standing in front of him.

"How did—"

Completely caught off guard, she easily sidestepped him, and entered into the living room.

"I knew you were alive, my angel. And now, I’ve been proven right."

Ace took a deep breath to calm himself, before he turned around to face her.

"How are you here right now?" He asked her.

"Oh darling, did you really think we could ever truly be separated? Or did you forget that one summer we came to the villa?" She asked, smiling.

"No, I don’t. Because if I remember clearly, you were not invited."

"Yeah, that’s true. Oops!" She covered her mouth.

His eyes squinted suspiciously. "What is this, Reign?"

"The excess hair on you makes you look so wolfish, baby. Damn, I’m thirsty!" She licked her lips, and threw him a wink.

"Why the fuck are you here, Reign!" He screamed, losing it.

"Because I can? And because even though you didn’t invite me that summer, Colin did. He sneaked me in with his gate card. I stole the card from him, and I guess that came in handy tonight." She shrugged, as if she had just said the most normal thing.

"You’re crazy. You’ve gone absolutely mad! You better leave Reign, or I swear to God–"

"You’ll what? Slap me like you did before? Isn’t that why my father shot you? You provoked him. You should never have hit me because of that disgusting whore!"

Unable to control his anger any longer, he stormed towards her.

She quickly reached into her coat, and pulled out a gun.

He stopped dead in his tracks, as the trauma from the last time he was shot, came down on him like a storm.

"Put that away, Reign," he warned.

"Or what? I came to search for you the next day. I literally had to sneak out of the house to come find you. I was scared as hell when I didn’t find your body but in my heart, I knew that you were alive, and that was enough to keep me sane. But you show up again, and the first thing you do is put my father, and me on blast? Then you go in search of that whore? How dare you?!" Her hand went to the trigger, and Ace’s heart skipped a beat.

"Sir Ace, is everything okay there?" Martin walked out with Renee behind him.

They both jerked in shock when they saw Reign pointing a gun at him.

"Sir Ace!" Renee screamed.

"Shut up, you ugly old bitch!" Reign screamed at her.

"You’ve lost your mind, Reign. Can’t you see this isn’t healthy?"

She laughed bitterly, and then switched into maniacal laughter.

"You turned me this way, Ace. I gave you my heart. I loved you with everything in me, and how did you repay me? You fell in love with a nobody. My father basically taught you everything you know, and how did you pay him? Answer me, Ace Atticus!"

His eyes went to her hand on the trigger, and he began to hyperventilate.

His palm became sweaty, and his breathing rough, and irregular.

"Please, lower the gun. He hasn’t done anything to you. Please," Renee cried, as she pleaded with her.

"I told you to shut the fuck up, didn’t I? You know what, get down," she said, and pointed the gun towards them.

Martin grabbed Renee, and lowered her to the ground with him.

Using his body as a shield, he covered her.

"Awwwnn," Reign mocked. "Look at them. Old love. It could have been us, Ace. But you know what you did? You fucked it up. You fucked everything up!"

Ace tried to move forward. She was distracted staring at the couple.

He tried his best. He mustered every strength in him, but he still couldn’t move.

"You fucked it up," she whispered, and slowly turned to face him again.

He sighed internally in resignation. He cursed his weakness in his heart. It was just a damn gun. He should have been able to move his body, he queried himself.

"And now, you know how this ends, right?"

"Reign?" He called, trying to see if he could plead with whatever sanity she had left.

"Don’t call me, Ace. Don’t try to manipulate me. I got the message loud, and clearly. You ha—"

The door opened, and Cam, carrying Dream, walked inside.

Fay followed behind him, but paused first when she stumbled into the tense scene.

"Look at God!" Reign laughed maniacally. "Bloody hell! Let me guess, Ace. You brought them here to hide from crazy Celine? I guess you didn’t know crazy Reign was going to one up you," she said, and laughed again.

"Reign, just stop. This is my daughter we’re talking about now. She’s done nothing wrong to you. Let her go. Cam, go out with Dream, and Fay," Ace said.

"Don’t you dare move a step, you filthy bastards! Nobody moves, okay? No one!" She screamed.

Her voice woke Dream up. Yawning, she slowly opened her eyes.

Fay was within her in seconds. She pulled her from Cam’s hands into her body.

"Mummy, what’s all that screaming about?" She asked, as Fay made sure to keep her staring at her, so she didn’t turn and see Reign pointing a gun at her father.

"It’s nothing, honey. You should go back to sleep."

"No it’s not nothing. Your mother is a whore, and I’m going to kill your father," Reign said.

"What’s that—" Dream tried to whip her head behind, but Fay was quick enough to keep her still.

"Don’t look baby," she whispered. "Just look at mummy, okay?"

"Let her look. Let the daughter of the who—"

Ace threw caution to the wind. He bet on the fact she wouldn’t pull the trigger on him. He bet on the fact that the universe couldn’t be unkind enough to pull him out of his daughter’s life, the same way his father had been pulled from his.

Pushing his trauma behind, he dashed forward, and tussled her to the ground.

As they hit the carpeted floor, the gun went off.

"Ace!" Fay screamed, hugging Dream tightly into her body.
