THE BILLIONAIRE'S CRYBABY
Chapter 251: EVIL IN LIGHT

Chapter 251: EVIL IN LIGHT

Celine Atticus was the first to leave the room the second the grace was shared.

With a big smile on her face, she made her way to the room she had booked the moment she learnt of Ace Atticus’ death.

It wasn’t all the time that one’s problems were easily solved for them.

This was one of the few times, and it made her realize God may just be on her side.

Her phone rang, and she took it out of her purse, and brought it to her ears.

"Tyler, how’s everything going?" She asked.

"I should be asking you. I just saw the news. The funeral is over."

"It is. I just got to the door of my room," she smiled, as she tucked her phone between her ear, and balanced it with her shoulder, so she could search for her keys in her purse.

"Your nightmares are over then. Ace Atticus is gone for good, and there’s nothing stopping you anymore."

"Not so fast," she said, just as she opened the door, and stepped into the room.

She closed the door behind her, and went straight for her bed.

"What’s that?"

"I don’t think we should celebrate yet. Knowing my mother, she wouldn’t mind turning the tables on me."

"And how exactly is she going to do that? You’re president of Spades now. Besides, no offense, but isn’t she a little fragile these days?"

"You do know I’m only president as punishment for Ace, right? He’s still technically heir to Spades. Now that he’s gone, who do you think is next in line?"

Tyler gasped, as realization dawned on him.

"His child. You did mention he had a daughter by that annoying redhead."

"He does. Knowing my mother, she would do everything in her power to give her the company. I can’t have that happen. The reason I wanted to inherit Spades is so I could pass it unto my children. And the only way to do that, well, you know—"

"Are you going to kill the little girl?" Tyler asked, alarm heavy in his voice.

"Well I’ve come too far to back out now, haven’t I? If I got rid of my own twin brother, I don’t think it would be difficult to get rid of a child, and her stupid mother. I wouldn’t be judged for wiping out an entire family thankfully, because the Kings helped me already with Ace," she said, and smiled sinisterly.

"Wow, you’re really evil. I can bet you’re the one helping the Kings to escape too."

"But of course. They’ve helped me a lot. This is my little way of paying them back. Anyway, I need to go now. I have tons of condolences messages from our clients and stakeholders to respond to. See you in our next meeting Ty."

She ended the call before he could return her goodbye.

Tossing the phone on the bed, she rose, and walked to the table she had left a bottle of tequila.

She was opening the bottle, when she heard footsteps.

Pausing, her nostrils flared, and her eyes squinted as she tried to trace the direction the footsteps were coming from.

It grew closer, causing her heart to start to pound against her chest.

"Who is there?" She called, quickly wielding the tequila bottle as a defensive weapon.

The bathroom door opened, and Ace stepped into the room.

"Hello Celine," he called.

The bottle she was holding slipped out of her hand, and shattered to the ground.

She instantly went as pale as a ghost, as she stared at him as if he was one.

"Good to know you have the decency to be shocked. I didn’t think you’d recognize me with all the hair," he pointed to his head, and chin, then returned his hand to his pockets. "I’m glad you do," he said calmly.

"No," she shook her head. "This can’t be. We saw you fall off the cliff. You couldn’t have survived that fall. Even if by some stroke of miracle, you did, we saw the bullet too. You were shot. I have to be dreaming."

She closed her eyes, but when she opened it again, he was still there.

"No," she took a step back.

Her toes pierced against a piece of the broken bottle, and began to bleed.

However, she didn’t flinch. She just kept an eye on Ace, who she still wasn’t convinced wasn’t a ghost.

"You would have loved for me to be dead, wouldn’t you? All of your problems would have been solved. You know you have some nerve Celine Atticus. A whole lot of nerve, and a whole lot of heartlessness."

"Stop talking. Just stop talking!" She screamed. "You’re not alive. There’s no way in hell you’re alive!"

"You’re disappointed," he continued, and began pacing around the room. "I didn’t die the way my father did. But you did a wonderful job in gaslighting the world. Suicide? An Atticus?" he scoffed.

"Don’t you dare blame me for the death of your father. He killed himself like the weakling he was. I had no hand in that!" She spat, despite her trembling body.

"Do I look like a fool to you, Celine? You just practically confessed to that fool. Do you think I don’t have someone with him too? He just randomly asked you all these questions?" Ace laughed bitterly.

Celines expression went from tussling between haughtiness and fear, to downright terrified.

"What did you do, Ace? What have you done?"

"Find out the truth for myself. And you know what? I blame myself for not following my guts after my father died. I was young, but I should have investigated further. How could you kill the person that shared a womb at the same time with you? All for what? Spades?"

"Well it should have been mine from the start!" She screamed.

All gloves were off now. He knew the truth, and there was no point beating around the bush anymore.

"How? Tell me how the fuck you deserve Spades?!" He matched her tone, as he took a step forward.

For all her confidence, she flinched behind when she saw him take that step.

He was angry, and she knew if she pushed too much, it wouldn’t just be the blood from her glass pierced toe, gushing.

"Because I did the work, okay? When your father was busy trying to convince the world that he must be with your mother, I did the work! I always did the work! I deserve to be President of Spades! I deserve to be the next matriarch of the Atticus family. Now you tell me why you and your fucking weakling of a father deserve Spades!" She thundered, all gloves off.

Ace sauntered purposefully towards her. She spotted his movements, and jumped on the bed, then rolled to the other side of the room.

"Don’t you dare come closer to me, you bastard!"

"Why?" He asked, briefly staring at her blood that had stained the bed sheet, as she jumped on the bed. "Scared you’d be hurt the same way you hurt my father?"

"I don’t care how you feel, Ace. But don’t you da—"

He was within her before she could finish dialing the number she had hidden her phone behind her back to dial.

He grabbed the phone out of her hands, and tossed it to the ground.

Fear gripped her, causing her eyes to widen, as the black of its balls almost disappeared completely.

His hand went around her throat, and he pushed her back against the wall.

"A—" she struggled to breathe.

"You’re lucky I have a daughter who I want to watch grow up. You would have been dead the second you walked through that door. But no, Celine Atticus. You won’t die by my hands. I have all the evidence I need to prove that you’re the most miserable monster the world has ever witnessed."

He applied a little more pressure to her neck, before pushing his mouth to her ears.

"And just in case your lawyer tries to twist everything that has happened to you today in your favor when we eventually go to court, I have first hand testimonials. I will see you rot in hell in my lifetime, Celine Atticus."

He let go off her neck abruptly, and she dropped to the ground, gasping for breath.

Walking over to her dressing table, he grabbed the recorder he had placed there, and walked out of the room.

Ace walked straight to the secret entrance, and exit just three people knew about.

Himself, Grant, and Landon. It was the same exit he used the night he married Fay.

He walked up to it, and Landon was there as he planned, waiting for him.

"How did it go?" Landon asked in seeing him.

"Get my daughter out of Seth’s house at the latest tomorrow morning. It was like I predicted. She wants Dream. Get her out, and to the forest mansion."

"But Fay. You don’t want to do that to her," Landon said reasonably.

"That’s why you’re going to explain to her what Celine is up to, and why all the bodyguards at Seth’s house can’t stop her plans."

"Okay. And you?"

"There’s something important I need to do. You go first."

Landon nodded, and entered into his car. With a goodbye honk, he drove out of the parking spot.

Ace was about to step into his car when the air suddenly changed.

His heart skipped a beat when he heard footsteps, and a humming voice.
